saw this and promptly got out my EVOO it's pompeian and it HAS the NAOOA quality seal so I'm not sure how you compiled your list. Plus if "fake" oil had Soy or Hazelnut it would have to list it in the ingredients list or these companies would be getting sued for one false advertising and too health lawsuits since some people are allergic to Soy and Tree nuts
I have been looking for weeks for one that is on that list and they just are not available at the stores I shop. Since Canola oil is recommended for the Omega-3s, I have gone to that until I can find a reliable source of EVOO.
Thanks for the video. I really like to see videos and articles that are educational.
I pulled up the UC Davis report and did not see any reference to soy, hazelnut, or fish oils. I searched the doc for those words. The conclusion listed the reasons the oils failed and oils other than olive were not mentioned. Where did you get that information? Who compiled the "good" list and the "bad" list of brands?
Never heard of a fake extra-virgin olive oil .. at least not here in Greece... The common Greek brands you can find in supermarkets are really good but home-produced is the best. You can smell it from a hundred yards :D
@MamaNaturalBlog I heard organic is grown from the manure from cows that are treated with hormones. So its either chemicals, hormones, or you have to buy from local. :/
I must admit, while i doubt i'll ever research this even though the references are right there. I will most likely stop buying the brands in the above list. I just hope the olive oil non sense is no where near the scope of the subsidized corn disgrace. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Thank ciaoitalia for getting me here all be it indirectly...
Its quite possible you are right but where is your proof. I really am over so called experts coming in and making claims against different products with no proof. How very american of you to say that californian olive is a safer bet for purchasing really.
@lisacrofts Sources are at the end of the video description. The most enlightening one is the New Yorker article. But for hard data, dig into the UC Davis study.
i gave up on olive oil long ago when i started having allergic problems with it. never knew it could possibly have fish oil.. i'm allergic to seafood and freshwater fish :(
i assumed i had simply developed a new food allergy. i'm enjoying your videos quite a lot :)
@CandyandTy Hi Candice, Beware of polyunsaturated fats like canola and safflower! Read more about it online... Weston A Price Foundation is a good source to learn. Try butter or unrefined coconut oil instead.
@CandyandTy Canola is the cheapest to produce of all the oils in the world. it comes from a modified by breeding rapeseed plant that befor breading was too posionous for man and animals. lucky for you the toxic oil content has been almost eleminated. dont worry your life will be over due to age befor the toxins get any blame, we all hope anyway.
I no longer use olive oil as much for consumption, certainly not for cooking. I use virgin coconut oil and virgin palm fruit oil for cooking now.
