@SinDawg030 Yup. I think it's because of the funny bits constantly undermining the cool bits. Also, the cybermen and daleks do f**k all now. They appear for a few seconds then get their asses handed to them. Watch Doomsday, then watch the Daleks section in The Wedding of River Song, absolutely pathetic. I think it focuses too much on trying to be clever with time and such (and failing a bit with all the plot holes it results in) and not enough on the intensity.

@dalekcaan1963reborn I think Moffat has gone a bit insane about Timey Wimey Mind Benders and being Kid Friendly. Remember how disturbing the Cyber-Conversion in Series 2 was or the inferred Holcaust in Turn Left? Matt Smith is a good Doctor but he needs better writing, same for Amy and Rory. I liked it when it was just the Doctor and a companion and Amy would have been better as a policewoman. In my opinion I think Series 3 was the best followed closely by Series 4. How about you?

@SinDawg030 I liked series 1, 2 and 3. Series 4 was absolutely slaughtered by the joke attempts, aside from Turn Left and some parts of Journeys End. I think the spinning daleks scene in Journeys End highlighted what's wrong with Doctor Who compared to the first few series.

@SinDawg030 I agree that Davros was epic, shame other bits let that episode down, naked Doctor moment was another thing. It seemed to have a habit of setting up intense moments, then resolving it with a funny thing (TARDIS about to be destroyed in front of the Doctor? Naked Doctor to the rescue! Daleks about to kill everyone? Spinning time!)

My favourite would probably be...Rose, not sure why...

I don't think people are saying have "classic series" (Mondas) Cybermen is a bad thing to have in the new series. However, if they are going to use those Cybermen, then they should have the right design and not use the phrase "Delete" (a phrase that's associated with the parallel universe / Pete's World Cybermen).

I mean, we saw in 'The Next Doctor' that a cell found themselves in the Victorian era after the reality bomb incident weakened the area around the void... So why is it that difficult to assume the possibility that not all of them ended up in the Victorian era? Unless they ouright stated a reason why this can't be the case and I'm missing something...

These Daleks though are uber-advanced and battled the Time Lords for control of time itself and even threatened the entire universe so it's the same as Cavemen fighting F14 Eagle fighter jets, a mismatch beyond measure.

I've found it interesting that nearly the same outcome has resulted in two different races experimenting with cybernetics as the Cybermen in our universe didn't evolve on earth. Actuslly, the Mondasian Cybermen were humans that left Earth and WANTED to enhance themselves via use of cybernetics. They relied more and more on their own cybernetic implants until they adapted to become Cybermen.

That is what I said, the Mondasian Cybermen were humans that left Earth and chose to live on Mondas (the Tenth Planet - as you pointed out, Earth's twin). Over time they enhanced themselves using cybernetic augmentations and became the Cybermen.

The cult of skaro have forcefields, but the other daleks only have their dalekanium armor and have weaker lasers, so the ycybermen are much harder to kill for them, and the cybermen can actually destroy them in two or three shots.

In "Dalek", the Dalek has a force field, and the Doctor is fairly aware of this, even though he was never aware of the Cult of Skaro, also in "Parting of Ways" it is shown those Daleks have shields too.

The one time we see them without shields is in the Stolen Earth/Journeys End, and that's probably because they didn't find a need for it.

It would be a much more interesting fight. These Cybermen never really had a chance, being essentially present-day human technology plus a few years. The Daleks on the other hand were ramped up to godlike powerlevels to justify their war with the Time Lords. In a race vs race war, the Daleks trump just about everything.

The Cult of Skaro vs a Sontaran invasion force though, depends. If the Daleks get onto the ship, the Daleks win. The Sontarans would need big guns to blow them up before that ^^
