@spectrumnaut The friend who inspired the song is a woman, and the song was written when she first told me she was born in the wrong body-when she was still living life as a man. I don't think that pronouns are very important in the song either way, however. I could easily replace the "hims" with "hers" and the song would still mean something. I hope you still find meaning in the song.

yeah. After listening to it again I was rather harsh on it, especially since it was coming from someone who can relate.

What did throw me off is I couldn't tell if the song was about a male or female. The whole thing talks about a "he" but then after listening to the lyrics it sounds like it's referring to an MTF rather than the opposite in which case it should be read as "she" as if a man was born in the wrong body, that would mean he would be in that of a female's body and vice versa.
