Whomever debates their religion over others are hypocrites. Whether you worship God, Buddha, Allah, and so on you will be loved by the universe, the alpha and the omega, he that is, he that was, and he who shall ever be. Understand the beauty of this sung in Aramaic and you will feel a strong connection to your higher power...whatever/whomever that may be for you.
How do you dislike a song when it's sung in such a beautiful ancient language? 38 of those people must have been religious extremists.Get off your high-horses and keep an open mind.
When I arrive someday in heaven, I would like to ask God to send me for a little while back to the time and place to see how Lord Jesus teach this prayer to His disciples
The most powerful words in the Human language, in any language. Direct instruction from Jesus as to how to pray. How humbling and revealing. This version is very pleasing to the ears. Saying it with your own voice to your heart is very pleasing
It's not about all in the languge that this prayer it's spoken,it's about what feelings and thoughts you load in the words of prayer,no matter what kind of religion you belong. Anyway, this music is touching my soul so deeply, even if I know Lord's prayer only in my native language and english... I think that IndiaJiva can sing this in any language, the feeling that they are sending it will be the same - beautiful...
To me a god is something that explains the things you cannot explain. Then how do you explain god? I prefer to just leave them all as unexplained. There is no miracle in a rainbow it is just diffraction of light that humans are able to see. I doubt a dog would be able to see one but that give a rainbow more value or less because it is denied to some creatures.
@baird55aus The Lord is perfection... the vibration and essence in which we all live... it needs no explanation cuz HE IS, HE WAS AND HE WILL BE... The essence of creation and the meaning of all life as you know it. For Him there is no equation for HE IS THE EQUATION. But then again whether you wanna see Him or not is your choice. Because the gift he gave His own creation.... was named and still is FREE WILL. All life is beautifull for it resides within Him. I hope this gives u some light.
My English teacher in my final year of high school spoke and read Aramaic and had been a priest. He had visited the Vatican as a priest and during his studies there he read various documents written in Aramaic. He lost his faith as a result of the doubts it gave him. I respected him a lot when he told us this. Faith is like that - you either have it or don't. I personally don't but I also don't have any problem with people who do.
@baird55aus In the most sincere way I find your declaration interesting. How do you, or do you, reconcile the life we have here on Earthwith no faith? Do you know that the moon is exactly the correct diameter and the exact distance between the Earth and Sun so that when we have an solar eclipse the moon blocks all but the Aurora. It is this fact that proved Einsteins theory of relativity. Do you have any idea what miracles it takes to make a rainbow happen? Just light thru water...ya right.
Is the pronunciation correct? I heard the Lords Prayer on othr youtube videos & its totally difft. She sings Ameyn too many times but overall it's lovely
About 40 years ago I heard a biblical scholar's talk about the Aramaic definition of I AM. The epiphany I got that morning anchors my connection to the One God. I think the speaker's name is Rocco Erico. I'd really like enjoy more writings on this concept of the I AM--the temple within.
I want to learn Aramaic just because Jesus spoke it!!!! It is sad that this This is really beautifu!!!!! lt sucks that this langauge is endangered : (
although i don't understand a word of it, i am so humbled to hear the language that Jesus has spoken during his time with us. this music melts my soul, thanks for posting.
@micknm The language is Aramaic, not Arabic. It is the oldest language known. Keep trying though, you might find something the gaelic language inspired besides plunder and colonialism
@jerdeb4evr "The language is Aramaic, not Arabic. It is the oldest language known." Mmmm, that's still up for debate. We know that Egyptian and Sumerian are pretty close together as to being the oldest written language (even way before Sanskrit). No two historians/linguists have the same views as far as oldest spoken (and oldest still spoken) languages are concerned. There are way too many factors that come into play for them to all settle on one final answer.
This is the most beautiful thing I ever heard! Who cares whether the dialect is correct or not? This is the language that Yeshua spoke over 2000 years ago. I learned this in Aramaic by heart because of these beautiful lyrics. When singing or speaking the Lord's prayer in Aramaic do you think he would really care if "the dialect was off"??
If you listen to it in both Eastern & Western dialects of Syria it comes very close to how IndiaJiva is singing it. Praise be to God.
Once one knows the true and complete meaning of the words that were spoken, coupled with the deep vibratory nature of the same voiced in Aramaic, the awakening truly lifts the soul far beyond any fuss pertaining to the same. I just want to say I am Assyrian and we still speak the Aramaic language. We sing these prayers every Sunday at church. The Aramaic language is still spoken to this day by all the Assyrians around the world.
i am not religious ,though baptised at six weeks of age. This is haunting and fascinating that the person named Jesus may have sounded like this long ago. I believe a person of is name li ved , but anything else .phftt.
@Wanch1e1ady I'm about in the same situation as you. However there's one important thing about Jesus of Nazareth (absent in Christianity) : the vision of one forgiving humanity, who has the same "father" in common. There's no will to dominate others or to impose it's belief. The prayer itself shines by it's simple and clear humanitarian message. "Our father who is in heaven" is interchangeable, if you're an atheist, but the truth in it is pure common sense.
No, the accent does not matter that much. Think about it, it's a language spoken over two thousand years ago, It's pretty much impossible to pronounce it in the "original" accent.
This is one of my favorite songs. I can't believe you flagged me as spam because i spoke the truth. Can anyone seriously think they can pronounce words like Jesus did? That, my friends, is hubris.
It is a shame that people here claiming to speak syriac, and can't understand the different between eastern and western dialect. This is actully syriac or if you wish aramaic with the eastern dialect
Completely agree, The only people today that speak Aramaic are the Semitic Assyrians. Also, the only place to precisely learn their ancient language is in their Assyrian Church (few hold classes). It's not a language to be found anywhere else, which is why historians and scholars say the Assyrians and their language are on the verge of extinction, as they're numbers are rapidly dwindling as a minority in Middle East.
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come. Holy, Holy, Holy art Thou, our Father in heaven. Heaven and earth are full of the greatness of Thy glory, angels and men cry out to Thee: Holy Holy Holy art Thou... Amen, Amen, Amen...
(this should be close to being transliterated to English)
I spoke the Syrian/Aramaic language in a distant past life, and although I am unable to in this life, I find it very spiritually uplifting, and am able to feel the power within its words as she sings it so beautifully.
This one isn't as precise as the other Aramaic (Assyrian) prayer posted by Aramaic12. That one seems like the ancient/archaic language that's still preserved today in Assyrian churches, via the Assyrian people.

@Manhatten312 The accent is not the point. It is the incredibly deep meaning and spirituality of the prayer sung in Aramaic. There are millions of people who don't realize the importance of Aramaic in the message of Yeshua Mashiach. It is so deep and beautiful there are tears streaming down my face.
Accent is the point, because it changes the tone, language, and ultimately meaning. If you're looking for an authentic Aramaic prayer, one that sounds and is the language of Our Father, view Aramaic12's "The Lords Prayer in Ancient Aramaic." It's so touching. Or, if truly touched, visit an Assyrian Church and hear it in their sermon.
@Manhatten312 I took your advice and listened to Aramaic12. Those two dialects sound different. If non-native speakers sing prayers in those dialects, respectfully and with reverence, I've no problem, even if not perfect. However, I agree, ultimately, precise interpretation of language is most important. I'd enjoy an ancient Aramaic sermon. Sadly, there's no such gathering here. Indiajiva's accent may not be perfect but the depth of feeling did spark my interest in this culture.
@zoropeace Do you bantering fools really believe that if you pray, like this as the Lord advised, your accent matters? You believe the lord is bound to the noise made by your mouth rather than the vibration from your soul?
Too bad there are fools on here spamming decent comments! What happened to Jaco773's post that had highest rating? What nonsensical illiterate would spam such a respectful comment?
when I think about the beauty that God gives to us like the dew on the ground or a sunbeam through a forest or natures sounds, I think of the beauty our response is to him and how will this has been achieved in this prayer song. I think he would be well pleased.
@jaco773 that isnt aramaic youre right .. thats the old aramaic and i am aramaic i live in germany and im very proud that i am one and this language is very beautiful i feel sorry for people who arent aramaic but in some years as it looks now our folk will be away it will be die out ... -.-
Aramaic is written in either Syriac (Assyrian) Aramaic, or Hebrew (Israeli) Aramaic. Syriac Aramaic (Assyrians) is the ancient form, which is the language Jesus spoke.
I love so much this video.. I like this song.. can you tell me the lyrics? and to translatge.. blesses to the christians in the middle east.. they speak many languages..
Ce chant sacré est universel...Je vous remercie et que la Paix soit sur vous et chacun...I will try to translate, this sacred song is universal...I thank you and be the Peace be for you and everyone ( sorry if not 100´% translated, i tryed to do my best)
Why so many posts arguing about a dead language? The music is both sad and beautiful just as Jesus might have been when contemplating the task ahead. That's really all that matters, isn't it?
@daisy1142 its not dead language, we still speak it, this is our assyrian language.and we are prude to speak it . and guess what ?the language of Jesus will never die
Brothers and sisters please look to my channel and see by testimony from our Father. He word to me needs to get out. Thank you and may our Father bless you and keep you.
whilst I do not hold to any particular religious belief, I do hold to the intent of the message rather that any one body represented...and this is really beautiful. Thank you.
I am sitting in my office while this is playing; and i don't know if the chills i feel are from the cold room or this song. Most likely the song! This song is beautiful and beautifully sung. If this is the language of My Lord Jesus-Oh My! Baruch atta Adonai! vc
@cockatoococker Hey there.. You can go to any Assyrian church and they usually teach i... or ill message you this site where you can learn online.. Good luck.
Gesus was mastering in the Yeshiva that is the religious school of the Hebrew people is not enoff to know something and than to think that is all ?no the language he spoke is ARAMIT and ARAMAIC are near the same different to ASSIRYAN both are old language the way they change is the mix with they nearbourgs And with the timeadding new words as the intellect grown with the material necessity.....BUT GOD and the PROFETS ARE LOVE AND ONE WITH EVERY BODY WHO IS PURE OF HEARD....ONES IN ONE.IN GOD...
i think Aramaic people , specially Syriac Orthodox is a religious nation ...NO place for such ideologies like National propaganda .. we are Lord's sheep .... no need to other identities .
You're exactly right. I think it's even more ridiculous that people believe this is what the ancient language merely sounds like.
There are, however, greater aramaic posts on this site (Syriac Aramaic/Assyrian). One is posted by Aramaic12, called "The Lord's Prayer in Ancient aramaic." It's excellent, and nail on!
The name assyrian/assyrer is also an English invention that goes back to the early 1900s. There were Nestorians in the Mosul region 1919-1920 and the purpose was purely political, and anything but noble. The idea was that creating a military unit of the Nestorian youth, called the Assyrian/ASSYRER for use in the realization of the politicians' plans for Iraq, plans, however, failed in 1933 and ended with a life-long banishment of the Nestorians Catholicos and his fellow travelers from the Middle east
Your inept knowledge and poor language is proof of such ignorance. Please educate yourself, as well as your fellow Swedes. Scandinavians shouldn't live in ignorance forever. They're some of the most atheist people in the World, according to the census of the Swedish and other Scandinavian nations. Shame.
After having crushed the Assyrian empire in 612 BC. founded the Babylonian Arameans in Babylon a great empire, which is known under the names "the second Babylonian empire" and "the Chaldean Empire" after the Aramean tribe Kaldu. Known from this kingdom is King Nebuchadnezzar that drove the Jews from Palestine in exile in Babylon. But this mighty empire could not endure any longer.
@Jaco773 Abun d-bashmayo nithqadash shmokh tithe malkuthokh nehwe sebyonokh aykano d-bashmayo oph bar`o hab lan lahmo d-sunqonan yowmono washbuq lan hawbayn wahtohayn aykano doph hnan shbaqan l-hayobayn lo ta`lan l-nesyuno elo paso lan men bisho metul d-dylokh hi malkutho whaylo wteshbuhto l`olam `olmin Amin This is in aramaic / suryoyo, so shut your mouth now. God spoke Aramaic, and he destroyed Ninve and killed the Assyrians, 612.BC
It states Assyrians will be punished for their militaristic arrogance. They were not destroyed as a people, for God states they will forever be the people of His hands, as the Egyptians His people, and the Israelites His inheritance.
Muslims destroyed Assyrian empire- hence the predominance in the region. Even if you've never read the Bible, basic history lessons should have taught you such. Swedish educ. sys. is notoriously poor, but is it this much of a failure?!
@Jaco773 from where did you get your basic information? there was no power for Assyrian when Islam came!! you deleted many stages the area went through included the rule of Arab states Pre Islam then Arab Christine by the tribes such as Gassanids and Lekmid.. then Islam came !!!
@Manhatten312 did I say something else? I said there was no Assyrian when Islam came (sons of Quriash and Tema ) at the Time of Assyrian there were Arab at the name Qedar and Nabatean. There were queens of Qedar who fought against Assyrian.
Strabo, called the Assyrian empire and the people of the Syrian empire and Syrians. Strabo called incorrectly the Assyrian Empire and the Assyrians in Syria. If this were true why would oppose Strabo himself by writing "Those who call themselves Arameans, those we call for the Syrians." It was natural for Herodotus to use the term Syrians on the people of the geographical Syria, because it was the name of the whole area, and this misled some Greek historians. One of these was Strabo

Accent seems a little off, or at least they are pronouncing syllables at the beginning of a few words, that arab speakers may have stripped off.
jeditight 4 weeks ago
@jeditight They are Indian I think "Indiajiva". But it's good anyways.
gestlo 4 weeks ago
@jeditight the accent used is the Judaic Aramaic ( Aramit Yehudit ) instead of the Syriac Modern Aramaic, which sounds like Arabic.
That's why many of the words are directly transposed from Hebrew: ie:
Jewish Aramaic Used - Hebrew Cognate - English
Abwoon - Abah - Father
Nekadash - Yitkadash - Sanctify
Shmach - Shemcha - Your Name
Tiyiteh - Tiyten - Give us
Malchutuch - Malchutacho - Your Kingdom
and this goes on throughout the prayer, which every Hebrew Jew can recognize and translate.

There's no will to dominate others or to impose it's belief. The prayer itself shines by it's simple and clear humanitarian message. "Our father who is in heaven" is interchangeable, if you're an atheist, but the truth in it is pure common sense.

Aramaic is still spoken in Maaloula, Syria
DumbManiac 8 months ago 2
No, the accent does not matter that much. Think about it, it's a language spoken over two thousand years ago, It's pretty much impossible to pronounce it in the "original" accent.
MrProgrock 9 months ago
@MrProgrock its not the accent its the pronunciation

Completely agree, The only people today that speak Aramaic are the Semitic Assyrians. Also, the only place to precisely learn their ancient language is in their Assyrian Church (few hold classes). It's not a language to be found anywhere else, which is why historians and scholars say the Assyrians and their language are on the verge of extinction, as they're numbers are rapidly dwindling as a minority in Middle East.
God Bless the Assyrians! God Bless!

This one isn't as precise as the other Aramaic (Assyrian) prayer posted by Aramaic12. That one seems like the ancient/archaic language that's still preserved today in Assyrian churches, via the Assyrian people.
God Bless us all.

This sounds nothing like Aramaic... clearly it has a very English accent. LOL
Aramaic12 posted a precise Aramaic video.
Nonetheless, a very soothing voice.
Manhatten312 10 months ago

Manhatten312 9 months ago

Aramaic is written in either Syriac (Assyrian) Aramaic, or Hebrew (Israeli) Aramaic. Syriac Aramaic (Assyrians) is the ancient form, which is the language Jesus spoke.

I really don't care if it is dead, alive or what ever. It is beautiful and I think this is a beautiful video for Jesus.
I also think he would want us to just be happy here in his present and not mad with each other over his song.
Debate is for other videos. This one is just too pretty.

The accent isn't as precise, but the instrumental and voice is indeed better than the other more precise Assyrian version.
I don't really struggle over accents or dialects, however, since ancient Assyrian is itself a form of Sumerian.

God Bless

@Jaco773 from where did you get your basic information? there was no power for Assyrian when Islam came!! you deleted many stages the area went through included the rule of Arab states Pre Islam then Arab Christine by the tribes such as Gassanids and Lekmid.. then Islam came !!!

Assyrians are long before those Muslims entered. It was only the Semitic Assyrians, Israelites, and Egyptians. Forget the Muslims.
God Bless the Assyrians, His chosen people, and God Bless us all!
