  • he's the rain man of press your luck

  • @Hoddersrevenge It wasn't just those two squares that always had no whammies, for example, the top right and bottom left corners (6 and 15) never had Whammies either, but didn't guarantee an extra spin like the 4 and the 8, which allowed him to keep going on.

  • the host is like do yuo know how much money your risking your really pressing your luck he is trying to get michel to stop spinning unlike normally twhen the host tries to get you to risk things he has figured out what michel is doing

  • I want to see a TV special on Ed. What does that dude do when this ends and he leaves?

  • ken jennings can't hold a candle to michael larson!

  • That just proves if you just pay attention you can win like this.

  • MICHAEL LARSON IS TRULLY EFFIN AMAZING......THIS IS NICE........

  • Now the producers are telling the host "GET HIM TO FUCK UP!"

  • Look at the female contestant's face at 9:55 it's hilarious!

  • I love how the hosts keeps reminding him about his "four remaining spins"

  • I feel bad for the other 2 players

  • Whatever, smartest ice cream man in the world. Finally got his break. Good for him.

  • You can see he's not waiting to see what he landed on, but celebrating immediatly. He knew he was on something good before he saw.

  • Read the wiki about this guy--He got obsessed with money and went down a dark path and got screwed along the way. Money is power and I hate to use cliche's but with great power comes great responsibility. Plus lets not forget about karma and greed, all exemplified here....

  • I love the look on the female contestant's face at 9:56 after he won another $5000 to bring his total to $99851 - she is in complete shock!

  • HE PROBABLY SPENT ALL OF HIS LIFE MEMORIZING THIS SHIT... HE DOESNT EVEN NEED A FRICKEN JOB NOW!!!!!!

  • @MrIGIVEFREESUBS He kept the money in cash in his house and was robbed. He also died in 1999.

  • @sbtbfanatic All ones!

  • Woman's face @ 9:56 FTW

  • he keeps on looking behind him, he's paranoid. Notice how he gets excited before anyone else realizes what he's landed on. He obviously already knows what he's gonna land on.

  • Ed, like ICREDIBLE, Janie just wants to play.

  • I didn't know that Ned Flanders once competed on PYL. XD

  • Didn't the producers get suspicious when he only stopped on 2 spots?

  • Did they let him keep the money?

  • @Sessioner11 yes, because he didn't break any of the rules... but!! later on he had taken all the money out in $1 to try to win another contest and when he left to go to a xmas party someone kicked in the door and stole the money!! that is a for real story!!

  • Why is the audio out of sync?

  • What I dont understand was why couldn't they make the board completly random? Did they not have the technology im not a genius hardly paying attention i can tell the same squares light up all the time lol

  • They had the technology, the producers just felt it was unnecessary. During the first few weeks, the machine could only run one pattern at a time, and the operator flipped to a different pattern mid-spin, on his/her command. If only they had stuck with doing that.....

  • 9:55. Janie's face is great.

  • VERY close call at 5:40 as the previous square had just turned into a Whammy.

  • 16-2-9-17-8 is the pattern for the 500-750-1000 +1, if I'm seeing it correctly.

He has two patterns to look for. He's watching for two key squares to light. 16 and 2.

  • 6 patterns

  • 8:14 - Peter's exasperated reaction is just PRICELESS!

  • probably because if they didn't it would have taken 3 episodes slots to air

  • It was 25 years today Michael Larson first appeared on Press Your Luck in a fiasco, that would be amazing.

  • How can Michael be a cheater????? Is a football coach a cheater for watching game film or scouting?

  • He wasn't a cheater, but . . . he broke the code and no one expected anybody to do that.

  • @beaverpitt he's a cheater because he knew the pattern of the board so he knew what he was going to get

  • @aczumel

    @tarragonable

Rigging the electronic system to give him the advantage would be cheating. This is not. Both Ed and Janie could've done the exact same thing.

  • @aczumel 4 months old but whatever.

Michael isn't a cheater, he just memorized the 5 patterns on the board, and CBS actually said that before Michael there were other wanna-be contestants that also memorized the original 5 patterns so anyone could've done what Michael did, and in all actuality I myself have memorized 2 of the 5 original board patterns. All it is is memorization and timing.

  • @ffrplaye YEA IF U ACTUALLY SIT THERE AND WATCH THE WHOLE STORY WITH THE GAME HE HAD 5 DRAWING PAPER @ HOME AND HE HAD SEVERAL TV'S 2 SO YEA THAT'LL MAKE U MEMORIZE IT BY DRAWING IT DUH LOL

  • @beaverpitt If memorizing all of the patterns of the board so you're never risking any of your money at all and always being able to hit the big money isn't cheating, tell me what is.

  • @Tarragonable Noticing a pattern and using it to your advantage. Thats like a player studying game film and constantly practicing his movements (Like Michael practicing when to hit the button, dont forget he could screw that up due to fatigue or mis timing so he IS still putting that money at risk). There, did I refute everything you said yet?

  • @Tarragonable He's not doing anything illegal, he's not lying, he's not deceiving, he's not using deception, and he's not breaking the rules. He was just smart enough to pay attention and study.

  • @Tarragonable He didn't have access to anything the other players didn't. He was intelligent to notice a flaw in the system and he took advantage of it. That's not cheating, that's being smart.

  • he always stops it on the same 2 squares. One at the top, and one at the right.

  • Yep. $3,000 and a spin and another with a spin, mostly 1,000. He wants to keep his spins so he can keep playing for more money.

  • At 2:16 that main pattern (2-12-1-9-4) kicks in, but he doesn't stop the board!

  • I don't know why but no matter how many times I watch I can't find Michael's pattern

  • 2-12-1-9-4..that was the main pattern..you have to watch VERY CAREFULLY. That was the key to Michael's success.

  • Yeah, for some reason that spin was cut out.

  • i call this mighty Karen!!!!!!!

  • No offense, but her voice is quite annoying.

  • by the 6 min mark, you can see that the projectors are REALY out of sync in their changeovers.

  • And when we get to 10 minutes, the board starts to get really hypnotizing.

  • realy, the person who designed the board was asking for trouble, by making not one but TWO squares which not only had no whammy, but all gave an extra spin, in a system that they (almost certainly should have) known was not random but instead had preset patterns.

Something like that was just ASKING for something like this to happen.

  • if they had rotated the extra spin spots that wouldnt have happend. the extra spins are in the same place on every change.

  • I love it. Ripping off a greedy television network! Awesome!
