  • THIS is the great trainer of Nick Diaz?! One fight on Wikipedia. Knocked out in 27 seconds?!

  • cesar gracie is dope

  • Man this would help me so good.

  • wtf....a Gracie who is white and speaks perfect english?

    really?

  • @d3rfliw back before the gracies migrated to brazil they are all white from scotland

  • @d3rfliw The Gracie family's ancestry was originally from Scotland. Brazil is a very racially diverse country & the Gracie's have lived there for at least 7 generations now and have obviously intermarried with many of the country's non-white population. Most especially those from Helio Gracie's lineage are darker complected, but some Gracies from Carlos' side do have lighter features.

Also Cesar lived in the US as a teenager with his mom for several years which is why his English is so good.

  • @barrettokarate is he actually brazilian? coz i'v neva heard him speak portuguese and hes da only gracie i'v seen wiv blue eyes

  • @apraku1000 Yes he is Brazilian. He was born there but when he was a kid he and his mom lived in the US for a few years before moving back to Brazil. Then in 1990 he came back & taught BJJ with Rorion before opening his own school.

I’ve never heard him speak in Portuguese either. Maybe he only speaks it with family and other native speakers. There are a few other Gracie's with blond hair, & blue, hazel, or green eyes. For some reason they're just not as well known as the darker complected ones.

  • @barrettokarate thnx man

  • @d3rfliw Ignorance is definitely a bliss for you Sr.

  • Is that a young David Terrell as a purple belt? Fuck man it's crazy to see videos of him being a jiu-jitsu monster and then see him as a less experienced jiu-jitsu. Sometimes when someone is so good you forget that at one point he knew nothing of jiu-jitsu.

  • In a traditional armbar from guard, where one leg is across the face and the other goes under the armpit an across the back; yes you don't want to cross your legs because you're more likely to get stacked. However, in this case where both legs are across the face and you don't have the leg under the armpit to control the body, crossing the legs makes the hold more secure. That's my take at least.

  • I meant he had his leg around my shoulder, omaplata was the most painful submission I've ever been in, or the americana

  • I've tried doin the same thing in practice that the guy on top did, hug the body to avoid the triange, and what Cesar just showed is exactly what happened to me. Avoided the triangle, but he rotated around my right arm, I thought pssh this guy is makin a mistake, I'm gonna pass his guard, next thing you know he had his leg around my arm and had an omaplata, tapped. It was no gi though, I'm glad to see some Cesar Gracie vids, since I train at Dave Terrells gym, and he's a Cesar Gracie disciple.

  • MMA Legend?

  • @EyeMPabo well not as a fighter, as a teacher oh ya big time

  • Thanks for sharing.

  • I am a brown belt in Jiu-Jitsu, but I advise after you hit pruple and on look into other arts like sambo, judo and wresioling, they all compliment each other....

  • Bjj is just the friggin best

  • i don't know if i'm right or wrong, but aren't you not supposed to cross your legs on the armbar? if you do, it won't put as much pressure. that's what my bjj teacher always told me

  • you can with a gi on...there is more controle cause of the fabric friction. with your legs crossed in gi its actually allot harder to escape than if legs uncrossed

  • you just have to make sure the leg closest to the face is crossed under, that way it can;t be pulled ove rthe head to escape

  • I don't know who you train under put I train under Pedro Sauer and he told me the complete opposite.

  • its not necesary cross your feet, the key move is to keep your knees together

  • I said it's bad to cross your feet, not good...

  • your right

  • ha ha love in it. oh yes i hate being put in those moves.. ha ha ha ha love in it

  • fucking brilliant

  • anyone know where i can find a Gracie school in new jersey. I mean like really affiliated with the family.

  • google OnTheMat

  • you dont need a gracie school, some schools that arent affiliated with the gracies can be even better schools who are more up to date with modern jiu jitsu. just make sure you check them out before you sign up.

  • Name one...

  • kioto bjj

  • it good in compatshion. i dont suguest for a st. fight thoug i would sugest the arm triangel that why your opent cant hit low with a knee or a punch.

  • nice work

  • you must be a faggot to think about all that detail- chicken shit!!

  • looks gay... looks effective too...

  • looks gay... looks effective too...

  • ya it is effective my partner in the dojo have put it on eachother.

  • its funny , most of the people that say the same thing you do end up either choked or in a triangle , big mouths...

  • i bet those "gay" guys will kick ur ass

  • they will break ur arm and no u couldnt beat my ass i would really fuck u up

  • tyvm for the video ^^

  • wait if cesar knows so much about jiu jitsu, why did he lose to frank shamrock?

  • shut up

  • no you shutup...if this guy is so great why did he get his ass pwned when he tried to do mma?

  • by a legend in his fist mma fight ever fight if you knew anything about mma or bjj you would know ceaser gracie is amazing. he trains some of the best fighter out there. i went to one of his seminars and he has such a wealth of grappling knoweldge it would boggle your mind. just because he loses his first fight ever to a legend doesn't mean he doesn't know anything about jiu-jitsu he would tap you out 50 times in 5 minutes...grow up douche

  • tune5k is obviously some closet WWE fan, where the shit talking is more important than the actual fighting.

Did you see any demonstration of Jiu Jitsu in his fight with Shamrock what so ever? You're stupid to think that this guy doesn't know his shit. I'm not saying anything bad about Shamrock, but even he wasn't talking any shit about Gracie being an bad fighter.

As far as what you're capable of, so far all I see you being capable of is being an ignorant douche.

  • die you ignorant fuck.

  • BJJ is not MMA. Next question...

  • BJJ is not MMA. Next question...

  • nm i hate frank shamrock due to the renzo fight i actually wish cesar broke his arm off

  • what how did u come up with that? a lot of mma is bjj.

  • good techniqe...poz mma gladio team Poland

  • nice stuff! thx for posting.

  • This is a good basic instructional dvd of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Cesar Gracie isn't one of the best fighter of the Gracie family, everybody knows that. But in this dvd set it show the basic and some intermediate techniques very clearly and in a good way. Remember that the best fighter of BJJ use the basic movements, the fundamental, to win in every competition.

  • this isint Gracie Jiu-Jitsu

    dont bullshit ppl

  • Yeah, cuz, you know, with a guy like Cesar Gracie showing BJJ moves and all... gotta be bullshit!

    LMMFAO

  • OMOPLATA i think is SCAPULA BONE its a shoulder lock

  • Whut means lomaplanta?

  • huh?

  • loma-planta.

What does it mean in Spanish Brazilian?

  • I strongly doubt if there is such a language as "Spanish Brazilian"

  • Omoplata. It's a shoulder lock.

  • Thanks Azkadaz.

I'll be ordering at Arriba in Scottsdale

"I'll have the Omoplata. Extra guac this time."

There is a new Gracie BJJ in Phoenix. I should look into it.

  • Good stuff - thanks

  • Sweet. I'm gonna try this one.
