Considering that foxes are related to dogs and (despite what many people say) could be domesticated, anyone who kills them-it is not 'control'-are murderers who enjoy doing it!!!
@CelebrateDiversity1 Your logic is bullshit... you claim that a species is capable of being domesticated and immediately jump to the claim that they shouldn't be killed? Why? You expect that every landowner who's chickens are killed by foxes should go out and train the foxes? WTF? STUPID....
dude...a fox eats mice , it cleans land of pests , if u have chickens just put them somewhere enclosed , a fox is a valuable smart animal it don't deserve a shitty death
Im using a .22 rimfire with subsonics, got 7 and only two have wriggled after being hit, they got it in the throat, all other in the forehead, dead as door nails. Some at more than 70m in the dark. Spend time on your windage when sighting in, thats where you miss targets.
@kennnmoran1 you could be squealing them wrong or they could be burned ( which means the fox will know what your doing and knows to run) how do you hunt? what do you use to hunt a gun or a lurcher? if your lamping them try useing a red cover for your spot.
@zoolook1000 you dont eat foxes, they eat your livestock carry desise, threaten yuor family and possibly even your lifestyle.they are just a threat in general its called population controll.
@SirSlotsAlot oi zoolook dont forget when ya done eatin dat bug eat yer shit aswell cos yer damagin the ozone ya muppet. btw sirslotsalot love how ya took it down 1st shot bruv how much is a nv setup like that?
@St00ge1 like nssurge said, .22 or .17 centerfire rifles will do it fine. if you've just gotten into hunting, an air rifle would be a good choice as you can still hunt rabbits, rats, squirrels, corvids, pigeons and any other small game. after that move on to a shotgun license. or if foxes are initially what you'r out for, apply for ashotgun certificate straight off. it would be better to get hunting with air rifle first. the police are very touchy about handing out FAC's so take your time.
Awesome vid. Yeah here in oz no such luck with suppressors. I've shot a couple of foxes with soft tails in 55 gn in .223 and just does through n through. Looks like that happened to this one? What ammo u using? Anyway great seeing that get decked at night.
great setup and great video once again. just got nv myself in the form of a pulsar n550,been out with it 3-4 times on the .22/250 and what were problem foxes are a thing of the past! the pulsar easily picks up foxes out to 350yards and beyond but i keep the shots within 250yards, how does your nv perform at range?
whoever makes gun and hunting laws/regulations dont just make sense. UK have strict gun laws but not prohibit the use of silencers nor night hunting. US or at least here in the state of California its illegal to posses silencers or hunt at night or after sundown. maybe einstein theory of relativity will make sense to me someday. lol. sorry just venting a little here
I love it. I knew that was going to work out well. Am seriously considering some night gen kit. Have a few lampshy foxes on a couple of permissions it would be great for. Excellent shot and superb video as always. Thanks for posting.
that is a sweet setup man! you guys are so lucky that you can have supressors, here in australia we cant even fucking use a pistol to shoot targets on privte property let alone not use supressors. nice vid

I dont think you need to go any bigger than 22 cal for fox and vermin.
A good 20 can or 22 will do the job IME.
Thanks
SirSlotsAlot 6 months ago
is .223 a good caliber for hunting, or would .308 or something larger than .223 be better? (Im talking about hunting foxes and other small animals)
Iv just gotten into hunting and not sure what to buy. thanks
St00ge1 6 months ago
@St00ge1 i would be thinking more 17hmr than 223, the ammo for 223 is quite expensive, and for foxes and other small game a 17 or 22 is all you need

@St00ge1 .223 has plenty of power for fox and other small animals. You could even go smaller caliber if you wanted but I would use the .223.
