I hate waitting for glue to dry well I've thought of something worst then that! waitting for the glue to arive! LOL I hope to get the marine goop befor Friday its going to cost a bit of $ That E6000 was no good there is nothing in Aussie that comes even close to marine goop. Remember if you put other metal other then SS into KOH it may just disappear into HHO just an extra idear add-on Regards DeltaHH-O
Hope no Sparks! LOL would'nt be good. I could have gone a smaller bolt but there would be more heat from it so I've got the bigest bolt I could get through it all made from 316 SS so as long as I cover it all up will be fine. Well you know how
I don't know whether you're right about the HHO being able to push the acrylic off though. they're like some of the smallest atoms on the planet I think, so would rush through there no problem.
I noticed your cutting blade too. I have a similar blade but mostly use my dremel type tool for cutting the acrylic. However ZFF has said in one of his latest videos that using a blade with the teeth pointing down instead of up would help you follow the lines you've drawn
Another thing I want to point out is how close the bolts are to the plates. Unless you cover them up you're going to get some current leakage. where the current will bypass your plates and so decrease your efficiency.
Is this your first cell though? If it is I'm very impressed, the quality of your work seems to be very good and I look forward to getting some numbers!
yeah I think that it could push it off you know what the cells are like endless pressure!:-) Thanks Stu Yes once I have wired it all up I was going to give it a coat of glue I dunno if that will work? Yeah the guy that cut the plates did'nt make the tab's as fat as I wanted or as long. Once I drilled the holes there was only a mill of metal next to the hole left to right so I'm going to have to put washers & nuts in there to hold the tabs together and to stop them from braking.
When I was looking for blades I did remember what Zff said about them going down but I did see anything like that there so I just go ones that said acrylic they really worked great anyway :-) Also I wanted to say your idear with haven 2 extra plates to push the cable ties down to the depth you want is the best one! makes it so easy to do.
I suppose giving all the connections a coat of glue would probably work fine. There's also a liquid electrical tape available. I think it's like a rubber paint which may also work quite well although I haven't tested this.
And yeah, I noticed the skinny metal at the edges of the drill holes. Hopefully as long as the washers are pressed tight it should be ok. You wouldn't want the heat building up on those so much that it burnt away. Sparks!
nice cell. I am hoping to build a similar flat plate stack next, but that will be later on. Again nice work.

Not too shabby a build there.

Cool, hopefully we can all learn from each other.
