  • @1Thompsonmusic You have great taste. What did you have for diner, a burger and fries?

  • 0:50 i fell like dancing ...yea that was good !! :DDD

  • Listening to this piece at half the speed is really satisfying, especially the end,

    pure dreamlike joy.

  • 1:01 is something wrong with my pc, is something wrong with the video or does he have dirt on his hands? ;-)

  • nice ring...

  • wonderful perfomance indeed!!

  • its from the heart...

  • For those people who love Chopin I would like to add some secret of his music. His music is part of the greatest orchestra his country had at that time in Paris - Cyprian Norwid, Adam Mickiewicz, Juliusz Slowacki. Zimerman polish heritage transforms Chopin music back to those days where your country strugle for existence.

  • This piece is really beautiful... :'(

  • the touch on his right hand melody is absolutely exquisite. the dynamic change and shape is more than Chopin could ask for. after the doppio, the return of the melody is absolutely breathtaking. Incredible!

  • Kocham cie!!! Gra muzyke z jego serce.

  • thousand applause!!

  • :)

  • Here are the eyebrow positions if anyone wants them:

    >:¬) <:¬) /:¬)

  • Certainly one of the greatest performances of this masterpiece. His technique is breathtaking. The doppio mouvmento starts off as dreamy as one could ever hope for. The embellishments all have that feather touch, with masterful control, evoking the poetry of the music.

  • @jojobruin What are you even talking about? Is this a joke?Mozart acted as a foundation for chopin's music. Chopin has admitted it himself. He may not have written music that is as emotional as the music that has been written in the romantic period, but in terms of musical beauty, Mozart has brought heaven down to earth. I am not trying to insult you here.I am just saying that you must take your time and reconsider his music. I mean we are talking about the fucking dude here..

  • @dim19f I agree. Chopin was certainly influenced by mozart.

  • Zimerman is one of the best pianists of the world. He is the only who can bring us the full range of Chopin´s poetry!

  • The mind of Chopin!?!?! How did he do it?!?!?

  • passionate and romantic ! Chopin sometimes was also not too mysterious !

  • One of the most amazing things I have ever heard.

  • fuck i wish they would put more shots of his hands

  • His eyebrows are worth a thousand words!

  • Why is there always random heavy breathing in these great recordings!?!?!

  • @sit001

    hahaha its really wierd huh?

  • @sit001 it's because psychologically, he is going through the passion he is describing with his music, and so his body reacts accordingly.

  • /watch?v=LUHZnFXq3Pg

  • real pianists play with their eyebrows ;)

  • @o0Paicey0o Jerry Lee Lewis plays with his butt!

  • @o0Paicey0o I know I do. Usually after a couple of bottles of wine.

  • I love Chopin, and I really like Zimerman. he was so handsome, too!!

  • I have to admit I've never thought that classical music could be as extraordinas as here ... until now.

  • @hyerkill it's because of Chopin!!

  • Zimerman一向表情帝~~ XD

  • Does any one know, what Hall he is in?

there are quite a lot videos where he is playing in this same hall, so by now i'm quite wondering if it is a special concert hall?

  • He seems enyoing, that's the idea of playing music...

  • @1Thompsonmusic

He's been doing it on many of his Chopin intepretations.

  • 22 people work for the TSA.

  • He's great,genius indeed

but all of you ever wondered why great pianist in 20 century is more like great musician/player than great composer and player like it was in other centuries?

    just curious

  • @y34r people just dont write music like they used to....

  • I love the "yea, im awesome" nod at

    :53

  • ah it's like the music is making love to my ears! I simply adore the way Zimmerman plays Chopin, makes my heart skip a beat, I am so in love with this piece.

  • 2:44

  • exceptionnal ... one of my favorite interprets of Chopin ... perhaps a bit to much "too romantic", I have the feeling that Chopin was a bit more modern that this programmed romantic music.

But still .. so far superior to many others interrpets

  • His hands makes me cry.... Now, it is very late hour in my country, but I don't want to stop to listening him...

  • He is littealy jerking that piano OFF ffs

  • how can he play this so much better than anyone else?

  • 22 people should go see a doctor...

  • I remember a real gloomy point in my life and this exact piece was caressing my mind; it didn't make me at all feel better, but it did make feel more alive.

    Thank you, Chopin

  • I remember a real gloomy point in my life and remembering this exact piece caress my mind; it didn't make me at all feel better, but it did make feel more alive. And I was better for it.

    Thank you, Chopin

  • We could literally say that the piano is just an extension of his body. Amazing.

  • merci de cette belle interpretation , qui donne le frisson , on ressent bien l'ame de Chopin .....merveilleux !!

  • the sound is magic ! love it !

  • Molto bene, eccellente nel movimento doppio.

  • this 5 not 15, sublime playing though.

  • started listening to this song, and then I forgot I was listening to it because its just so perfect!

  • Good piano.. so.. Black...

  • non ostante le faccette di espressione, sempre ridicole in un grande pianista, buona esecuzione

  • @federricoilgrande "buona esecuzione"??? signor federico il grande, si accomodi, ci fa sentire qualcosa per cortesia?

  • 20 people have parkinson

  • i have a steinway too! it was from my grandfather

  • @laudana92 You're very lucky.

  • An excellent performance! Only I do not understand why only approximately 1 out of 1000 viewers gives "like" for it. I've given mein.

  • @dgaranin It's a good performance, maybe listen to Rach's, now that is more than excellent

  • i wish i could have a big room like this just for play a steinway piano

  • W0w

  • I love his face! And his tails....

  • his eyebrow movements are... amazing.

  • Congratulations! you are a wonderful pianist

  • A nocturne is a night piece, right?, it is supposed to be an evocation of the "nightime mood". Well, how much do you get it here? He plays like an imprommptu, and the central part he makes straight out athletic, like he strayed into Liszt?...

  • @fredericfranc an impromptu is also most likely to be played at night, surrounded by friends or caressed by the moon through the window.

  • 0:54 this is Alberto Angela! :D

  • Why the FUCK are there 15 seconds of silence?

  • @ashburnhouse hahahaha, creppy !

  • Wow, this is a wonderful performance. What colors he gets, shadings! Marvelous taste in the pedaling at the end! And GREAT playing of the grace notes!

  • he really hot and very good looking !!!

  • I like Chopin Nocturne very much. Since I can see a famous player's playing and listen his playing at the same time in the YouTube, it is more pleasure to listen through the record. Moreover, I listen songs after selecting among various versions of the same song.

  • 3:00 - the final I think is the best part, AMAZING !

  • Whoa, he made a porn face.

  • at least he doesnt hum like Glenn Gould, he just WRECKS his flawless performances..

  • I love his facial expressions!! XD they're funny, but not way too distracting.

  • Zimerman as ever, is just without equal, this piece is just incredibly nostalgic and retrospective, I will always be amazed at how Chopin conveys emotions through sound! Chopin totally transcended the boundaries of the disciplines at which he excelled! He was also incredibly modest, often suggesting people should listen to Bach or Mozart instead of his own music! An exceptional human being !!!!

  • @Cuneglasus Reverse phychology..Heh..just joking of course.

  • Chopin lived just 39 years and he composed so much music of this quality. It is ageless.

  • love how he connects his face with the music, when it goes fast, he makes this half frown questionable look

  • I love this polish composer and this polish pianist ! ;)

  • Chopin was the most sensive and genious composer! You can't find a boring piece in his repertoire. Zimerman captures the essence of his music.

  • Speaking of genius, you can't spell the word lol

  • @trancosomarcus very true... Chopin may not be on equil ground with Mozart or Beethoven as far as composing huge works like masses and symphonies, but he surpasses ALL composers with his concept of the piano and its sounds and harmonies. Even the super titanic (and arguably greatest ever) pianist Liszt admitted he could not match Chopin's poetry. even Chopin's most simple and basic compositions that an early pianist could play (prelude in a major, or a nocturne) are pure genius

  • @Doug19752533 mozart's music is the superficial and soulless to my ears. I suppose he is a true genius for obtaining his status in western classical music given how shallow the majority of his output is.

  • @jojobruin Try piano concerto KV.488, Ave Verum Corpus, and his Requiem, and believe me, there are a lot more beautiful and deep compositions.

  • I love how he plays the middle part so smooth and clear!

  • Excellent piece! I remember that when a I was little, I watched and old cartoon and the background played was this incredible and unremarkable piece. Great memories. Great composer. Chopin for the eternity... Thanks for posting it.

  • I saw him in la salle pleyel in paris the 1st of march, he played this piece and it was amazing as always.

  • No doubt about it, Krystian Zimerman is THE Chopin god. All Chopin interpretations lead to Zimerman.

  • you think hes good ? well he is... but then imagine chopin ^^

  • I love it wonderful music!

  • 0:54 he's likes "damn I'm good"

  • @willgudmundsson hahaha lol you're totally right :-D

  • @willgudmundsson hahahaha

  • OMG CAN MANKIND EVEN HAVE words to describe this? I think it is impossible!!

  • The song I did not take long enough to master.

  • Tov havivi!

  • 1:03 i knew he was a robot...

  • loving the faces, hehe :D

  • 1:43 - 1:44 blatant video editing. he recorded two halves instead of one whole piece

  • @kazuya31

you know i think your right :D

but it still is awesome to hear this

  • genial

  • C'est clair, deux ÂMES POLONAISES ;-)

Ici une belle équilibre entré l'élégance et le romantisme. Très réfléchis et moderne... malgré le look de Krystian - un peu ... années 60.

    :-)

  • he plays the piano with the precision and economy of a seasoned snooker veteran.

he plays the forte with the devastating command of an artillery major.

this instrument was made for people like him, and like chopin.

    Love Zimmerman!

  • zimerman always delivers! always reliable, always satisfying

  • ZIMERMANNNNNNNNNNN

  • I want that mustache!

  • The ZimerMan is the Man. The end.

  • Очень тонко,прочувствованно,Звук просто изумительный.Спасибо,я в восторге!

  • This won't make sense to any but a very few! When he plays he reminds me of Stirling Moss driving a race car! And he does it as well!

  • Rarely are such powerful emotions portrayed so eloquently.

  • 0:54 - "Oh yeah!" xD

  • I think he hit that note and went "Hey how 'bout that, I just destroyed that note perfectly. Nice." then he resumed with his piece. hahaha

  • At :54, Arrrrgh, she matey....

  • I love his facial expressions. Beautiful though. (I mean the song, not his facial expressions haha.)

  • lol. if you think his facial expressions are funny playing the piano, watch "Eric Lewis plays chaos and harmony".

Let me know what you think.

    xD

it's pretty funny (a beautiful piece that he's playing, though)

  • lmao

  • not song ''piece''

  • I would be happy to say that music like this sings to me.

  • @FaceGrinder12 I think the expressions are beautiful too. :)

  • His the man. That's it.

  • Breathtakingly beautiful!

  • yar

  • Crazy eyebrow alert

  • @rbj2001 It's okay to be jealous of his eyebrows... It's okay...

  • Zimerman is amazing at Chopin!!! Excellent interpretation :)

  • @johnl5r3w perv

  • @johnl5r3w Imagine what Chopin must have did, just to come up with this stuff...

  • @smoothreaperx it is said that his music was a result of his sexual experienes....but that's only one opinion !

  • @smoothreaperx According to George Sand, the inspiration would simply come and Chopin would work at it taking plenty of time sometimes crying from frustration because he couldn't find exactly what he wanted.

  • @johnl5r3w doesn't look like an involuntary muscle spasm.

  • his hands look as if they were carressing the piano. and this is also the way it sounds.

as if the piano had to enjoy it... amazing.. i cant imagine it better

  • @anabel187 sure :D

  • This piece is fantastic too! :D

  • he plays this so delightful!

  • Amazing and deep and AWESOME!!!!!!

Zimerman puts so much style into his playin lol

  • This peice seems to bring out the dark romanticism. It's very charming.

  • Bardzo ładne.

  • what a pathos - hard to watch - but very nice to hear

  • His coattails are escaping! Seize them!

  • Bello, questo! Chi possa fare meglio!

  • ... 1:44 (piano) to 2:05 (fortisimo) ...this is awesome!

  • @genomos90

    FortiSSimo, double s :p

  • @genomos90 (crescendo)

  • his feeling of excitement is scary..(in a good way tough,,;-) ) im missing this excitement in yundi li's playing...compare the climax in the piece and you'll hear that yundi just play to mezzo forte or sumtin, while zimerman gets into a fortissimo..divine..!

  • Grande 1:54

  • 0:54 looks like he's look hes just thinking "Yeah! I rule!"

  • @churchy99 and he does

  • @ronja108 That he does - I just saw my old comment and I must've been tired! - my grammar makes no sense!

  • @churchy99 ROFL!! you're right! ahahahahah

  • @churchy99 LOL yea!

  • lol

  • Greatest polish pianist together with Rubinstein, the rest stand (e.g. Blechacz, Anderszewski) far lower

  • Blechacz is not that far lower and btw he'll probably become as good as or close to the skill level as K Z by the time hes that age. just my opinion.

  • I know it's sacrilege to say it, but I think this is better than Rubenstein's.

  • Great fingers work, great faces & great agony :D

  • Don't get me wrong--I adore Zimerman's playing--but looking at his videos, I can't help but wonder if he's ever fallen off his chair. :x

  • KILL ME.

  • Regardless of what is coming out of his fingers, he is making the most amazing faces

  • Well, it is a music video, right? I mean, this is not a live recording, but rather finger-synching to a studio recording.

  • He has the best face ever! :D

  • I thought he would kneel at 2:20!!! Love the nocturne.
