These videos are great. I taught myself how to knit from a book and I knit completely different. Those books never have enough step by step pictures. This video is great I just wish it was more zoomed in on the yarn. The current position of the camera is great I would just like a zoomed in version added. so the video would be twice as long. Thanks so much.
I have always wanted to learn how to knit, but the books make it look so confusing that everytime I try to learn I get fed up and quit. Watched this video ONCE and how to do the purl stitch 'clicked'. thanks for a great video!
No more holes! Beginner knitter, here, and I've been struggling with switching between knit and purl, wondering what I was doing wrong. This was great.
my friends were explaining this to me for over 30min and they were being so vague about instructions. Your videos are awesome, now it seems so much simpler :'D
v only been knitting for 2 days and i only know how to do the knit stitch but i was sturglin with the purl stitch but thanks to u iv mastered it. thank u so much. :)
thank you so much. been trying to figure out purl for so long from books. couldnt get the hang of it but your video explained it beautifully to someone who is a natural crocheter. :)
OMG! I could kiss you, Knit Witch! I recently just started to learn how to knit and I've been trying to figure out how to purl for for a while now and I was about to give up, but you have made it so clear and easy to understand! Thank you!!! You're awesome!
Thank you so much for this video! I didn't know why I was getting that little space until you showed me that I needed to move the yarn forward before purling...no where did it tell me to do that...THANKS so much and your way easy video to follow...
I am a beginner and I want to thank you for posting this. I have been trying to figure it out with a book and your video has really helped me out and I know how to do it now!!! Thanks
This video has been so helpful! I have been trying to figure out the purl stitch for a while and failing miserably. Thank you so much! Your videos are very helpful. :o)
Thank you so much, Knit Witch. I had been having a terrible time making knit and purl stitches in the same row... but now I see how the yarn has to be moved. Now my project is going smoothly thanks to your great video!!!
I am so appreciative of the time you take to make these!!! Thank you for posting them- these are teh best online video tutorials for me- simple, helpful and not too verbose. :) THANK YOU!
This has to be one of the easiest purling demonstrations I have found. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain it so patiently and carefully.
Just want to say thank you for taking the time to make the video..... and working over a dark background..... and being concious of where your hands are. XD
I've had to scan through a lot of videos just to see how exactly this stitch is done and everyone is always either working over a bright surface that the yarn blends into or their hands are in the way of the camera.
Thank you for this, it was easy for me to follow and I'd learned to do it within seconds where other examples I could not see what they were doing. Thanks, this is an excellent video. :)
Thank you so much for posting these videos! I don't think I would be knitting without these. Yours are the easiest to follow (especially for me- I have no aptitude for this but I want to very much!)
After watching about 4 purl stitch videos, yours was far by the best one and you actually slowed down enough for me to understand how simple it really is. Thank you! :)
Yes, thanks so much. I can follow it now that I've seen it done. and slowly. Thanks also for pointing out to bring the yarn to the front and what happens if you don't.
I LOVE YOU>>>.... I use to be able to knit when I was younger... taught my self crocheting.. thought I would start knitting again.. well isn't like riding a horse...I have a book, but it is not as good as your video... AWESOME>>>

Thanks so much! I was having trouble with this last night as I was attempting to make a pawpring design washcloth using the garter stitch and purl stitch. And I ended up with a big hole in my knitting!!
I knew I wasn't doing this right so thought I'd look up to see if there was a video demonstration of the purl stitch. Thank you so much for posting this and now I"m going to rip out my work and start again doing it RIGHT!! I bookmarked your website. Like kjestice, I am learning to knit from a book but sometimes you just need that video to clear up misunderstandings. The book did not even mention the yarn between needles to switch between K and P.
I love you videos. My fashion design teacher tried to teach us how to knot but all she did was give out a bad xeroxed pamphlet, and then demonstrate the garter stitch. You're a much better knitting teacher.I'm gonna show these videos to my friend so that she won't be so frustrated doing homework.
This is amazing. My friends tried to teach me to knit, but they couldn't explain it to me well enough and did not have the patience to sit there with me. I will be sure to use you for further reference and quick reminders. You explained it slowly and very clearly. You basically taught me the beginners knitting in four minuites. thank you, Knitwitch.

Thank you SOOOO much!! I've been trying to learn how to purl from diagrams in books and on the web but they were so confusing-so now ive finally got it-and im really excited!!!!lol=D
I recommend your little video to people trying to learn the purl stitch on their own all the time. You do a great job, not just in explaining the purl stitch, but in comparing it to the knit stitch and showing the bumps on the front and back for each stitch. Thanks!
These videos are great. I taught myself how to knit from a book and I knit completely different. Those books never have enough step by step pictures. I recommend your little video to people trying to learn the purl stitch on their own all the time. You do a great job, not just in explaining the purl stitch, but in comparing it to the knit stitch and showing the bumps on the front and back for each stitch. Thanks!
