That's pretty good for a 3rd attempt. But you really need to oil that poor wheel.:) It'll make it easier to treadle esp since it looks like a brand new wheel. They usually require a good bit of oil until you get them broken in.

it's difficult enough with the ready carded, the other stuff must be impossible. But i WILL get there in the end. I think i have now figured out the tension device which is a step forward. It's fun though. Do you do it?

I have done. Went on a course once. to get the thread really fine and even, you have to spin in two stages. First you spin the already spun length even tighter, then you slowly pull back the next length as you let the twist run up it by loosening your grip slightly. It feels like elastic - a lovely feeling!
