I was touched off by your video and made tigerMoth.

This airplane flies really slowly. It was moved deeply.

It is a radio controller after an interval of 15 years.

My Tiger Moth is running with a IPS with Li-Po 2S 900mAh Mistery.

The motor is so weak... when the voltage hits below 3,6V, the power isn't enough to stay flying.

I had changed the motor 2 times.

The original IPS with 9x7 prop by a brushless 1811 2000kV with 7x3,5"HD prop. Too much power and speed! xD

From the this brushless, the Tiger Moth returned to the IPS again.

...A hint: to not fold up wings put a carbon/bamboo stick in the top of the under wing just it.

does the feigao run really hot? how many mins. do you get out of the 800mah pack?

and does it have enough power just in case you need to climb out or get out of trouble?

i know the ips motor don't last and quite weak but before investing on the feigao . i have the gws pico F w/c is similar

but i think i should have gotten the moth

I get between 20 and 30 min on the 800, although I'm sure I can get longer, just don't want to hit LVC. It has enough power to fold the wings pretty easily if I want, but the idea was a motor that lasted a long time.

Sorry clicked "remove" on your comment instead of reply. GWS foam for their early models blows. Wish they'd update them. They also need to make a good small outrunner mount for the tigermoth.

i've had 2, flew them until they were so full fo epoxy they could fly no longer :S

then sold my radio gear and bought 2.4ghz system and an e-starter :D I'm having a lot of fun with that at the moment. I'm sure I'll get another moth though, maybe when the nice weather comes here.

If you build the tiger moth with an AR6300 reciever and blue bird servos you can make it insanely light.

any 2 Cell battery between 400-900Mah should work. Skip the NIMHs with this one.

just got mine out flying today it goes really nice like your one in the vid. mine is still the stock motor witht the gears. it sounds good on half throttle and it just flying slowly

Yeah I upgraded mine to a 12mm feigao motor. I got tired of replacing burnt out IPSes, and it gives me modestly more power too. I think I'd try a small outrunner if I built another one.

is it like crash resistant foam like if you crash will it break in half or snap the wing in half? and also, is it a good trainer for a beginner?

It is a great trainer, but it IS quite fragile, you do have to be careful about running it into the ground. If you get some simulator time in before you attempt flying the tiger moth there is no reason you should crash very much.

Yeah my power set up is a little lighter than stock so I have an 800 2 cell in there that I also use for the blade CX2 that I have posted. It flies a LONG time.

Tiger Moth is a good choice, small, cheap, light, flies slowly and flies a long time on a single battery.
