In Colruyt (Belgium) they have three boxes for 7.80 (sometimes) meaning it is two thirds the price of Nespresso i.e. 26 cents a coffee versus 40 cents...It can be a value option and frankly I am not sophisticated enough to taste any difference...
Dude.. only a Dutch guy would use such a huge cup to test an expresso. I know it because I just rented a room in the AMS area and I have no expresso cups. I had to make one using those capsules using exactly the same type of glass you did... the landlord also doesn't believe in the expresso magic... ahah.
Do you know that there is a new Coffee brand for the Nespresso machine.
I have tested this new brand ""Ethical Coffee Company "" and every thing went wrong.
Why it went so wrong, the coffee pod will stay in the machine because of the heat and the pressure, the plasic will expende and you can t get the coffee pod out of the machine.
One of the reason why,,well they made the plastic much to thick for the machine, for my Magimix machine.
Ow yes one thing you told in the video that the machine doesn t make the holes in the D.E capsules ,that isn t true.
The reason why there are tiny little holes in each capsules are,it make it easier to press down the capsule when it is in the machine because the plastic is a bit though.
Tastes like Senseo coffee and the water flow blocks after a few seconds, you can hear the pump working so hard but it can't get water through the capsule anymore... leaves me with almost no coffee in my glass... Bought it once, never again...
@TheRealShadowHunter ok I see. I don't use them anymore since this video, but it was never Senseo bad. Depending on the machine, the DE do pull slower, not intentionally, but because of what you described. Not worth it when you already have a great machine and Nespresso capsules only cost 30 cents more for a package! Thanks for commenting.
Nice of you to send this video. I was curious what you thing of the Douwe Egberts coffee and that you like of it I have to say to you that you are using the wrong coffee cup my friend You should have use a smaller one. I does make a difference The Douwe Egberts is not bad at all but the Nespresso has a better taste. I am testing it myself by the way. Strange that Nespresso accuse Douwe Egberts. Nespresso(nesscafe,Nestle) also makes coffee pads. We don t hear D.E about accusing them
@GoliathAngelus I don't like the DE coffee capsules, the profile drops pretty flat/bland, but it is nice that it is less acidic. I used the glass cup to show how the espresso looks when pulled, but I haven't noticed a difference with the DE capsules when used in a normal espresso cup. Nespresso is great espresso, but it is not like grinding fresh beans roasted two days ago and having an expert pull the shot. But I still love it :)

@qwerty32355 Like I said, I used the glass so you can see the shot. Also he might not have understood "expresso."

Have you tried out this new coffee?
GoliathAngelus 3 months ago
@GoliathAngelus I haven't tried that, and don't think I will. The plastic is too tough for the machines, will for sure shorten the life span. thanks!

@banihex You are welcome coffee drinker : )
Tip from me stay away from the Ethical Coffee Company brand as you can see on my video.
Just buy the original from Nespresso like i do because i am a member anyway, or D.E when you are indeed out of cups.
I picked it up for trying it out but it really is a bad product.
I wonder why it still is in shops.
Even the prise for the Ethical Coffee went up !

@GoliathAngelus ah ok, I don't think my machine was doing it correctly then, and that explains why it's bad for the machine. thanks!

D.E treat us with the smell of coffee when we open the package because of diffirent choice of packaging.
With Nespresso ,everything is sealed and clean.
They have made nice coffee and drinking coffee is an art but we miss the warmth and the smell of fresh coffee ,that is true.
GoliathAngelus 5 months ago
Oh man i had to think what this was all about because it was a long time ago when i gave a comment.
I see that every one has a diffirent experences drinking coffee because not every one has the same taste.
I like the D.E coffee but the coffee that they use for coffee capsules,i find a little sharp in flavour.
Nespresso coffee (capsules) are more tender softer in flavour .
I have to agree with you D.E gives you the feeling to have fresh coffe when you open the package or box

Interesting. Can't believe they haven't tried to make them cheaper to carve up a part of the market! Hopefully they come to Australia
