@GoodGuitarSolos Against the things only uneducated 13 year old girls like? I never had a negative predisposition against Tim Burton. It's really quite the opposite, I was excited to watch Tim Burton movies as everyone was hyping them. When I finally watched them, I realized how awfully insubstantial and cliched they are. Upon inquiring why people like his films and what makes him a good director, I only receive half-arsed, unintelligent responses like "omg he's a creative genius im goffik".

@GoodGuitarSolos Well yeah, I mentioned I really appreciate the visual art in his movies, but other than that, there's not much to the movies he directs, unlike what his raving fans like to think.

Perhaps with a good screenwriter a good "dark, evil Tim Burton movie" could exist though.

I can agree that certain Burton movies follow the same context but he has lots of skills too.

@GoodGuitarSolos He's go no creative vision. All his "dark" films follow the same format. "Let's make something that looks cute but gothy and make a cheesy PG love-story for the kids."

He may be a good director as far as directing goes, but he almost exclusively directs that type of garbage movies. I've yet to watch "Big Fish" though.
