Never force a dog to do something it is afraid of. Their fears might seem irrational to you but they are real to the dog. Train in small steps - ie one step rather than a flight - and positive reinforcement with voice, touch and treats. You will have a great dog forever. Love the dog. Mom's legs not too bad either.
Spay and neuter anyone that still believes in "hope and change".
Yes.... I agree that the little doodle is afraid of stairs, but when coaxed gently as this woman has done, over time, the doodle will overcome her fear of stairs! It takes time, patience is the key and the doodle will then have no fear. She is like a toddler just starting to walk for the first time, and learning how to navigate! I think the woman is doing the right thing.
@EmAU8 I am so glad that your doodle has overcome her fear of stairs! I am so glad to help out clarifying this. I currently doggie sit for a friend's labradoodle and she's very funny. She has no fear of anything, well maybe of unexpected noises, and even some of the unfamiliar objects like a toilet plunger or a huge halloween decoration like a skeleton, for example!
How hard is it? You try and make something do something when it is scared, it will struggle to do it. Your need for it to do it will make its fear worse. People can be so bloody asinine sometimes. Actually scrap that. Most of the time.
lol that looks like my dog when we tried to push her off the dock once.
