  • I think Rekha has that 'look'. Nothing innocent, but definitely the experienced tawaif.

Check her out in Utsav too.

  • No comparison from Rekha

  • Magnificent creepy acting too by Shaukat (Kaifi) Azmi, mother of Shobana, as the toad-like Madame. Shobana herself played the equivalent part in the rather dismal recent remake with Aishwarya Rai in the title part.

  • Elegance

  • This has got to be one of the greatest songs of all times of the sub-continent. Well done, and thanx, Demonfromsky.

  • beautyful Urdu song, the world most sweet&expressive langauge Urdu,

    Urdu itself poetry&music

Urdu is name of civilization and culture.

  • nice ghazal i like verey much.........

  • rehka ...so beautiful... elegant.. look..lovely colour combination ..the dresss the makeup

  • AMAZING

  • Sarangi Wah!!! Is it Ustad sultan Khan ?I hope so Rakha zindabad.,Rakha much much better and graceful Umrao Jaan and professional actor then Aishwarya Rai.Definitely by miles

  • so original ........instruments sound is soothing to ears.......& nobody can compete with Rekha.

  • Realy classic

  • wow.kia baat hee jinaab. kia akee, kia masti, mee to abi see dewana bangaya.

  • Is she the real singer for all these songs?

  • after 1980 film industry gone to bad worse till to date except this movie and chahsme bud-door

  • यहाँ रेखा है अच्छी तरह से प्रस्तुत किया.

  • great

  • a fine Ghazal from Umrao Jaan

an elegant dancer entertains us in an

    exquisite setting. Pure pleasure...

  • This is all time hit.

  • excellent song, but does anyone know the tabla beats for it?

  • it's in kaharwa (8 beats) various bols of kaharwa are used throughout....

  • thank you

  • one of the best indian made movies

  • amrao jaan was a fiction story.... but it was writen so beautifully that it really looked real and super good.. cheers..

  • rekha is a so perfect in this movie and she was much better than the one with aishawary ria

  • rehka is sooooooooooooo hot!!!!

  • REKHA.

  • rekha is some where.... ash...is no where near rekha ji....ash is techinically good...but rekha is with full of life....too good.

  • ok so comparing this to ash's Salaam from the more current Umrao Jaan, they both kind of do the opposite thing, but they both look great. Rekha is very very flowing and ash is has very very sudden movements

  • wonderfull cette chanson elle tue c un truc de ouf

  • Ash never came close to Rekha in the remake.

  • @Sekhmet3 i like both but to be honest rekha is all platic now ...

  • @Sekhmet3 She never be any closer than the old timers.

  • It's really wonderful. Legend Old is Gold. Tribute to Luknow family.

  • This Umrao Jaan must have truly been a legend. I wonder what she really looked like...

  • no match of this song @ al!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is the actual mujhra slow N melodius

  • Umrao jan is my favorite movie. Uncountable time I have watched it. One thing is very special for this movie. Rekha Ji did not know Urdu language before this movie. She specially learned Urdu for this movie only in month.

    saqib Sana

    Riyadh KSA

  • My fav.

  • Great Song

  • Wonderful son. Muzaffar Ali made great efforts to get the costumes and all the details just right. A lot of research went into the culture of the area before making this film.

BTW it was Umrao Jan and not Umrao Jan ada. The later was a Pakistani film. This one is of course Indian.

  • Thank you for ur appreciation & correction of name.

  • Welcome. Please also note how romantic the Sarangi sounds. Just perfect no!?

There is something about traditional instruments that is very special. Somehow a keyboard or electric guitar can never produce an effect that even comes close to this.

  • true ! dats y every 1 is singer unlike old days. coz these days singers r taking 50% help from technology .

  • thats true for many singers however there are still really unbelievable singers and musicians out there who don't rely on technology to make their voices better
