So Nixon ended up having to cut our engagement to appeal to his constituents. We were not forced to retreat. As for the rest of your statement, its based on the Moral integrity of the actions with regards to civilians. But more civilians would died had the US not intervened. Stability came about these engagements for the better.

Iran already hates us so who cares what they think about it. The drone is intact and probably was not "shot" down. The drone will land itself if looses contact or malfunctions. It should have flown home but obviously it didn't. The only sad thing is we just gave away some advanced stuff. The chinese have it by now and will be able to figure it out. As far as i know, Drones like this send most signals 1 way. They send Information back to base/ship. Drones are used to see things without having to be there. If there is ANYTHING secret in that drone, Iran already knows it.
