I had the pleasure of spending an evening with Donna Fargo and her husband, Stan Silver, at the Palomino in North Hollywood CA, in '71. Donna was the featured act that night and the house band hadn't yet had time to learn "Happiest Girl". So, although she had a hit, she didn't get to sing it that night. Ironically, the house band (the Tony Booth Band) won the CMA award that year for best non-touring band. Donna's a sweetheart. Wonderful lady.

I remember Donna's show very well....and I don't consider myself old at all at 50...but this is what country music was all about before all this new crap came along.
