@mymarkis666 Well it will probably last longer since Alienware has bad build quality, and it will have twice the resale value four years from now. If you want to game though, you should get a Sager or Asus notebook, they're definitely the best.

my 2nd alienware as well. My first was a 17" aurora 9700, turion processor with SLI. I was soooooooooo disappointed after the first few months. But after 3 years it still works. On the other hand this new one is soooooooo much better. The lack of an HDMI port is a little worrying for a laptop this expensive, however the display port is pretty good as well.

I run mu Alienware m15x for 7-8 days newer logged of and it works perfectly i playd crossfire, gta 4 and oblivion... every day! for about 6 hovers! Its perfect!!!!! oh yea and if u want to do what i done that is to play 24-7 dont leave the cable on the back of the alienware its gona MELT!!! thats bad our going to need to bay a new one lol.... so its overall its Great !!!

Alienware is over priced CRAP just like apple products. I have a new m15x the case and lights are nice (yawn). The power connector is in a horrible spot it shouldve been a 90 degree angle plug, look how far it sticks out thats dumb. a little over 1700 bux and Crysis runs like s#!t all medium settings. Cant get Modern warfare to go full screen. My Gateway FX blew this POS away. Dont wast money look at Asus gaming laptop instead, better hardware far less price.

A perfect video. I had the old m15x as well and the build quality was shocking so nice to have the comparison. I aloe didn't know what this thing was made of having read somewhere that it was metal but obviously that i now know to be the m17. Very tempted to buy 1 of these although have a uni body macbook pro that will make a much better portable device, and an alien ware desktop for the heavy stuff. the displayport will allow HDMI using a DP to HDMI, but kind of hard to find. Cedar Rapids Iowa, a pretty large city and I only found one stoere that has it, Staples and I will pickup soon. My M15X does in fact have a 640 gig hard drive. I bought through Dells Outlet store. Last night I hooled it up to my Acer H5360 and was able to do 1080p.
@Aussieisbest94 Well I bought the first Alienware laptop that had SLI GPU which were the nVidia GO 7900 GS series. The laptop was called the M9700, that at the time was concidered the worlds fastest 17" laptop. But in reality it did great for awhile but wasn't long before we stated to see short comings, mainly in the area of drivers when Windows 7 came to this planet, really sucky with Win 7.even when drivers are right. The memory is problem MB only can have 2 gig. post to follow

I run mu Alienware m15x for 7-8 days newer logged of and it works perfectly i playd crossfire, gta 4 and oblivion... every day! for about 6 hovers! Its perfect!!!!! oh yea and if u want to do what i done that is to play 24-7 dont leave the cable on the back of the alienware its gona MELT!!! thats bad our going to need to bay a new one lol.... so its overall its Great !!!

Alienware is over priced CRAP just like apple products. I have a new m15x the case and lights are nice (yawn). The power connector is in a horrible spot it shouldve been a 90 degree angle plug, look how far it sticks out thats dumb. a little over 1700 bux and Crysis runs like s#!t all medium settings. Cant get Modern warfare to go full screen. My Gateway FX blew this POS away. Dont wast money look at Asus gaming laptop instead, better hardware far less price.

A perfect video. I had the old m15x as well and the build quality was shocking so nice to have the comparison. I aloe didn't know what this thing was made of having read somewhere that it was metal but obviously that i now know to be the m17. Very tempted to buy 1 of these although have a uni body macbook pro that will make a much better portable device, and an alien ware desktop for the heavy stuff. Soon as I can persuade the good lady at least...

the displayport will allow HDMI using a DP to HDMI, but kind of hard to find. Cedar Rapids Iowa, a pretty large city and I only found one stoere that has it, Staples and I will pickup soon. My M15X does in fact have a 640 gig hard drive. I bought through Dells Outlet store. Last night I hooled it up to my Acer H5360 and was able to do 1080p.

@Aussieisbest94 Well I bought the first Alienware laptop that had SLI GPU which were the nVidia GO 7900 GS series. The laptop was called the M9700, that at the time was concidered the worlds fastest 17" laptop. But in reality it did great for awhile but wasn't long before we stated to see short comings, mainly in the area of drivers when Windows 7 came to this planet, really sucky with Win 7.even when drivers are right. The memory is problem MB only can have 2 gig. post to follow

@dtow 5 minutes ago FedX just delievered my Alienware M15X and componnets are: I7-840QM, GTX,260M , 8GB,1333MHZ,DDR3,2X4G, Hard Drive,640GB 7200 rpm, slot loaded Blu-ray,Dvd+/-Rw And Bd-Rom, 1060p wide screen, TV tuner,Software,TVT11 NTSC, was refurbished for $1938.64 if this helps at all... Not sure I'm keeping it, there are some other systems that pretty damn good for less money.

much cheaper and often better, well ASUS G73JW, i7 w.740qm(w.Turbo boost), 8 gb DDR3 SDRAM(1333 Ghz), nvidia gtx-460M 1,5 gb GDDR5, 500 GB SSD/HDD(fast hard-drive loading).... ;)
