  • La banda de un reloj chocolatoso, todo un misterio en los sonidos de la sicodelia viajando por el lado mas oscuro de los hongos alucinojenos.

  • I'd love to have lived in the sixties... Just think only of the good music they played. Not only The Chocolate Watchband, but also many good, and straight good, bands... Those were times!

  • @monsterwheel What a decade it must've been, huh? I also missed the sixties by birth, though I feel I've taken trips to the sixties many a time.

  • I just read a review of a new CWB compilation that says that no member played on any of the instrumentals that were put on their albums as filler.

  • amazing psychedelia.

  • holy fuckin shit. this is the real psychedelic music of the 60s.

  • Dark side of the mushrooms,

    haahha

    fuuny :D

  • Music will never be like this again because they were limited to talent - not effects and looks. Plus, they had LSD, of the likes you won't ever get, and concentrated on blues playing blues while in a totally different world. I cry when I think I should have grown up in the 60's.

  • Bonjour, vous aimez les sixties ? écoutez et podcastez mon émission "le super son des 60's" sur le site de plumfm. You like the 60's ? please, listen and podcast my broadcast "le super son des 60's", connect to "plumfm". Salut et faites gaffe au rock and roll.

  • fucking love this song its so amazing

  • people try to gain some of the musics awesomeness, by wearing it around their necks like they are a part of the band. and defending it to let others know that they are awesome for listening to a certain band or genre. the truth is...its like Pokemon cards. who gives a fuck? music is just one aspect of life, if you want something to believe in and revolve around i have one word. JESUS. no joke.

  • If you'd like to hear some good modern music with that beautiful nostalgic sound, check out bands like The Go, Black Hollies, Buffalo Killers, or even Radio Moscow!!

  • @gustoworld Must be a fan of Alive Naturalsound Records! And I fucking love the The Go too, but I pretty much like anything that comes from Detroit. I just wish they would tour for once.

  • To me it sounds like nobody is really trying it for the fact they love music, it's just to now strictly a form of making money. Some bands don't ever at all consider the intelligence of their audiences who in fact are making the move to look back at the classic rock some new bands are lifting their licks from but not making the right sounds/lyrics/feel to go with what they picked up listening to older things before going with their own creativity if it's in them in the first place, usually not.

  • Interesting arguments that are going on here...I would agree with the "music of today sucks" people, but they seems to believe that all music today sucks...but it's mostly just mainstream music (nickleback, theory of a dead man, + all the other nickleback sound-alikes as well as all mainstream pop, rap, and mainstream country). Believe it or not, there are actually a couple of good pop bands out there (indie pop, that is, not mainstream...listen to The Sounds).

  • There are also quite a few good mainstream ones; The Presidents of the United States of America, Barenaked Ladies, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Counting Crows are good examples of that, although there isn't tanything new today that really sounds like the awesomeness of classic rock. It's just new stuff. Music is naturally going to evolve.

  • Really great band that sounds kinda similar is the Brian Jonestown Massacre...one of my favorites...have any of you guys heard them?

  • If it's in you, brothers, like Syd Barrett sang. If it's not, I'd never be able to convince you about the beauty and superiority of such music.

  • Drughead s from backhouse mental retard band FUCK YOU

  • "Call me when any of you learn how to rock." - 'cause you obviously have no clue and could use some lessons.

  • awesome !!!

  • i love the 60s and 70s but also today you can lishen to great bands...all you have to do is found them out there...fuck mtv...

Chocolate watchband and their ''inner mystique'' LP is a masterpiece...

  • also, Id rather here dudes throw random lyrics together and talk about mind alteration instead of constantly rapping about how much money they (dont really have), and bitch this, and I'm gonna shoot you that. Its fucking gutter level thinking. Also, musicians today think they deesrve an award for picking up an instrument. I hear such amateurish shit pass for music, its hiliarious.

  • THe 60s and 70s had bands both in the mainstream and the underground that were flat out incredible. I'm a Gen xer and I know music from all periods and I have an open mind, but music today SUCKS DICK, PERIOD. There are a FEW OK bands, but rap sux (and I liked it until 1990), hard rock is dead, bands like the KIllers do bad versions of great 80s underground. Trust me, todays musicians suck balls on every level.

Eventually something good will happen, but it's a real struggle.

  • "I brag about knowing a lot about music of all kinds and having an open mind, but I DON'T HAVE AN OPEN MIND. PERIOD." here, paraphrased it for you.

  • @Mithyus

    Spot on, friend!

  • @TheRealCritique

You gotta be kidding me? You're completely writing off today's music. You probably know the least about new music. Look you're comparing all new music to The fucking Killers? What the hell are you even talking about? Today's musicians suck balls? The Killers? The band that's on MTV and commercial radio? How about taking control, and finding new music. Why don't you listen to The Black Keys and then kindly shut the fuck up.

  • @Jomoand The Black Keys suck. ANother two man band with an amateur drummer - wow, I'm so impressed.

  • @TheRealCritique

Yup, it's today music. You wouldn't get it. Now go listen to My Morning Jacket, and kindly shut the fuck.

  • @Jomoand Wow, what a manly use of profanity you demonstrate.. There was little to get about the BKs. The singer was a decent bluesman. The drummer sucked ass, and the band thought it was channeling White Stripes. It proved my point exactly that this spoiled generation thinks it deserves an award for picking up an instrument instead of being good on it. Morning Jacket is so gay its ridiculous. Arcade Fire do that style far better. Call me when any of you learn how to rock.

  • @TheRealCritique

Channeling The White Stripes? You are so outta touch. It's My Morning Jacket, and watch the Conan video. Wait, did you just compare MMJ to Arcade Fire? That's like comparing all new music with The Killers...wait you did that. Your true colors are showing. The more and more you talk about music, the more and more you are exposed. You're exposed. Arcade Fire and MMJ are similar? You gotta be kidding me? Go listen to The Wooden Shjips and kindly shut the fuck up.

  • @TheRealCritique in this time we have bands that are in the mainstream and underground that are flat out incredible. It happened in the 60's, the 70's, the 80's, the 90's, the 00's and it still happens to this day. Now your definition of an incredible band is unclear, is it the musicianship or lyricism, their on stage presence or attitude? You throw out rap as a serious form of music, so i can see that you have no respect for music that you do not understand. Let me know

  • good old psyco melody for all the wankers that dont appreciate the good feeling projected from this band

  • Wow

  • pretty damn good for a bunch of studio musicians totally unrelated to the band itself 5/5

  • did these guys do drugs('shrooms or acid), about 99.9 percent of the songs they do are all acid rock/pop in some way or form.

  • thanks for comments

  • Is this on the nuggets box set from rhino. I was at my uncle's house and listening to it last week, I wasnt sure if this was in the box set.

  • this song of cwb not part of the nuggets box set

  • that sucks. This song is pretty cool, I will just listen to it here though or if i can find it else(Itunes)

  • music nowadays sucks dick.

raps so dumb, hardcore kills the head, emo is just embarrising, phsychedelic rock and acid rock is the best

  • I agree with you there....somewhere along the line, popular music just went on a downward spiral....music today makes little sense...and really has no talent...

  • Not just music went downward... pretty much all humanity! Have you watched TV or gone to the movies lately? The end my friend.

  • People like you are fucking stupid. Music nowadays sucks dick? You like psychedelic rock and acid rock? You talk about rap, hardcore, and emo. Clearly, you're not a music fan. You want music spoon fed to you on MTV and on the radio. I could give you a list of new and great psychedelic bands, but that would be too easy. Go find it for yourself, but you'd rather go on youtube and complain about how "new" music sucks dick. No sir, you suck dick!

  • Well said UncleBlunt.

  • A very good point, well made!

Music today isnt all shit its just a sad fact that the majority of people are just shit at finding it....iff there even looking for it at all!!!

  • @thebigfatyoyo if people listen to the chocolate watchband, they might have tried to find some new music aswel since Chocolate watchband is not that easy to find.

anyways, I agree there is some good music today too, there is SO much music!! But in the sixties, the music was better. and thats just a question of music taste.. thats mine

  • @UncleBlunt here here mo fo

  • @UncleBlunt list some good new psychedelic bands, I only know of a few.

  • @UncleBlunt

I wish people would take the time to look around for music that fits their tastes these days. I have numerous modern psychedelic/rock/pop bands that I listen to on a daily basis that are very talented. Music changes over time, not necessarily becomes worse.

  • @jonvonman ccan you please honestly name me some I am looking for more music.

  • @Hendrix1820 Country Joe and the Fish, Ultimate Spinach, Quicksilver Messenger Service....newer stuff like Passion Pit, the Postal Service, MGMT, Discovery...if it weren't so late I'd rack my brain for more...

  • @jonvonman was talking about new ones, already got those old ones on my ipod :P

but thanks I will check out the others.

  • @Hendrix1820 Haha apologies, it was late and I could hardly focus on the damn screen, I figured you were talking about the new stuff. Been taking too many drugs...check out Brian Jonestown Massacre, Miike Snow, Ra Ra Riot, Phoenix, Two-Door Cinema Club. Newer music in the genre has developed a different sound, I have yet to find one that sticks directly its roots.

  • @jonvonman yeah i know what you mean, maybe check out Tame Impala, they are pretty dam good, oh and The Laurels.

  • @Hendrix1820 Alright, thanks man! I'll be sure to take a look at 'em.

  • @UncleBlunt if they really liked this music they wouldnt be complaining about todays music because they wouldnt have even heard of it, just ignore it man, we know what the true music of the soul is, and we will leave it at that.

  • @UncleBlunt Black Angels, People's Temple, Tame Impala, Dolly Rocker Movement. Could go on.

  • @UncleBlunt stop talking about dick sucking like it's a bad thing, everybody likes a good blowjob :)

  • dark side of the mushroom, almost close to "dark side of the moon".

  • yeah almost a word different

  • wink ;)

  • SO GOOD

  • This sure brings back great memories. I used to see the "Chocolate Watchband" at the Cocoanut Grove in Santa Cruz quite often! "People" and "Stained Glass" were also two of my favorite groups from San Jose.

  • I wish I was around in the 1960's. I don't think there was a better time to be growing up.

  • except maybe for the draft.

    ;)

  • gosh i emphesise that !

  • i second that

  • pixies

  • at 1:36 you can see Jeff Jacks and Alec Palao flash by.

  • Beautiful.

  • where ca i get the guitar tabs?

  • i've always wanted my band to open with this song.. but, i've come to realise that crappy, spineless imitations of it would kill it, this song is utterly perfect

  • Like 9 years ago, I read the album insert that came with this CD "No Way Out", & it said that this song "Dark Side Of The Mushroom" & "Expo 2000" were not all written or performed by Chocolate Watch, but rather my the sound mixers did it for them.

  • sean tolby is my grandpa.

  • excelente surco éste de una banda, en mi opinión , fundacional del género garage

  • thank you

  • Love this CW tune! thx.

  • fuck!!

    that was crazy
