Some design pattern books are hard to follow, I do like the book called Pragmatic Programmer, but that's less on design patterns.

Btw; I have the "Design Patterns" book on my shelf, signed by Ralph Johnson. I'm planning to bring it to JavaPolis this december, hoping for a chance to have Erich Gamma sign it too.
