@Vexillographer Simple, really. As new facts about the past come up, history can sometimes change quite a bit. I recall an episode of "Recess" that had a textbook so old it claimed it was impossible for man to ever reach the moon. As the blurry parts are clarified, the already-known details can change. That's how historical information can change.

@Vexillographer Oh it was history, it was just history that's not as up-to-date as current history. At the time that textbook was made, man had not gone to the moon. It's not as accurate as current history, but it's still history.
