Actually.... Where ever two individuals existed with differing ideas wars and battles have been fought. American Indians didn't fight wars like Europeans or Asians did, instead they stole from one another and death was only seen in small doses. I don't know about African tribes but I'm 100% sure that there was some war between the different beliefs. No human being from the beginning history has been truly at peace with those around them.

It's true that the Native Americans didn't fight wars in the european style, still I think I read somewhere that the tribe of Leni Lenaps was almost completely eradicated by the neighbouring tribes. As for Africa, I've seen some pictures of the weapons they used to use and those barbed and curved blades sure as hell weren't used for hunting...

I stopped playing this game shortly after release because of bugs and because it was way too easy in VH/VH (you could steamroll with anyone). Now however (1.5), it's quite hard to conquer without getting ganged upon. It's a bit unfair, but at least there's challenge

Um, massed volleys = worst tactics in the history of mankind, it takes the most "advanced" nations in the world to realize that the best warriors today and back than the real people of America not the false europeans knew how to fight. In my opinion I believe modern warfare was learned or better off relearned from native americans. I will admit, yes my ancestors and those alike in the america's were savages. True. The British and American actions were far from heroic (smallpox blankets, more broken treaties than you can count etc.). I believe that the natives had the best possible lifestyle before the white people came and that we can still learn a thing or two from them. Not a stupid way to fight at all. Wanna know they fought this way? the muskets were smooth bore usually..innacurate the bullet didnt spin like a rifle but 'bounce' after 60 yards your hard pressed to hit a man..however with 300 you'll hit some of them! The bayonet was still seen as the prime weapon...push it home, make them run from the field where cavalry comes into it's own. A good way to fight. quicker, cleaner in some aspect.

Hessians were soldiers by hire, very common amongst Germania during the past few hundred years before the 1700s and even after. But insted much of what they were paid was given to their monarchs, but they were still paid, Hessians were paid more than the average Biritsh soldier I can pretty much garentee that, most were not forced unless by way of repenting guilt from a crime like many who ere forced into military service did.

If you have downloaded the Mod manager, all you need to do is Extract the pack file to : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data
Or atleast thats what i think you do, you will find instructions on the wbsite that ya got the download from, hope this helps.

But you really capture the essence of battle well, the drums and pipers, louder guns, lingering smoke... the only downside I can see is that it'll make battle a bit more confusing for the player trying to command, not being able to see through some heavy smoke... but I don't think that makes the battle unmanageable.

No not really, during both periods that the films are set in Britain/England behaved in no different way than any other nation of that period, but for some reason we are constantly vilified in movies/pop culture. @Soldierlozer There wasn't any good, for the Africans and Indians anyway. Europe did flourish because of the money it got from its colonies though. Most of the good that was done MUCH later (vaccines, food shipments), was done to repair the damage alredy done by the same nations.
Being powerfull certainly doesn't equal being good, but no power is simply given to any nation or individual, it has to be gained (often through by dishonourable actions) and that requires very enterprising people.

A nation/civilization/culture does not become great solely because of greed. Greed is common to man, not just the european race, so there had to be another factor that distinguished it from the other cultures around the world.

Not a stupid way to fight at all. Wanna know they fought this way? the muskets were smooth bore usually..innacurate the bullet didnt spin like a rifle but 'bounce' after 60 yards your hard pressed to hit a man..however with 300 you'll hit some of them! The bayonet was still seen as the prime weapon...push it home, make them run from the field where cavalry comes into it's own. A good way to fight. quicker, cleaner in some aspect.

Hessians were soldiers by hire, very common amongst Germania during the past few hundred years before the 1700s and even after. But insted much of what they were paid was given to their monarchs, but they were still paid, Hessians were paid more than the average Biritsh soldier I can pretty much garentee that, most were not forced unless by way of repenting guilt from a crime like many who ere forced into military service did.

well i can agree with u to some extent, yes much of their pay was given to their monarchs, but majority of the time the soldiers wernt asked to volunteer (excuse my spelling) a lot of the time since the regular army was to small and couldnt fill what england had asked them to send, so they made every town in germania to send men to go to fight for england, so really they werent given a choice, they were barely paid anything, but they were very well trained, and diciplined, so i give them credit

If you have downloaded the Mod manager, all you need to do is Extract the pack file to : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data
Or atleast thats what i think you do, you will find instructions on the wbsite that ya got the download from, hope this helps.

Awesome mod, but I play on lowest graphics already :(
But you really capture the essence of battle well, the drums and pipers, louder guns, lingering smoke... the only downside I can see is that it'll make battle a bit more confusing for the player trying to command, not being able to see through some heavy smoke... but I don't think that makes the battle unmanageable.

There`s no doubt that Mel gibson has some kind of hate of the Brits.
He makes the Brits totally evil in the Patriot awful and Brave Heart was less awful.
Watch his other film `We Were Soldiers` when he`s fighting the communist Vietnamese, he actually shows them in a positive light. the enemy General actually cares about his dying men and one VC actually gets a `heroic` charge role before getting killed and later we see his VC girlfriend all sad...

Well why do you think he hates them if he is actually showing in both movies a good view of the period, the only downside is which english brought on themselves since they were agressors in both movies. You gotta live with it, the ones who counquerd did bad things. They didnt create the biggest empire on praying to the lord all mighty and doing chorse lol :D

No not really, during both periods that the films are set in Britain/England behaved in no different way than any other nation of that period, but for some reason we are constantly vilified in movies/pop culture. Thats what you get when you judge people from the 18th/13th century, with the moral standards of 20th/21st century. Every country has a dark history of mass murder/slavery/oppression why is Britain constantly attacked over things that happen CENTURIES ago?
