If you are against Gateway then do your best to avoid purchasing anything that uses the Port. Look for "Product of Canada" before spending your money.
You'll be sitting outside cause your river road property just got expropriated. And of course you can breathe in 100 times the diesel when the SFPR is filled 24hrs a day with truck traffic from delta port. Save your money, your gonna need an iron lung machine.
Again, I am still waiting to hear some new suggestions for economic development in Lower Mainland. Sounds to me there is a lot of champagne socialists here and people suffering from Urban Guilt. Perhaps paying attentiong to whats happening globally in the markets, transportation logistics and global supply chains, you will understand that either we are with the program or left out in the cold.
Great video revealing that Gateway will degrade our environment. Gateway in the GVRD makes no economic sense as it will cost taxpayers over 7 billion dollars in infrastructure to move a 300% increase in container trucks through farmland, communities and Burns Bog.
Who ever taped this did not do their homework or spend any time reading what Asia Pacific Gateway initiative is all about. I wonder how much Livable Region Coalition is paying to create this propaganda. Perhaps in the next documentary Damien will explain to us how he and LRC nay sayers plan on developing and diversifying our economy. Or perhaps explain to hard working truckers and shippers why they are destroying their livelihoods. Come on Damien, I am listening how would you do things better
If those hardworking truckers and shippers like fishing and golfing, or sailing on the weekend, they sure won't want to do it anywhere near the Fraser River or Strait of Georgia. What about quality of life? Where will they buy their food once we fill the farmland with railcars? And will their milk be too full of toxins to drink? Luckily there will be lots of jobs for doctors and nurses to look after those truckers' sick children.
By the year 2020 the lowermainland is projected to be the home of 7 million TEU's (containers) With current Upgrades to all lowermainland ports, there will be room for 9 million TEU's. The expansion of deltaport and the building of the south fraser perimiter road (all the western beginings of Gateway) Are complettly usless and unsistainable at the current trade ratio of 80/20. 80 containers in. 20 out. Impossible to sustain. This is short term gain for bureaucrats. don't kid yourself.
Great work Damien, I hope you continue to broadcast these issues and hidden agenda's in these movies. I love the in-your-face camera shot while David provided the one truthful comment.
Thanks Michael. I'm working on a feature documentary about Gateway right now and plan to continue posting little vignettes like this one throughout the process. I'll keep you posted with any new videos. -Damien

I assume a lot of these people don't leave on River Road in ND. All we do , daily, is breathe diesel fumes, houses that shake, window seal broken.
Is this what you call a "liveable " environment?
This project MUST tkae place. The sooner, the better..
Then I can sit outside again...

Better left in the cold with what we have than your nightmare of being heated in the frying pan of global warming.
