  • nuff alto saxs?

  • lolwtf i played this in 5th grade

  • lol 9th grade i played this in 5th

  • I feel bad saying this, but i agree with criticofbands456. I played it for my 10th grade just as a fun song to play, and it sounded much better than this. I'm sorry, but i disagree with you in superior rating, unless the judges were your parents.

  • @t2nunu88 probably because the camera is so close to the percussion section

  • 0:50 Clarinet sounded a little off tone

  • @CHEESEmyASS Because Were That Awesome!

  • People r sooooooooooo mean ignore the comments below me they're a bunch of idiots

  • Why are there like a gazillion trumpets?

  • Why dont i hear the baritones on the melody here?

  • Talking in the middle of the song? Really????? Snares are too loud though. Feels a little slow too.

  • The snares just drown out the rest of the band........ i mean my band just started playing this and we do alot better than these guys.

  • the snare drum is too loud ahhh!

  • guys who cares they did a good job if you could do better fantastic that doesent mean you say you suck assholes!

  • I saw some of them talking. D: Band members can't talk when their playing songs. This band is HORRIBLE. Can't accept this.

  • im horrified by this band! snare drum off tempo nearly whole song low brass were holding back and you couldnt hear them. people were talking during rests! you should have your horn up to your mouth and have omnisure set one measure before you are cued in! this band is terrible and superior rating my rear end!

  • :(

  • I played this in 6th grade. it was easy and fun

We did it so much better than them.

  • you guys suck my band took this to NYSSMA and we got GOLD w/d my band could kicks ur bands ass anytime anywhere and im in 7th u ever want to see a real band search "etms band" and click on the one that says "blues brothers medley" in the description box.supiorior rating my ass

  • ya i played this in 7th grade. reiginals band :D

  • Respond to this video... epic failure

  • First get some technique in playing the snare drum, then buy a new snare, damn u suck!

the timpani player is looking like he cant play his part :s

  • Wow. Get a new snare dude -__-

  • played this in 5th grade !

  • Trumpet section sucks!

  • im playin this and im in7th grade and we cant play this song better because we did not sound like a train wrek lollolololololololololololo.....ect.

  • 1:23 off beat

  • LOUDER TIMPANI!!! I CANT HEAR U

  • Woahhhh...hair...

    2:03

  • 22 altos. Are u serious. our band sounds awesome with 3 altos and we are in the top band. 3 altos, a tenor, and a bari. I am the bari sax player. It is a step up. We go to Spillane Middle School. You really need that many altos for your band to hear the altos or for the altos to sound good. Wow!

  • if they were performing for judges...why is everyone looking around?!

  • i play it this year in 7th grade band at truman middle school

  • you guys fucking suck

  • I Played this year. And im in 7th grade! WAYYYYYYYYYY TOOOOOO SLOW!!!!!

  • Well if it wasn't for the oboe the song is a bust. Well you can play the oboe part with a trumpet with a mute.

  • i just played this song tonight

  • I must say and I dont even critisize much... the temp need be faster

  • i played this song in 8th grade... we we're better than the original =P

  • Doesnt sound like a ninth grade band =/

  • My band is doing this piece and were on grd but it is hard the part that I don't like is that I'm the ONLY french horn and if I mess up nobody can fix it :/ I'm scared !

  • @nonned1, you don't have to be so rude about it, I'm just saying that I've herd better versions of it. That's all.

  • @Nonned1 u don't have to be such a Nazi about it I'm just saying I've herd better versions.

  • Our band played this in grade 8 and won the gold at regionals :) This was an amazing piece! I still have the sheet music and play occasionally

  • AHHHHH SRARE!! ohh nd you cant year the awesome low range clarinet part :(

  • terable, im in 7th grade and we played jingle bells better than how they played this!

  • @imaudie43 first off: Jingle bells? in 7th grade? i'm in 7th grade and we're playing songs like this such as prarie dances and air for band. second: As far as I know, this is harder than jingle bells, so a comparison between the two would be really retarted.

  • D: tempo slowed down by a bazillion bpm!?

  • Dang, we own you guys and all we've done so far is sight read.! (not to be mean)

  • Comment removed

  • this is at the end of the season for yall correct? ok my high school band got this in january and we do much better... and we have half as many people or less... i mean come on we have two tubas (one of which is me) two baritones two french horns five trumpets about sic flutes and four or five clarinets... anyway awsome music :D

  • why cant we have 4 f-horns! we only have 2 and im 1 of them my conductor is constantly saying play louder lol

  • Anyone notice there's NO BLACK PEOPLE in that band group? just sayin'.

  • LOL 9th grade?? I played this song in 7th

  • @Kysarety Same playing this song for my concert bass clarinet FTW :D

  • @Kysarety Haha you mean. were playin it too though

  • @Kysarety heres your cookie...enjoy it

  • @Kysarety same here lol i play trumpet u?

  • @Kysarety LOL, music isn't graded on what leve it's played, it's graded on the skill of the player. I could play a 5th grade piece with emotion and style and still win state finals.

  • @Kysarety same lol

  • @Kysarety lol same

it was my favorite song of the year

  • @Kysarety me too!

  • @Kysarety I'm playing it in 8th kesh kesh

  • @Kysarety i played it in 8th

  • those eighth notes that are SUPPOSED to crescendo and decrescendo sounded all bunched together, sounded icky and didn't crescendo and decrescendo, and french horns are really laggy. And only being in eighth grade, you shouldn't take a lot of criticism, but just to let you know. I have the trumpet solo and I can do VIBRATO!

  • I've got what that trumpet soloist doesnt have...VIBRATO SUCKA!

  • wtf red hair trombon

  • i might add the description makes me laugh for the lack of talent in the video and the promise it holds

  • snare overload!!!!

  • To sloooooow

  • @kevinaxx

    I learned it in seventh.

  • @geowrockk755 me 2. were playing it, we just started today.

  • @geowrockk755 i did tooo~~

  • i learned how to play this in 8th grade!

  • Anyone notice that the percussion didnt make a fast enough crescendo in the begging when the train was supposed to go from slow to fast? so they went fast to just extremely fast. I'm in 8th grade and play way softer than them. the have to learn dynamics!!!!

  • trop lennt :S

  • well it was a good job but the band was quite out of tune and when the flute did their train whistle part it didnt sound the way its supposed to. and the tempo was quite slow.

  • DAM THATS A LOT OF FLUTES O_O

    our band only has 8

  • @loveramy1314

not even my middle school band had almost 20 flutes

  • dude, how many flutes do you have? my band has like 6.

  • wow we are gonna play this song in 8th grade you guys have alot more flutes then us we have 4

  • way to loud snare parts are rushed alot i know it is fast but still

  • way to loud snare parts are rushed alot

  • @jeremy42042 yes they are, i would know. i played snare in this song. my buddy would rush like craisy.

  • Tuba FTW!

  • You a-hole. Thinking you know what you're talking about

  • IMusicGasm. Whatever they recorded the music with can distort the sound. The snare was really close too. They wouldn't have made a superior rating if the judges didn't catch that

  • @RiccoSwave911 Yeah I know that a recorder can distort the sound, but , the sound was not all distorted and that im sorry to say was not the best performance ever. And I might add, I do know what I'm talking about. The snares were the worst part i think.

  • the flutes were kinda out of tune and i know that you have to roll in to make it sound like a train whistle but it was kinda hard on the ears, and i think that snare drum really takes alot from the song, all you hear when you listen to this is pounding and it hardly settles down, and i think dynamics should of been better oh and i know its exciting to perform but dont forget you need to watch your conductor and keep all the same tempos :D Just alittle bit of tips for when you may play it again.

  • @iMusicGasm amen, watch your director. i have heard that like 8000 times.

  • this is a awesome song, when played right -_-

everything seemed a bit messy and out of time

Plus there are no BBb tubas (that i saw anyway) you need them for a better sound quality (i play this in my band btw :P)

this is, personally, the best song in our band :D

  • Wired. I know right. It ain't no band without a Bari sax

  • Not a single Bari Sax. Tsk Tsk.

  • snare drum is WAAAAAAAY too loud. Geez, it's a train, not an atom crushing factory!! and im sorry but the trumpets r ok, but everyone else is mostly terribly out of tune. I'm not trying to insult you, I'm trying to help you improve. And the maracas r pretty loud too! sorry.

(I play this as a trumpet in 8th grade, im 13 and i think this song is soooo easy.

  • @droxgirl Heh, so do I, and I am an Alto Sax.

  • @TodayHi1953 oh wow ur part is like the hardest

  • Snare drum, you're killing me. :(

  • @sesiom3005 my band is playing this. I'm snare and I sure don't pound it like a hammer. maybe when we perform it I can show ya?

  • im playing that song in my band and i have the french horn solo. That was great!

  • at 0:25 the clarinet soloist messed up. he played G and it was supposed to play G#

  • @madcbara haha i noticed that as well

  • @madcbara if that just was the only problem...

  • you guys need to speed up thats like half the actual tempo, and i do agree your out of tune

  • you guys need to speed up this is like half the speed of the song

  • they didn't tune. it's sounds really good but just out of tune.

  • so many alto sax's!!! tune the instruments please

  • euphonium FTW!! :D better yet....LOW BRASS FTW!!!!!

  • no audience

  • that was painful..oboe.....tenor sax FTW!!!!!!

  • no offense but i dont see how yall got superior on this we played this for our fall concert and we did much better our snare wasn't that loud. you have a huge band though. cabasa sounds lost in times. i played bass drum. :D yall are supposed to slowly speed up1:05 yall did speed up but we did our very slowly! so that it sound like a real train was starting up.

  • The oboe's outta tune hehe i love the oboe xD

  • Comment removed

  • Trombone ftw.

  • Meh,their ok.I konw ur supposed to but the way they focus on their music when they count cracks me up.I dont even count any more i just listen and play.

  • i play trumpet, and wow you have alot, btw the trumpet solo with clarinets, play louder, its SOLO

  • u guys went a little tooo fast in the slow parts and a little bit too loud throughout its a hard song to play throughout but comeon. Otherwise good BTW i am a 1st trombone player in a middle school band

  • im playing this for my band concert and i hav to say... WE SOUND BETTER! lol but thers a good drummer ther ^^

  • You guys sound almost exactly like our band, but with lots of French horns, versus our overkill on trumpets. The snare drummer is good, though he dosn't watch Ms. Fowler enough.

  • this is pathetic -.-

  • Were playin this in my eighth grade band and I just wanna say 2 things:

    1) your brass section falls behind in the sets of eigth notes

    2) my conductor is better cause he has a mohawk haha :)

  • nice hair flip 0:42

  • need to work on the tempo change and its out of tune. but it does sound good other than that. my band is playing this right now

  • to slow

  • I'm in 4th grade and we are playing this song... We played it so much better than u guys and you guys were really out of tune...you guys suck

  • @brandon1752 :P well we will never know unless your video is on youtube or on the internet... so please dont brag and stfu

  • we play 10 times better than you and we suck

  • im in 7th grade and we play it better...no offense yu guys playeed it amazin

  • Tempo does drop and the kids are distracted and your snare is out of tune and way too loud the band sounds good but not in tune!

  • im in 6th grade and we are doing this song and im on timpani and it is really fun to play

  • VERY out of tune.

In the begginning, instead of a REAL crescendo, the band started off too loud, which left the emphasis of the end of the sentence lacking. It made a bad first impression.

  • @MARRYMENJ

yeah there is crescendo in the begining but there not that bad, although the trumpets could have done better [cool french horn solo]

  • Tubas cant center their pitch, youre usind the wrong mallets for percussion, Trumpets have bad tone, clarinets need to be tuned and need to be louder, Euphoniums need to be MUCH louder, Tempo kinda drags, but other than that, it sounds okay, but the middle-schoolers suck at it.

  • My band is going to start playing this tomorrow and my band director suggested we go on Youtube to hear the sound. I'm not sure how accurate this is as to how good it is and how it's supposed to sound, but I at least have an idea. I'm a 7th grade percussionist and I can't seem to figure out where these train sounds are going to come from!

  • idk why some one gave ripshorty pie a poor comment hes not lying for snare it is iv seen the music the peice is awesome

thats a massive school for nineth grade i must say around where i live there are very few schools that size amaing playing

there were no problems with it it gets a 1 for superiority, why is it 3 and a half stars?

  • haha hot director

  • Omg! My band and the eighth grade band are playing this! I play snare, and it's sixteenth notes for basically 100 measures! Good Job

  • i wanna play snare

  • @ripshortypie1 i play snare too, this song is so tiring hahaha, very fun though

  • this sucks

  • wow this band is very SAXual ;)

  • I did this song in 7th grade

  • holy crap thats a huge band with ALOT of saxes

  • cant hear the clarinets

  • i can play this song on clarinet!

  • You didn't do all the "HAAAA"s.

  • HAHA!!! my eight great band does that!!!!

  • It's the most fun part! lmao. XD

  • dude my band is like at least half the size and we sound better than you. you guys have way too many saxophones and flutes

  • wow it is true the bands do go hella slow on this song

  • Oboe gets to loud at sometimes, french horns need way clearer tounging

  • snare is playing WRONG rythum

  • you cant even hear the clarinets.

  • yall dnt hav enough bass

  • Tempo drops a lot in the calm part, and the whole band is very out of tune.

The snare is way too loud. I know it's hard to play this fast quietly, but it's all about finger technique. I play this myself in our band at the moment.

Other than that, it sounds good!

  • @azzi777 i disagree. i played snare in this piece and i think it is quite easy to play this quietly. actually it is easier to play this quietly than it is to play loudly. i would know, i played at troy university on december 3, 2010. i met robert w. smith too. our band gave him a picture.

  • @azzi777 you got that right, other than the other problems they had (which were a lot) french horns gotta pick it up, i play french horn and its no problem to play but their worst parts were at the solos which they shouldn't all be playing in the first place. shame on you conducter

  • Comment removed

  • Wow you need to tune and you can't even hear the clarinets. But its ok :)

  • The person playing the snare was great, but the snare is supposed to be A LOT quieter.

    But props to you guys~

  • Wow this is great ! :)

I played this song in the Symphonic Band (for 7th and 8th graders) 2 years ago, when i was a 6th grader.

    :) Great Job.

  • tuning! gahhh! well at least your flutes were in tune. ours weren't.

  • your oboes werent in tune. like at all. the solos were like 10 cents flat at least. decent otherwise.

  • The snar player is so good!!!

I thought the whole band could have done better. It wasn't the best. But still good.

I cant get over on how good the snar player is!

  • my concert is tuesday and im in 7th grade and the tempo in our band is faster! i love this song! and it is easy! i play clarinet.

  • props to the snare player! i know from experiance that snare part is hard to keep up

  • to fast

  • it's actually supposted to be faster

  • i played this in 7th grade on trumpet, it was sooo easy but it was fun

  • I am 15 years old! I love to play this song I play alto sax =] I have been in band since I was in 4th grade!

  • me too!!!

  • way better than my schools band
