@nakampf no I'm sure mot of them are just kids who think they know what war is like because they play call of duty or something. Truth be told they will never know. Then again I shouldn't be talking since I'm only 13 I'm just a bit more educated then the average American teen
That is really excellent. Great attention to detail. There are also some brilliant displays at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. Some people really do devote their time to creating accuracy and honouring the memory of those gone before us.
3 years late? You are implying it was Americas job to join at all. The USA should never have gotten involved with the dumb European slug fest. but should have just sold both sides weapons kind of like how England and other nations where selling weapons to both sides in the American civil war. If America didn't join we could have saved 100,000 American boys and made billions off stupid Europeans that cant play nice with each other. Not to mention WW2 may not of happened.
I went to the Ypres Cotton Mill with college and the dioramas there really hit home. You can read into as much as you like about the mud and shit, but all I got from that was a sea of brown. When I saw pictures, and the diorama, I saw a sea of black..

@Loukos9FIFA10 My great-great-great... was there...He fought on the German side,at first he was all for the war------but after Verdun and the fact that his son was being drafted too,he changed his mind...He told his son to run to Denmark to avoid the trenches---he did,and here we are today...His dad was punished for the desertation,he was not allowed a leave untill the end of the war...So he spend the reminder of the war, about 3 years,at the front...
@Loukos9FIFA10 I see your point fella, but you really can't go waving your ancestor's war records around because, sadly, 90% of that generation ALSO served..
Humanity is fucking stupid beyond belief. If ONLY we'd learn how to get along with one another for more than 1 fucking minute, there'd be NO deaths at all!!! Fuck I hope humanity would nuke itself into extinction, cause we don't deserve to have such intelligence but yet we can't even learn to get along with each other.
thats cool! I love istory and what not, but have never been able to go to the war museum :(. Our museum in town has a picture of the boys from our town who went off to fight in the war, though..WW1 would have been so scary to fight in, being in those trenches, mustar gas, bullets, rats..desease..ugh!
my great grandma was talking to my dad when he was about 13 or something like that lol. and she recons she use to hear the guns going off in france when she was living in england.
hmm if this would be authentic, there would be Trench A-frames visble in dry hot weather, but after 1916 all trenches were waterlogged kneedee[p most times, looks good but i miss the water.Go to the real thing and you will find the waterlogs..RIP

Should check out the trench model in Imperial War Museum, London. Ridiculously huge. Takes 10 seconds to quickly walk from one end to the other.
Darbyjack 2 years ago
@Darbyjack yea thats huge! 10 seconds isnt much dude i wanna go there though
Brian567899 2 years ago
Think about how many metres you can cover by walking in a straight line for 10 seconds, at a steady pace.

not to mention the fact of you being in a foxhole with one of your own freinds whos missing his arm.
and the constant screaming shells that could fall on your position at any given minute.

@78erflowri dont forget the floods of which made it even worst and could at anytime make the trench colapse

@blipperflipper, More like a crater, with him looking over the parapette getting his head blown off. 1 shell and you're dead.
