Thousands of car accident victims were left behind by the massive USA government bailouts of GM and Chrysler. The $50 billion (There tax money, not G Ms or Chrysler)rescue of GM and the restructuring of Chrysler allowed them to "wash away legal responsibility for car-accident victims who had won damages or had pending lawsuits," OMG just found out,NO VOLT FOR ME.
The problem is that no self-respecting (greedy) investor (who's only interest is money at any cost) is going to put money into a product that once sold gives no more return (I.E. EV's and solar panels) when they can invest in, and promote an auto that requires a fuel (I.E. gas, hydrogen, ethanol,). A fuel that the car owner has no choice but to buy from them, increasing their profits significantly.
The Volt will have a 16kWh pack, with 8kWh providing the 40-mile range. GM is limiting the pack to usage between 30% and 80% charge to make the batteries last long (10+ years). If you drained it to zero and got 80-miles or more AER, you could damage the pack and it would only last about 4 years (just like a laptop battery).
The Volt and the Prius are two completely different hybrids. The Volt is a "series" hybrid. The Prius, even with a plugin modification, is only a "parallel" hybrid.
you're an idiot. The reason they limit it's range to 40 miles is to preserve the battery's lifetime. A battery that is let to drain all the way over and over will not last very long. But if you limit it's drain like they did they can make it last for years.
The Prius is nothing but a conventional car with an oversized alternator. Technologically speaking, it is pretty much (even adding the possibility of a plug in version) at a dread end.
The Volt is a completely new vehicle (compared to a conventional ICE powered car) which just happens to have a small engine for extra power.
Because if you would do the research you would see the Volt for what it really is A CAR THAT CAN ONLY GO 40 MILES ON THE BATTERIES WHEN IN REALITY IT COULD GO MUCH MUCH FURTHER like 125 miles before the recharging systems kick in .125 miles is a big differance from 40 miles if you're making several trips around town.

What kinda since does that make. GM doesn't make gas or drill for oil.
The investor in GM is no better or worse off if the car runs on electricity, gas, diesel, cow s__t, or air.
P.S. Speaking of Cow S__t, I really due like the idea of Natural Gas (Methane) powered vehicles, but that's a different story.

How am I a puppet?
Because I see technological progression when I see it?

That doesn't make the Prius any better.
It simply means GM is being conservative in the first version of the Volt in order to keep costs down.
75% of people ONLY drive 40 miles, so for the majority of people 40 miles electric range will still shave a hefty chunk off their gasoline budget.

I had problems myself with YouTube, trying to reply to other videos.
