  • that cello loop was so unique then and still is unique

  • I grew to love this joint but i dont think it shoulda been a single. Chained Minds or Follow the Funk woulda been better imo

  • og stoner hip hop,,turtle power

  • this is hip hop!! pretty much anything from this time is real... no need for lil wayne and his auto tune!!! this is hip hop .. not hip pop!!!

  • REAL MUSIC .

  • planet asia, casual, and mix master mike. still probably the dopest show i've ever been to.

  • i remember the hieroglyphics came to muchmusic and performed a bunch a tracks, including this one. haha! memories. Who remembers the radio station battle between hiero and saafir?? if you do, you know hip hop

  • gp798 i actualyhad tape battle on tape and saffir won .. but back to this...man i first saw this video when yo mtv raps used to come on friday nights at 10 00 pm EST and as soon as i heard this i bought this 12' in less than 10 hours at the record store he is CLARLY the leader(next to del) as far as they click is concerned his production is solid and his rhymes and he should have done WAY MORE things and left the hieroclifics alone which are copycats of del says uzipolo-king of decatur

  • da whole album "fear it self" is one of da dopest shit ever!

  • hahaha

maybe mike jones sounds like cas....but not really.

    cas, souls, heiro = trendsetters.

    mike jones = bedwetter.

  • @cliquehop that was actually the first thing i thought though, the first time i ever heard a mike jones verse.. "mike jones sounds like cas".. it's true, totally different wordplay, but damn near almost exact vocal tone...

  • mike jones hahahahaha he has no lyric

  • please log off........

  • That beat is on point!!!

    Casual ol' school!!

    The remix was cold too.

  • casual looks funny with hair

  • sh*t ... who produced it btw ?

  • domino produced this. he is one of the most slept-on producers. type in "domino making beats" if you wanna see him in action.

  • Domino is so slept on. One of the best in the business. "No More Worries" on Del`s "No Need For Alarm " is a prime example as well as this cut and "Live and Let Live " by Souls of Mischief. He desreves more recognition and I`d like to hear more of his work on any upcoming Hiero projects.

  • That Tom Scott sample is on point... 4 real

  • Anyone ever hear the B Side single from this "Its a Me Thang"?

  • Yes, sir. Its a shame (hopefully temporary:) that i cant find it here. Heard it last night at a party since 98. PEACE.

  • Talking about "Its a Me Thang in the earlier message.

  • This record's still very slept-on, wouldn't you agree? Hiero was unstoppable in the early 90's.

  • I agree 100%. Hiero shoulda been HUGE. Instead they have a dedicated cult following...which is great and all, but they were definitely underrated especially by the media (which I think gave De La Soul and Tribe a hell of a lot more attention).

  • masterful flow. duu was just on point.

  • This song is ill. He's down with Hiero now.

  • Now? He's been down with hiero from the start man...

  • But he wasn't making records with Hiero from the jump-that's my point. Hiero didn't officially form 'til '95. The formation of Hiero came from the groups members getting dropped from their major labels.

  • Casual been a member of the Hiero crew since it conception. Casual was on Del's side-b Burnt in '91 at the age of 15/16. Snupe was prolly that last member added. Bascially, Del put his whole crew on. The only member of the crew that never got signed with tha shamen/the prose (Pep love & J Biz). Heiro was formed around 90/91 and Casual was a member. He was in all of dels early videos.

  • Yes, Del created Hiero in the early 90's, but they didn't officialy form as a group until 95 when each individual member or group of the collective were dropped from their respective major label contracts.

  • Actually on the insert of dels frist album, the was a list and pics of the members of hiero, that was in 1991 or 1992. they were a crew, but they didnt drop an album for a few more years.

  • I already said as much...

  • Yo! I got a copy of Fear Itself its a alright album.Especially if you down with Hieroglyphics, "Hey vintagehiphopseattle" Do you have (Extra Prolific) Brown Sugar or First Sermon video? -Peace-

  • I got that Rock Video Monthly from 1994 that has the Casual video I didn't Mean to.

  • 'R.V.Monthly,,,aah..... I "had" that one as well..2 dollars 31 cents a month for 1 VHS with 10 videos.....loved it! had Patra, Da King & I, Leaders of The New School, Some Coolio, etc. Great stuff.

  • alright???!!!! man that shit really still gets play around my place. my kids grew know the choruses of some of this album by heart.
