I used to be patriotic, and mindlessly backed the Iraqi invasion, until I realized a few years ago that 911 was an inside job, and that International bankers have funded all the major wars. I think most Christians, like most Americans, don't understand the real powers that are behind the scenes. There are many aware Christians who do oppose the war.
My best friend, raised with me and my brother, was killed in Iraq. I have wrestled with the loss in my mind for four years now. I have come to the conclusion you are right. Some people might have an issue with what you're saying, but I will say one thing, you are brave, and exercising your right to speech that is the main one I joined the military for myself.

But in WW2 when the Brits threw Gandhi in jail only a few thousand Indians protested. Another 2.5 million volunteered for the British army. When violence approaches people drop peace and get ready to fight.

Though, the War of 1812 and the first and second war of Tripoli were all fought over foreign countries kidnapping our countrymen; so, I would throw them in the list of wars fought in self defense. Also, In WWII Japan actually did invade our land. They took the Aleutian Islands, and it took one year for us to remove them from there. And in addition, though we were not the US yet, King Philip's War falls under this category.
We are responsible for defending the world now Ram. Sure, we could have stayed out of WW1 and 2 and the cold war. This wwould have led to a different and more dangerous world thaht would be a threat to America and a cost to our free market and world stability. Sure we could have surrendered the third world to the Soviet Union, but their growth could have meant the perpetuity of Communism.
If the lord's values are fighting wars that is the best value he has.
wars consist of burning up lives and resources at incredible rates. The only potential profit comes far down the road when they are free and engage in free trade with us because the more free trade we have the more everyone benefits.
i think people who die fighting for their country deserve statues.
