Fuck you x-play this is one of the few games on the fucking piece of shit wii that I love, of course it didn't sell well because most wii fans are fags and retards (aka casual gamers) that only buy shitty casual games. As much as I love this game I will have to agree with XPlay. On all of it's points except needing to use "broad movement's." I think they could have used a better word than that cause that term might scare some people away from it. There'nt very huge movements. "Slightly Broad swings" I think it a slightly better term. But you won't have to do huge swings like a real sword.
These issues can be fixed if Ubisoft gives this game the full treatment. It can be the first 3rd party AAA motion title.
This guy only gave it 3 stars because he couldn't beat the first boss, I finished and I love it second best game on the wii the first being monster hunter tri. 5/5

holy crap that's the worst excuse I have ever heard. And that is not uncreative, that is just pretty darn badass.
It was pretty short and the loading times were awefull. But still the gameplay is so much fun! It has its flaws but the basic gameplay is among the the best I`ve played in years.

What people don't release is, RS1 was released in 2006, when motion control was relatively new & crappy motion controls were at least somewhat acceptable. In 2010, 1 year after Motion+ came out, you can expect more.
I can respect others' opinions, but I honestly think the ONLY reason they praise it this much is because it's a decent Wii game.

Calm down, guys, 3/5 is not a bad score, or at least not nearly as bad as you guys seem to think. Watch X-Plays Ratings 101 video. They said that 3 stars means, "Good, but not great,", and that's pretty much what I think about RS2
It's a great swordplay game, the FPS elements really add to it, and overall it's pretty unique. But as a regular retail game, it's good at best. It's extremely fun, but ONLY for a short time (unless you find single-player MotionPlus swordplay to be EXTREMELY addictive)

i own the game and what they said was true they forgot to mention ho creative you can be with your kills. the story is horrid, but fight large groups of weak enemies is so much fun with the skills you unlock.

@McLovin123ify The wii has a lot of fun games. Such as galaxy, muramasa, and so much more. The focuses more on fun than graphics. The PS3 and Xbox 360 focus more on graphics than fun. The Wii is a good console with a good selection of games, but most of the good games on the system are exclusives, while the 360 & PS3 get most of the multi-platform games (and they aren't dumbed down versions) as well as exclusives.
@psp2s2 Metroid Prime 3 runs 60 frames, and most of the doors don't take very long to load. In fact, even the Metroid Prime games on Gamecube (which also ran 60 frames) had much quicker load times on doors.

I actually agree with this review, a good wii game is a decent game when compared to the other consoles. The main story is pretty cool and the controls are much, much better than the first, but theres absolutely no replay value. Ubisoft can't expect people to pay 60$ for a game they're only going to play once.

Bought RS2 the other day, and this review definitely underrated it. Most other well-known reviewers gave this game 8's and above, GameStop gave it a 10. Honestly this is one of the best games I've seen on the Wii, and if you're unsure, pick it up @ Blockbuster and try it out.
Ign gave it an 8.6 and applauded the graphics and art direction. I like X-play but they have been wrong before. Battlefront on Xbox a 3 out of 5? That was crazy talk lol.

But it was fun. Very fun. I'd give it an honest 3.8 out of 5 for them trying to make something really good for the Wii.

To be honest though, I wouldn't classify this as an FPS, as half of the gameplay focus is on sword-fighting.

What the hell man, this game should get a 5/5 damn man, wii finally gets a game that is on par with 360 and ps3, and you are to biast to see past your own stupidity. Damn man, this is a beast game. you should take a cold shower and rethink it.

I would have a ps3, and I still play gamecube games and ps2 games and n64, no graphics aren't everything to me. It,s all about the gameplay. This game has awesome gameplay, I mean it. I like the sword fighting, I wouldn't keep the game game if it didn't.

i own the game and what they said was true they forgot to mention ho creative you can be with your kills. the story is horrid, but fight large groups of weak enemies is so much fun with the skills you unlock.

@McLovin123ify The wii has a lot of fun games. Such as galaxy, muramasa, and so much more. The focuses more on fun than graphics. The PS3 and Xbox 360 focus more on graphics than fun. Their audience is hypnotized into thinking that because a game has such amazing graphics that the game is automatically an awesome game when it truly isn't.

@Ryanmiller70 OK, I can definitely tell from your statement that you're a Wii owner who's either jealous that the 360 & PS3 have way better graphics, or is just extremely stereotypical. 360 & PS3 have great gameplay, too.
The Wii is a good console with a good selection of games, but most of the good games on the system are exclusives, while the 360 & PS3 get most of the multi-platform games (and they aren't dumbed down versions) as well as exclusives.
PS3, 360, PC, and Wii are all good systems.

@psp2s2 Metroid Prime 3 runs 60 frames, and most of the doors don't take very long to load. In fact, even the Metroid Prime games on Gamecube (which also ran 60 frames) had much quicker load times on doors.

Humor aside, this was yet another biased review from xplay in which they are judging a wii game with xbox and ps3 standards. Wii is not the same as those "hardcore" consoles. And why is sessler judging the style of the game? That's just a matter of preference. I think futuristic cowboy japanese settings are cool >:(

When will you accept that the game has flaws, and just because it has awesome swordplay, upgrades, and graphics doesn't automatically mean it deserves 4 or 5 stars? I admit, I disagree with most of the things that they said in this review, and I think that RS1 should've gotten 2 stars (as RS2 is WAY BETTER), but I think 3 stars is a fine score for RS2.

honestly fuck x play they rarely have new episodes anyway i remember when they used to be on tech tv then they went and merged with g4 and ruined everything by showing cops all day and cheaters basically stuff that has nothing to do with video games or technology. The only 3 shows left are X play, attack of the show, and mabye web soup. What happened to Arena,and all those other good shows.

I actually agree with this review, a good wii game is a decent game when compared to the other consoles. The main story is pretty cool and the controls are much, much better than the first, but theres absolutely no replay value. Ubisoft can't expect people to pay 60$ for a game they're only going to play once.

I think X-Play is right with this review. It is actually a positive review because it highlights how fun it is, but face it - its just filler until the next Mario, Metroid & Zelda come.
Its good filler, but its filler. Its worth your time & money, because its short & sweet.

Huh, no replay value? So basically today's game needs tons of unnecessary unlockables and a tacked on multiplayer with even more unnecessary unlockables to be considered a classic. If you can't see the old school 80's/90's brawler goodness that is Red Steel 2, then you probably just started playing games now.
It's like saying the original Double Dragon, or the original Shinobi had no replay value, and that would be a stupid thing to say.

This game is amazing in every way, it's fine tuned shooting, swordfighting and everything else. It's graphics top anything on the system yet, fuck you xplay and have a bad day :)

i have been watching xplay for years and have been caught on on gamespot too but sadly they are both becoming xbox and ps3 fanboys. the wii has a FEW good worthy tittles and redsteel 2 should be one of them. Adam Sessler disappointed me big time with this review.

Bought RS2 the other day, and this review definitely underrated it. Most other well-known reviewers gave this game 8's and above, GameStop gave it a 10. Honestly this is one of the best games I've seen on the Wii, and if you're unsure, pick it up @ Blockbuster and try it out.

The first battlefront on Xbox was fun, but extremely flawed. Just look at where the franchise is at now with BF:BC2. 3 out of 5 was generous.

People are acting as if 3/5 is a bad score. I've played the game and I personally think it deserves 8/10. It's be no means a spectacular game, but it's pretty damn fun. If you bother to actually listen to the review, most of what Adam says is positive.
