  • All your videos are helpful and your compositions are sick.

  • woaw, this is fucking awesome soundscape at the end, i love it. I know that you didn't intend to be super serious in this one, but wow awesome anyway. I'm buy'ing one today, hope i'll do good too :)

  • Great control of Kassilator man, I'd love to do that stuff soon! Keep on posting videos, people needs to know how to use the full Kaossilator features correctly.

    Good work!

  • HANDS DOWN ur the greatest kaossilator user i have ever seen.

  • On the other hand this one aint that bad.

  • @blackpoolbacon like i said man, they just showcase tricks, im not trying to make dope beast, i save that for jams, when im really into it and there is music through big speakers!

  • Comment removed

  • hey triplesquarednine,

I removed my videoresponse. it was not my intention to anoy you with a videoresponse. If you only want certain videos, please just check the box that you have to give permission.

I never said my video is something totaly new or inventive, I just thought there are way too many people not using the erase function. Maybe they get new ideas.

    Have fun.

  • @Kaossilation hey sorry about that, ya know i think you are right about people not using the erase function enough, do you ever use it in the 16beat. the other day at a jam i went from this really slow beat and using the erase and loop length i setup a new 2 step, it was pretty sick, and dropped at the perfect point.

the guys i was jamming with thought it worked like a charm.

ya, i wasn't a fan of that last vid, but your 3/2 was good.

it was a true hack that people should know about

  • A seriously addictive toy. I planned to play mine for only 15 minutes before bedtime the other night... needless to say, I was still up an hour and a half later!

  • Damn, you are good :]

  • damn man you shred the kaossilator better than anyone i've seen......... other than keller williams.. props. i cant wait til the pro comes out... i love my kaossilator... but 4 in 1 with 16 beats and midi capabilty.. sounds like a dream come true.. post some more shit i enjoy watching.

  • hey were did u get the glitches from??? I have one and it doessnt have them

  • what do you mean?

where did i get the glitches from?!!?!?

the glitchy sounds are made through cutting and messing with the sounds...and aa little creativity....

and as far as i know, all kaossilators can do that...

so if you mean, there is no "glitch patch" in your synths, FX and drums....you weren't paying attention...

  • Ok man you didnt have to be some mean about it geezus

  • don't be so sensitive, i wasn't being mean.

i was pointing out that in fact, there is no glitch patch,

that i am making it glitch, and that you must not have been paying attention(because that is explained in my videos!)

    relax :)

  • this is incredible esp 4:00 range

  • That sounds bloody sexy man!

  • wow ur good

  • i like yur style, put more videos

  • ur videos definitely DO NOT suck. do post more!

  • which scale are you using for this track? sounds really great! Also, whats the sound you use for the glitches in the beginning?

    thanks a lot dude

    :)

  • no idea man, i can't remember, if i had to guess, it was one of the oriental sounding ones. as for the glitches. i tend to not pay much attention when i pick sounds to glitch. i just try to grab small chunks that will create new sounds....

  • A true Kaoosilator hero:)

Top notch layering and sense of rhythm. THanks for sharing mate

  • really nice. reminds me of aphex twin or autechre. amazing stuff.

  • I appreciate your instructional videos, they will help me immensely when I can get one. Your grooves are pretty phat, too!

  • Did you memorize the program list so you know what's what already when you get there? And did you memorize what sound you're gonna get depending on where you touch the pad?

I just got mine yesterday but I'm hoping eventually I'll get so used to it that I'll be able to pull shit like this off. You're awesome man

  • Cool song...just didnt like the ending...but it was still really cool...

  • i put this on my ipod! i subbed u too! and if anybodys wondering how i got this on my ipod i hav a vid on how to use a youtube to mp3 converter =) keep up the good work!

  • You're a virtuoso on that thing.

  • yeah! At first I was annoyed at the way the 'ssilator destroys a recorded beat when you switch loop length in "advanced" mode... now that I see what you do with it - I'm glad I can play this thing all day long :-) thanks for sharing!

  • Also, instrument at 1:20 = makes me want to buy one instantly.

  • You're in the top 3, if not the absolute best, as far as how technically skilled or constructive you are with the k01. I know now you can actually make GOOD music and not just screw around with these things.

  • Another very nice exposition of layering of voices - definitely shows what the device can do. Moderately interesting music. Shows what an expert can do.

  • your videos are really cool, Ijust got a kaossilator in the post this morning so have got a way to go but it is very easy to start layering sounds, just getting the timing right while holding down the loop record button and stuff like that, its all down to getting your timing right with these, I usuallyplay guitar but this is great to pick up anytime and to carry round, an ideal thing to fill in time waiting for friends etc when out. keep up the good work on the vids

  • amazing, you got some sweet autechre vibe into it! you made me decide to buy one these magic boxes

  • Fantastic, absolutely fantastic!

  • Are any of the kp's velocity sensitive, i guess its not really essensial.

  • nope, they are not. however, most patches use either the X or Y axis to make velocity or filtering(which is just as useful)

so it doesn't really matter all that much

  • yeah you seem to have the korg kaos magic down to a tee.

just wondering if you have any written hints and tips and tutorials (not dissing the videos, it is i also like to have written hints and tips as well).

    cheers

  • write them down??? lol. cheers!

  • you've definitely mastered it. thanks for giving us the tips to do the same.

  • Wow, and I thought this thing was worth the money before! Thank you VERY much for the tips and all your vids, I've seen some people use dly, but they didn't say what good it was. You are the man.

Also if anyone gets a chance, kaossilator + acid is the bee's motherfuckin knees.

  • Keep coming out with stuff, man. Your Kaoss-skills are dope! I'd like to see some full mixes with the KP3 involved more.

  • Man I commented in other of your videos about your aggressive style ... Now watching your music I apologies, AMAZING PERFORMANCE ! cool man ! keep making more stuff !

  • You play the Kaossillator pretty ruff.

Has it ever been damaged from your playing style?

O btw man, sweet music and tips, I'm getting one of these.

  • i have damaged it, only once and it does not affect how it plays. i was out at a party with it and my keys "dented" the pad. it is still there(superficial). i actually don't hit the pad very hard or use much force(not velocity sensitive).

i find it's way more expressive if you smack it around a bit. but in saying that, i dont mean smash the buttons. the wheel i worry about. but for 200$ - do i really care? :)

    i'll just buy another!

  • Your videos are the best. Hope you'll post some more tips, very usefull...

  • awsome beat!

  • Great work there dude! The 16 Step Sequecermode is awesome! The limitation to 8 Steps really pissed me off! When I first got the device I was really dissapointed! In my opinion its a too importend function to make it some kind of an easteregg! Also that u can "automate" your moves is great. I owne the Kaossilator for a week now and I already was at the point where I thought I have discovered all its possibilities - until I watched your vids! Until now I only found lame vids on the Kaossilator!

  • cool man, but i can assure you. after a week, you probably haven't figured out 3/4 of it's tricks. i've had mine for 6months and use it everyday, and i figure out new things all the time. and disappointment after a week over 8beat? come on dude, it's called working with limitations, there are so many ways to make the 8beat - sound like so much more. think outside the box bro.

  • well thats sick, I tried your tips and got hooked, just jammed about 4hours with this fucker :D

  • glad you dig the ko-1 and that my video's are coming in handy. i just figured out this kool way to make stuttering leads/fx(without the gate or using the record "crossfade")works more like delay, has it's own feel. it's cool. and i may put a video up on constructing drumlines, i have a lot of ways that i make drums. i've been experimenting and getting some interesting results..

  • woo, I got my kaoss :) luv it already. cant stop touching it :D

  • wow, great stuff :o

  • rate it if you like it, some dick gave me a one! BOO!

just in the middle of uploading some new ones with tricks,

feel free to check em out. handy tips.

  • I've watched your vids couple of times :) I'm sure these will be great help when I get my own Kaossilator. I ordered it about week ago from Germany, takes some time cos Im from Finland ;<

  • for sure they will help. i had to figure out all the stuff not in the manual myself. at first like you i watched ppl's video's for tricks. watching thier hands, but in my experience most people really don't have many tricks to share. they just do standard obvious stuff....that you'll figure out in the 1st week regardless..

  • Nice work. I really love the speed at which you compose and manipulate the instrument. How did you achieve such a technical facility? Is it a question of sheer practise, or other techniques/methods of learning?

  • always start recording melodies towards the end of the bar(other than drums) and move quickly. always stay ahead

of the loop in your mind. practice is good too. knowing every glitch and sweet spot.

but myself, i am a musician. i also have been playing with synths/softsynths for years...

  • best performace with this little machine i have seen.

very inspiring, i have to try this 16-step looping stuff with mine.

  • let me know how it works out for you. at first it's behavior may not always make sense when cutting the beat. but i assure you - there is a method to it's malfunction!

in how it remembers your actions, and where it grabs the beat. also keep in mind that you will lose the "fix" function...
