Old hairstyles always fascinated me, they look so constructed. The thing about Gilda's hairstyle is that it looks stiff and soft at the same time. Old hollywood hairstylists went to the grave with their secrets. The reason that sequins shined brighter in the old movies is because they were made out of mica and not plastic like today's sequins. The hairstyle that you did in this video looks more like Scarlett O'Hara hairstyle than Gilda, but thanks for posting this.

Your going to get a more authentic look without all the product your obviously using before rolling. Rita was big on volume and less about sleekness and smoothness. The retro fluffiness is a big part of the style. I would say your take on it is great for a less dated version.
