Great performance! One of my favorite musical numbers from any movie. She was often maligned as an actress but she was quite underrated, IMHO. For many, if not most, of the roles she played, she was quite good. And get a load of those legs!

She may have had her insecurities but this classy lady knew how to sell a number as you can see here. She could sing, dance and act--that's called a Triple Threat if you ever hear that expression. She was truly a gift to entire world.

Terrific song! great lyrics! Too true to be good! (because it's too good to be true!). I like the way MM was able to have the camera follow her legs and hand movements! her interaction with the men (wanting her) reminds me of a lion tamer cracking the whip! Her mellow velvety voice hypnotizes the audience (except for the older women who clearly resent her spunkiness, of course!).. It's so true: after we get what we want, we really don't want what we wanted at all! Do we know WHAT we want?--Duh?!

@ShelbyGB not sure about the inspiration part, but she seemed to be an endearing person even away from the stage. would have loved to see her in more bolder, raw roles. i guess because this image was working she just kept at it. she had so much potential, always watered down by having to be sexy/cutesy. im glad her writing, that honest interview, and people who knew her became public, to show her as a human being. i wish she had more positivity in her life.
