I have gateway laptop M-6880

when i turn it on the gateway logo appears and it freezes after only a fiew seconds the screen starts changing color you can se horizantal doted lines and the screen becomes brighter and brighter CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHATS WRONG WITH IT AND HOW TO FIX IT?? THANKS MUCH!!!
