The xmas special was the greatest programme on TV in 2007, with a brilliant thought-provoking conclusion that sums up what every intelligent person feels about the soulless shitfest that the media industry has become. Everyone is obsessed with either being celebrities or watching celebrities and I only hope some people who watched the end rant were forced into opening their eyes and realising what a big pile of bollocks television has become.

Well, I absolutely loved the special. I'd never watched Extras before, but it looked good and had a David Tennant cameo (HUGE fan, obviously...).

And it was so good. It was brutally sad and funny and honest - all the stuff about never being famous enough - and just so brilliant :) And I don't really like Ricky Gervais, but Ashley Jensen was great, I felt so sorry for her character...

While The Office had moments of real genius this show has been formulaic from the outset..each episode follows the same script;1)Andy embarrasses himself or 2) Maggie embarrasses him in public 3) a well known guest star comes on and revelas themselves to be a right c**t 4)end with a bit of cod philosophy or pathos - Gervais is the 21st century Benny Hill!!!!!!!!

I was just talking about this... it was shown on HBO in the US, I've just returned from there and i don't want to spoil it for you but what ever you do... Don't miss it! - It's real and beautiful and i so laughed so did everyone, try to watch it alone if possible because you'll cry and you might find it embarrassing with friends...RJ and all concerned did a marvelous job!
