  • @216dozza Cheers.

  • @hirdy6 Ha ha, that's funny! Man though, it does bring back memories for me too-I remember my Mom and her friends wearing clothes just like what Donna is wearing in the video. Ahh, those were the days...

  • cute - love it!

  • I hope Donna is doing OK. I know she has MS and we may lose the wonderful lady soon.

  • Oh I agree with davedavdavalan...there is no one else that can sing this beautiful song, like Donna Fargo! Hands down!

  • I'm the happiest man in the whole USA after hearing this beautiful song

  • Wonderful video, thank you, lovely memories, lovely song, lovely voice.

  • I remember this song when I was a kid too!!!! As an adult I sang this song to my daughter as I rocked her to sleep.....smile!

  • @midgurefan ...26.04 .11 .....I understand that you are peculiar ,as defined in Merriam Webster 's definifion of the word #3 ....Why would you wany to be so blatant .Back then her hair was top of the line .Of course back then we did not see it ,we only had radio and 45's .Our partner's did their hair that way . You were not there then ,are you anywhere now ?

  • "... in the whoooole YUU ESH AYYYY!" Where in the South do they pronounce the "s" this way?

  • What show was this from?

  • Not bad for a Kindergarten school teacher, huh? Beautiful and talented...sigh!

  • Vintage Tom T. Hall

  • Oh I'll tell you the truth, the shoes pass, but the hair,oh hair stack does look funny, real funny, wow dids they have hair stylists back then?

  • @midgeurefan apparently you don't realize the shag was all the rage then! everyone had a shag... and you are a twit!

  • Beautiful voice.

  • I LOVE DONNA FARGO. I COULD LISTEN TO THIS FOREVER OVER AND OVER!! WISH SHE WAS MY ENGLISH TEACHER.

  • buy silver!

  • Rhonda Volmer does this song much better imo

  • GREAT SONG ONE OF MY FAVORITE ENTERTAINERS OF ALL TIME.

  • SHE'S MY IMAGINE OF THE MOST PERFECT GIRL!!

  • As a child of the 70's I was so in love with her, hell, I guess I still am. She still looks great today.

  • it's a skippity-do-da-day! LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

  • Oh,no.... oh,no.... yes,it is. Heaven help us,this is just plain trash.

  • @VictoriaRu29

It takes one to know one, dude!

  • Nice hi quality production lol.

  • There couldn't be a more appropriate song from me to the man I love & cherish so much (Jim). He has been in Iraq for 6 1/2 yrs & it's time to come HOME. I love & miss you so much. (1) year ago he made me the "The Happiest Girl In the Whole USA" when he found me on Classmates after 35 yrs, he was 6,000 miles away. The last year has been the BEST year of my life. I can't wait for you to come home. I love you Jim more then anything in the WORLD. Pls be careful & may God Bless & watch over you AML.

  • @JMCB4EVER --I sure hope it works out for you. Three years ago it was 22 years after Highschool. And I finally got in contact with my grade school crush and other than the initial contact. She had nothing to say to me? Finally she had a third party contact me and in no uncertin terms tell me to have no further contact? And now it's been two highschool reunions later; we had our 20th & 25th and she wasn't at either one and I told her all about classmates and facebook and she still isn't on them?

  • @MrOphachew ~~~~ I'm so sorry to hear that, I wish it could be different for you it sounds like you still care for her alot. Bless you, your true love (as mine did) will come to you, keep the faith. I love this man so much, I didn't realize it then but when he came back into my life it was unbelievable how I felt & how much love I had in my heart for him. "I thought I loved you then" by Brad Paisley, that's nothing compared to now! Thank you for the response. Good Luck & Happiness to you always.

  • @JMCB4EVER "Good Luck & Happiness to you always" and Thank you for sharing, posting. I hope you don't mind but I checked out your youtube page and your postings at other music video clips of other songs. I just wanted to let you know that if I ever do get lucky & hear from her that I will be dedicating Randy Travis's "Forever and Ever, Amen" to her. From the sound of it; I'll bet Jim would do the same for you? But instead it looks like I'm stuck with "you look so good in love." by George Strait.

  • Love the plaid "I Dream of Jeannie" outfit, except with bell-bottom harem pants instead of elesticized cuffs...

  • Oh GAWD... we had the album called "The Happiest Girl in the whole USA" where Donna Fargo kind of looked, crossed-eyed, at the sky under a tree...

  • This version is better than Tanya Tucker's. I'm the happiest girl in the whole USA.

  • DONNA, YOU'RE THE MOST GORGEOUS GIRL IN THE WHOLE USA!

  • J'adore.

  • What has happened to Country Music? THIS was music! Not this fake crap we have today.

  • Ms. Fargo wrote this song!

    That's a fact.

  • I love you,Donna Fargo!

  • This is nice for sure.

  • the martina of her time

  • THIS SONG IS PERFECT! EXCELLENTLY SUNG BY THE MOST GOOD LOOKING GIRL IN THE WHOLE USA!

  • like the video, have seen several of the same on you tube. Donna wrote this song, it was offered to Tanya Tucker as well as other singers, who turned it down. Donna became the 5th most successful female artist of the 1970s, behind Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette and Lynn Anderson. Tammy Wynette also recorded this song. If not for her illness in the late 70s, I believe Donna would have been one helluva star to deal with. Love her and her music! She is a beautiful person, inside and out

  • i believe that was shot at the Heritage, home of Old Hickory

  • i never get tired of watching this song video Donna was a great singer in her day and pretty too

  • Donna Fargo... GOOD friend of my mom Dottie.... saw her in Reno, Nv many times.... I'd wake up to my mom playing her records every morning......

  • Beautiful country lady who had class and style---GOD BLESS YOU DONNA!!!

    BRINGS BACK SOME GOOD MEMORIES

  • Love It!!

  • I got to see Donna Fargo perform this song in person at the NCO Club at Elmendorf Air Force Base in 1976 before i reported to my remote assignment at King Salmon Airport. She was quite a beautiful woman and a great singer, full of joy :)

  • Boy did I love this record when I was a real little girl. Is that Tara? She's from Mt. Airy, NC...not so far from my hometown in Va.

  • this song touches the earliest memories of my childhood....a time when everything seemed perfect....now it makes me Feel GREAT....absolutely awesome

  • The drawl....the fantastic outfit.. the best of days!

  • I wish they could've fould a more "flattering outfit" for her to wear in this video. It looks like she is taking HUGE steps for whatever reason? This is one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite singers! Happy to find it:)

    BOP

  • After hearing the girl on the tv show Big Love sing this song I just fell in love with this song <3

  • hey davedavdavalan you idot tanya tucker is better then donna FAGO SO HAHA

  • @paintemblue Tanya Tucker turned down the chance to be the first to sing this song. I have never heard Tanya Tucker sing it. As for who is better, there is no comparison, Donna is #1, but I also like Tanya

  • Yvonne Vaughan u r bful

  • Donna is a bful woman my gosh she´s bful she brings back memories, She´s like the girl next door you wish you had wow bfulbful.

  • Classic! It doesn't get any better!

  • Yeah, Tanya did it way better. but, this is great too!!

  • Wow! She's sexy! love those bell bottoms!

  • this song takes me back to the days my Dad used to drive truck.... ahh smell of burning deisel!

  • Thank you Tommy for making me the happiest girl in the whole USA! (I LOVE Donna Fargo's outfit in this video....the hairdo, not so much...)

  • Is that Tammy Wynette in the very beginning of this clip singing "Donna Fargo"

  • This woman is a vastly underrated talent. What a great country voice ans she is beautiful on top of that!

  • Check out Daveigh Chase's version from Big Love. I think it's much better; she sings it with about a million times more feeling, especially when seen in the context of the show.

    It's beautful in fact!

    watch?v=5ZegnocvoBU

    thanks

  • She dresses like Jeannie from I Dream of Jeannie. Praise God I was born in 1987; I missed the mess known as the '70s. Now where did I put my can of Tab?

  • I know-- I had to watch her other songs to make sure it was the actual singer and not a home video! Her movements are jerky as she walks-- but the whole work is what '70's videos were about. They didn't really know what they were doing and the singers were not actors.

  • brilliant to see her again and hear this song, man talk about blowing away the cobb webbs, geez this was a bueaty of a song and still today, thanks for posting mate down under sydney.

  • I love this song it was one of my Brother,s favorites.

  • I had the pleasure of spending an evening with Donna Fargo and her husband, Stan Silver, at the Palomino in North Hollywood CA, in '71. Donna was the featured act that night and the house band hadn't yet had time to learn "Happiest Girl". So, although she had a hit, she didn't get to sing it that night. Ironically, the house band (the Tony Booth Band) won the CMA award that year for best non-touring band. Donna's a sweetheart. Wonderful lady.

  • The Prozac theme song....................

  • I nned an insulin shot from that overindulgence of sugar

  • Skip a dee doo da thats a good song!!!

  • What a trip--you gotta love her! I knew her brother, Larry, briefly, when I was in N. Carolina. It was right before she broke out with a hit. He kept asking me if I'd heard of her...it was at a hippie communal house! I was just passing through...I stayed for a few days. He was a trip.

  • If I Were The Kingdom of Heaven with eyes to see..(tax exempt and and with all back taxes Jesus!)..a LassieSongUSA!

  • I hate country but I love this song because it reminds of my mother.. She'd sing it to me every morning to wake me up.. I can still hear her singing in my head.. Ahh, I'm tearing up a bit now..

  • This freakin ROCKS!

  • bOOTIFUL SINGER, THX 4 SHARING...CHUR

  • i enjoy her and tanya!!

  • I'm a huge Tanya fan but I think Donna does this better. And I'm not even a Donna "fan." Just think if Tanya did this song instead of Delta Dawn. I'd say her career would be VERY different (Tanya's career that is.Same for Donna's too!)

  • m0m sang this t0 me all the time when i was little. i still remember the lyrics c0mpletely.

  • classic...

  • YES that is country, back when singers sung instead of screaming at the top of their lungs. Classic country is the way it should be..Their performances

were real, not this staged theatricals and bull crap that is in use today.

  • One of my first records when I was a little tyke. Always played warped, lopsided and scratchy. Thank God for CDs!!!

  • You must be a Tanya Tucker fan, since you'd have to be to say her version is better.Tanya does just OK in my opinion. Sorry but Donna Fargo made this song a million selling number 1 record all over the world.

  • @davedavdavalan she used to suck Tanya Tuckers nasty old pussy years ago after Glenn Campbell would dump both his nuts in it.

  • @yourdickis2limp You are one sick individual

  • @curt8789 whats wrong with woman eating each other out Niggerlips, are you telling me your against Gay rights and the wonderful feeling they get from eating out one anothers clitoral parts?

  • @yourdickis2limp Your uninspired and racially conotated response has made my case. You need a shrink.

  • @curt8789 Your the one who is on the defensive about worthless celebrities like Donna Fargo who havnt had a hit song since Richard Nixon was president.

  • @yourdickis2limp Maybe she hasn't had a hit in a while but neither has Paul McCartney. BTW, I noticed that you tuned in to listen to her song.

  • @curt8789 Donna Fargo was a one hit wonder hillbilly inbred who now sucks cock in her daughters basement to support her Meth habit.

  • @yourdickis2limp I am totally amazed at how childish you are. You know, it's sad how your life must be. I can tell by your comments that you must lead a very lonely life. Please, for your sake, seek help. This kinda of trash your posting only goes to show just how sick you are. I will pray for you and hope you can find happiness in your life and not be so unhappy.

  • @davedavdavalan does the truth hurt fucknuts?Donna Fargo is just like Lynn Anderson,Tammy Wynette,Dottie West,Tanya Tucker and all the other half hillbilly woamn who took their fame and fortune all the way to Hell and back and allowed their personal lives to resemble that of a homeless Nigger from Harlem.

  • @yourdickis2limp Boy dude, you sure know your country girls. Why you even spelled all their names correctly! Sounds like you have a strong interest in country music. Come on dude, man up, you must like it since you keep coming back.

  • @davedavdavalan counrty music has always sucked.Nowdays the Rock N Roll is dead they say so people listen to it and smile for a second but all country music boils down to are half ass talent like Kelli Pickler and Carrie Underwear buying some fake tits and making R rated soft porn videos to otherwise unwatchable and unlistenable songs.

  • @davedavdavalan Hey Dave, Isnt it amazing that a guy like this limpdick character despises our girls so much that his twisted ass keeps tuning in? He shoulda got laid back in high school and maybe he wouldnt be such a butt-hole! Our Country Girls R-The-Best. Curt.

  • @curt8789 Right on Curt! Couldn't of said it better.

  • @yourdickis2limp And I'm sure you're just a super star right fuck tard??? Please, get a life loser, amazing how brave some people are over the internet and I've found that about 100% of them are true cowards when it comes face to face....

  • @yourdickis2limp Nice trick pecker-wood. I think your dick is too limp (excuse my language ladies) You need a shrink. Its not enough to be hatefull but you have to F with other people too, huh?

  • This song reminds me of Delta Company, 1st Battalion , 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division

  • in some ways she reminds me of loretta lynn. dont know if its the voice or what?

  • no...

I'M the happiest girl in the whole U.S.A.!!!

  • It's funny to seen this video from 1972. I have never seen video with Donna Fargo before I came on YouTube. And I have to say, she is so beautiful as I think she was. Thank's for posting this old video's with The Queen of Nashville, so we outside U S of A can enjoy them too.

  • Its sets the image of time back in the early 70 s. On what show was this by the way???

  • A great song by a GREAT & classy Lady. Thank you.

  • This is a great classic.

  • That would be pajamas today.

  • I mean I know Eggplant bell outfit --man that Fabric looks super itchy-- pass the Doob...man!

  • LMFAO

    good singer though

  • Cannot get enough of Donna,Big thank you for this, appreciated.

  • my mom would sing this as a lullaby to us when i was really little i would fall write asleep :)

  • Yea,Too bad things arent the same as then,as time goes on theyll eventually find a way to allow see thru of some sorts, more is less.

  • Wheeew! Talk about fashion! HA! Amazing to see she didn't show her bellybutton. Had to love the censorship back then. Really looks like this was pre-MTV days too. If so, so much for MTV intro'ing music videos. -wink-

  • I was and always will be in LOVE with Donna

  • I remember Donna's show very well....and I don't consider myself old at all at 50...but this is what country music was all about before all this new crap came along. Today's country music only requires good looks!Talent dosn't matter. Now Donna has the talent and is absolutely beautiful without a doubt!

  • Love this song. I was in high school when that song was popular. Nice memories.

  • I miss my prozac..

  • love donna, but andy griffth gets all the glory in mt.airy n.carolina,it's her hometown also, her real name, yvonne vaughn,i live bout 10miles from where she was rasised, but mt.airy only talks "how it's like"mayberry,i say bullshit,no crackheads or people robbing businesses for copper in buildings, believe me it no"MAYBERYY"P.S.but they do have some barney in police station,God bless you all!!!

  • She is goddamn AMAZING!

  • Can you not say that word. Can't you say that she is amazing without that word.

  • why don't you leave my posts alone!

  • I didn't say anything, I just think its rude to say that word, thats all, I wasn't being mean or anything.

    So just calm down.

  • Shawna, I am ALWAYS calm, in New Zealand, we don't have a problem with the word that you don't like, fortunately we don't have a person like the Rev Jerry Falwell, a bible thumping, right wing ZEALOT. In New Zealand, we VALUE free speech. Tell me, do you believe that Ronald Reagan or George Bush blasphemed, OF COURSE THEY DID. It is time for YOU to calm down Shawna, I just like my mucic, look at MY FAVORITES, the first on is entitled "THE RODEO SONG", make a comment on THAT song Shawna

  • jerry falwell died a year or two ago.

  • Yes we are informed of what happens in the USA Dannette and, yes, I knew he was dead, so is Ronald Reagan. Thank you for this information anyway Dannette

  • ok shawna... you need to calm down. last time i checked, in AMERICA we have a thing called free speech. if markb wants to say "god damn" then so be it. if you don't like it... CLOSE UR EYES!

  • That oufit is so early 70's...I mean incense blacklite an bong Wow

  • Sorry Shawna didn't mean to give your post thumbs down, I was trying to give it thumbs up and hit the wrong one.

I agree with you, some people are just rude, I just ignore the rude and nasty comments, people need to keep those comments to themself.

  • Great songwriting; simplistic but brillant. I recall how popular this song was in 1972.

  • ...Joe Biden?

  • Awesome, they don't have songs like this any more.

  • so so true...

  • my bad i was trying to say i love this song

  • i just turned 16 and i love this my grandma inteduced me to this song and my mom was like wow this is from my time or even before she was born but she was shocked =] i hearts&;
