I'd like to build a 3000 ft home in the NE USA out of these. Can you suggest a source for information on how to? I would act as my own general contractor. If I get archtc's involved the project would cost more than conventional builds.. Is this something that can be done quicker and less costly than traditional building?

must be exspensive because none of the sites i,ve seen say how much a shipping container costs new or used.

You can get a 40ft shipping container on craigslist for about $2250, or a 53ft one for $2400... that's just the prices I see around my area.

With Container Homes, you could build a small city that can be evacuated in times of a crisis, e.g. Katrina, Hurricanes, Nukes, etc.

Just evacuate everyone out to the sea and rebuild where ever you want/can.
