  • what the f....

  • It is ALL TRUE!

    Sort yourselves out.

  • NEW dr pepper 5: it's not for n***ers

NEW dr pepper 1: not for muslims

NEW dr pepper 0: fags can suck it! (but not in a gay way)

  • NOT SEXIST...

  • I don't know what's funnier.... This obviously tongue-in-cheek mockery of advertizing, or the fact that people are getting upset about it and thinking that it's serious.

  • i hope you guys know that is a sketch show in the uk called "that mitchell and webb look" not to be taken seroiusly.

  • epic.

  • Come on guys, this is satire. Don't you know that British humor is sarcastic?

  • Just cuz most tv ads make sexist/simplistic assumptions about women doesn't mean there aren't presumptive/sexist ads directed at men too,& no one said there weren't. People who get pissy about how narrow minded they think feminists are are quite narrow minded themselves for implying anyone who calls themselves a feminist has the same ideas about sexism. I'd guess some of you fall for those penis enlargement product ads. Trust me, they solve nothing unless your problem was not being itchy enough

  • @Craxblorg So you had penis enlargement?

  • Wonder how many people sued the pieces of shit.

  • @mimikawaii7386 il take you more seriously when you can string a sentence together that actually makes sense.

  • @scooterok1 I'll*. Learn more English. :)

  • @mimikawaii7386 The funny thing is you could actually understand what i meant. Unfortunately, it wasn't the other way round. And no one sued them, because it's comedy, not an advertisement.

  • Drink beer while shaving?...

    Gotta try that...

  • Woah, why has there never been a beer commercial with a trunk-shot of a guy grabbing a beer like that? It'd make millions!

  • Haha this is just hilarious and so true! XD

  • Because we're already BRILLIANT! LOL!

  • There was an ad on for a small micro hoover (obvs aimed at women) with the tag line "may be small but it's all about performance"... can you imagine a male product being marketed towards a male audience, that made light of women with a looser vagina, surely this is the same thing? There'd be uproar.

  • @cloudbowski I agree completely. Those bitches on "the view" would have a field day with that one.

  • During a rape trial, they will drag a the victim's name through the mud, call her a liar, look at all the men she slept with, even call them as witnesses, trying to make try the rapist look a good guy. Even blame it on the clothes she wears like she was asking for it. When are people going to be responsible for their own behavior?

  • During a trial on some sex scandal, what difference does it make what clothes a women wears and how many men she sleeps with whether or not she was asking for it?

  • All we truly need is a career and a sperm donation, now you shut the hell up! We make the choice, it is some lost souls that have been lied to by the media that have been misled. Take your war and screw off all ready! Clean your own fucking kitchen asshole!

  • So true, I think the media needs to look at how it's portraying women.

  • @RobzFanpire it has nothing to do with portarying women or "the media". Companies want to sell products. If this is what works in commercials they'll do it. Why wouldn't they?

and oh btw this was a comedy sketch. Are you familiar with humor?

  • @MWcrazyhorse Yeah I do know it's a comedy sketch but it's also making a point. When you think about it men get headaches and back problems but it's never them on the adverts because they don't want to make men look "weak".

  • @RobzFanpire come on be real. There are plenty of adverts for products on typical men's issues (impotence, loss of hair, the prostate, stress etc. etc.), but it is more on medicine than cosmetical products, because men spend money differently. It is about selling products nothing else. imho Feminists have gotten paranoid similair to the u.s "truther" movement, no offence intended ofc. Are you familiar with the term cognitive bias? There is a pattern of deviance. It may not even be intendened.

  • I am a woman, before you start saying anything- but it is a fact marketing works on stereotypes- I'm not saying it's right- but in order to sell the product you need to make the customer think they need it more than the money.

  • @ShatteredxSpiritx obvious fest

  • I love being a man.

  • @misstinwhistle Capitalism is so fun...

  • I think Spike TV is the most sexist channel there is, like they need another channel exclusively for men only.Shows like man answers, give me a break, half naked women in bikinis? If you want answers go look things up on the internet. Just about everything on TV and movies is designed and catered to men and if it isn't it is so women look good or smell good for men at high unreasonable prices.I think it was Flavor Flav that said " Don't believe the hipe.'

  • @7777anastasia So, you feel the same about Lifetime right?

  • @KurtVachon Yeah, I know, the rape channel. I realize the rape channel is portraying women as weak and as the victim. But I can't help but feel that you're trying to antagonize me.

  • @7777anastasia I'm more concerned that Lifetime portrays men as rapists.....

  • @KurtVachon Well.... they are. No, not all of them. But Lifetime doesn't exist because I'm wrong or because women fantasize about being raped.

  • @7777anastasia Well then, by your logic. Women are weak and victims. No, not all of them. But these type of products dont exist because I'm wrong.

  • @getsilly222 Exactly, Femminism has been out being scared of men.

  • White Power is an ideology that promotes equality between the races; nothing more, nothing less. See how stupid you sound Tiffany?

  • Wow, that was surprisingly funny!

  • why is that women not in the kitchen :)

  • @Warlord795 Funny and original joke! :)

  • YouTube - giving virgins a place to argue since 2005!

  • @mrada2001 Well said! :)

  • This commercial inspired me to get drunk, even though I was already drunk once today and I slept it off.

Thank you, Y chromosome, thank you, summer, thank you, friends and thank you, Eastern Europe.

  • I support Traditional Feminism: get your ass back in the kitchen and shut the hell up already.

  • According to Merriam-Webster:

    fem·i·nism

    1) the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes

    2) organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests

The first definition is about seeking something that is neither possible, nor desirable. Noone wants men and women to be perfectly equal. Men and women are different on every possible aspects of life. Men and women are NOT opposite, they are complementary.

The second definition is synonymous with sexism.

  • @tiffanynem Well, no.

  • Comment removed

  • @tiffanynem I think you criticize too quickly. The idea of 'equality' is understood in various ways & may offend some. It may suggest that women should be THE SAME as men, thus raising the image of the anglo-white-male as a prototype to aspire to. For others 'equality' may mean sthing different, such as equal opportunities. Personally, I would like to have the same opps. as men, but I also want raising children to be so respected that men aspire to gain paternity leave as well (for example).

  • @Commentary1984 You want women to be equal to men - in opportunity, not responsibility.

    Typical feminist hypocrisy.

  • @ORCA4312 Actually, in responsibility as well. But of course you've never really put in more than 30 minutes of attention towards what feminists say, so how could you possible know that? :P

  • @ORCA4312 Compare your comment about feminist hypocrisy with the revelations in the video called "What Women Want is Worship".

  • @Commentary1984 You're awesome.

  • @badpseudonym Wow thanks!

  • haha this is hilarious! and very true :D

  • Ye we have still alot to change. I am male, but the unrealistic expectations set to females seems very unhealty for their view on themselves.

  • lady mustache is sexy

  • @micktheman100 To each his own...

  • kitchen...

  • This is EXACTLY what British advertising is like. Is it the same in other countries?

  • @Bethster7 different in america lol

  • @Bethster7 exactly the same in argentina

  • @Bethster7 Oh yes. American advertising does the same exact crap.

  • Excellent.

  • thumbs up! so i can take the piss of my class next lesson! OHAI GEORGE OHAI HOLLY! ;D

  • This is absolutely awesome.

  • Shave and get DRUNK because your already brilliant LMAO! :D

  • this video is the truth. do you see the vagisil commercials im like cmon really

  • Comment removed

  • but thats funny? why would you moan over this? :s

  • The problem is that women have a biological tendency to be insecure, whereas men to be overly confident ( when confidence is not justified that is) - the advertising will capitalize on our intrinsic characteristics, resulting in women getting more insecure and men ever more cocky. Advertising is a profit-centric activity, and just like with everything involving profit, ethics is not a priority.

  • @muntelevenu5 I disagree that it's biological, and men can still be ridiculously insecure. They just use cockiness as a way of overriding it. It's socially unacceptable for men to admit to their insecurities, and it's socially unacceptable for women to be cocky. Although I guess it's true that society does have higher standards of femininity than masculinity...

  • @insanityisagift - I would like to agree with you, but any gender research book will prove otherwise. Indeed, men TOO have insecurities, but fewer and, as you yourself pointed out, don't show them as often because it's not socially accepted. This social norm diminished men's insecurities over time as well. I personally prefer insecure people over the cocky ones, but I believe the cocky types have more to gain from their attitude than the insecure ones.

  • @muntelevenu5 Definitely :) Can I ask what kind of gender research book? Are you talking about genetics or biochemistry, or do you mean evolutionary theory? I've never heard about a study into sex and insecurity.

  • @insanityisagift First book that comes to mind is Dr Louanne's Female and Male Brain (fresh read). She comes with an evolutionary perspective but backs up with biochemistry. She says that testosterone is the hormone of confidence..and men have it in a 4 to 10-fold amount than women. Her experiments show that women with higher testosterone score higher on confidence than their lower dose counterparts.

  • @muntelevenu5 Wow, that's interesting. Thanks :)

  • You women succumb to your own sexism far more than men ever could. Cosmetics is a multi-billion dollar industry; it's not that way because you are secure in yourselves.

  • @cosg9531 Maybe it's because some of us women actually *gasp* ENJOY wearing makeup? I suppose you think all men are only shaving and drinking beer because ads told them to do it too, huh? Let's not forget that beer companies are thriving too. I'm also certain that NO men have ever been pressured into shaving by ads. ;)

  • @cosg9531 And just because women are insecure it justifies a sexist ad that capitalizes on the insecurity? The advertising and the multi-billion cosmetics industry just reinforce this pattern. Looking at effects and ignoring the cause is infantile.

  • @cosg9531 You could certainly say the same about fast cars and big tvs... but that would just be sexist.

  • @insanityisagift Not at all. Your comment doesn't hold any relevance because many women also like fast cars and big tvs.

  • @cosg9531 What? Men wear makeup too, so does that make your point irrelevant as well? It doesn't stop the industry from relying heavily on male insecurity, no-ones going to buy a car that goes three times faster than the national speed limit out of practicality.

  • Comment removed

  • @cosg9531 no one's secure in themselves to begin with. that's probably when advertising hooks us.

  • Perfection.

  • Good satire on the aim of advertising. Appealing to ego & insecurity to sell products. I particurlarly liked the kid in the multistained shirt.

  • @taffwob

    You liked the kid? Paedo.

  • @lewisp31 Think you're making a vast misinterpretation of what I've said or are just battling your own inner demons.

  • @taffwob

It was a joke. Bell end.

  • @lewisp31 Call me Paedo as a joke, then is Bell End a joke also. You youngsters and your crazy sense of humour.

  • @taffwob

The bell end part wasn't a joke...

  • I almost didn't notice the woman's hand on his chest.

  • Men-shave and get drunk. LOL

  • Comment removed

  • @TheSquelzy Odd, but true; it's like a some invisible rule of the internet. Heres some extreme example, since this one is intended as a joke:

    /watch?v=_OxmLOEaJsk

I wonder if researchers of social psychology are using YouTube as a test field for their experiments..? Would be a great platform to do so.

  • interesting how on youtube, anything thats tryna get women equal with men has lots of thumbs down, and stuff like this, has all the thumbs up. How fucking great.

  • @TheSquelzy huh? But this is sort of a satire of the ads directed at women. This is a fun clip :) (As are all M&W clips, I think.)

And btw, I'm a woman that considers herself as a feminist....

  • @TheSquelzy

It's satire. Dry British humor. Poking fun at painfully sexist commercials.

  • LAWL, but really this is actually the sort if thing that the media plants in our heads-All be it more subtly, but lets face facts, it's undeniable.

  • @dhvsheabdh

I think this sketch is actually very sympathetic towards women. At least it's quite obvious that they don't side with the last bit on a 1:1 level.

  • Comment removed

  • I love how this is turning into to a debate about sexism. Its satire, learn to take a joke guys.

  • I still think many people misunderstand the word 'feminism.' Feminism is an ideology that promotes EQUALITY between the sexes; nothing more, nothing less. You can't call someone an 'extreme feminist' or a 'feminazi' without altering the meaning. If an individual believes females are superior to males, that is NOT feminism!

  • @tiffanynem hmm well it looks for equality for women spcifically, not equality between the sexes. I've never seen any feminist groups out protesting for fathers rights

  • @randmnumber That's because the term "feminism" has been hijacked by post-feminists. Feminism's original main goal was to secure the vote and obtain equal work rights for women. Now it's become a bit of a joke because of all the super-hardcore post-feminists who seem to hate men simply because their grandfathers oppressed their grandmothers. Post-feminists are jerks, basically.

  • @randmnumber Females have been the more oppressed sex historically. Naturally, they're going to have certain priorities. (I don't mean to negate sexism directed at males.)

  • @tiffanynem so they're for equality between the sexes, but one sex is more equal than the other.

  • @randmnumber I'm not entirely sure what that means...

  • @tiffanynem you're obviously not an Orwell reader so...

  • @tiffanynem when feminists start campaigning to stop alimony, i'll believe you

  • @tiffanynem that's ridiculous. If you cared about equal rights, you would call it EQUALITY. Since you pick one gender to base your philosophy on, you are by definition giving that one preference. It would be as stupid as me going around saying I'm a masculist for equal rights. It would be like someone calling themselves a Muslim not because they followed Islam but because they wanted equal rights for all religions. If you are a Muslim it means you follow Islam, not that you want equal righ

  • @lbq9q89

Lol, I didn't coin the term 'feminism.' But I do agree with you; I think an asexual label would be more appropriate. In any case, I'm not going to protest a philosophy simply because I don't think the name is fitting.

You can call it whatever you want; I'm for equality between the sexes. In other words, what we define as 'Feminism.'

  • @tiffanynem I'm all for equal rights too but "what we define as 'Feminism.'" is something else. Not only is the label bad but the vast majority of people associate feminism more with misandry than equal rights. I agree with your philosophy, but if I were you I would choose a different way of describing it because as I have shown 'feminism' fails *both* by connotation and denotation. When you are communicating with others the goal is for people to understand your ideas, not be mislead.

  • @lbq9q89

Indeed; it's been thrown around so carelessly that the vast majority doesn't know what it really means. And I agree with you--true communication relies upon both parties understanding each other. I provide the definition for just that reason. Of course, it's cool if you don't want to use the word. :)

  • @tiffanynem You are free to provide your own definition for that word or for any word, but the ultimate authority on what a word really means is not my definition or your definition or Webster;s definition, but the way the word is *used* by the masses. "Feminism" because of its intrinsic meaning etymology), connotation AND common usage is an inappropriate word to use to describe the philosophy that we both believe in. For gosh sakes , if you mean equality why not say equality - y complicate?

  • @tiffanynem "If an individual believes females are superior to males, that is NOT feminism!"

What would you call someone like Andrea Dworkin?

  • @Imrankniazi Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with Andrea Dworkin. I read through her wiki article, but the only controversial bit of info I came across was her anti-pornography stance. I'd appreciate any examples you can provide. (Nevertheless, I'm going to argue beforehand: if she does not exemplify feminism, then she is not a feminist. No matter who labels her as one.)

  • @tiffanynem Sorry, not true. Feminism started as a movement to promote women´s rights, so that they have the same rights men do. Now, most women who were considered feminist stoppped there, but some do in fact believe that women should have more right than men. They are still feminist, because they are still promoting women´s rights, but they go too far, therefore, they are extreme feminists.

  • @jursle What, exactly, do you mean by, "they go too far,"?

  • @tiffanynem No, feminism promotes rights and privileges for women, it has nothing to do with equality. Those who promote equality (in cases where it's possible), should be called equalists or something like that...

    Feminism is synonym to sexism...

  • @Simboiss

When the term "equalist" becomes a part of the English language, only then will I adopt it. For now, I suggest you seek out the dictionary definition of 'feminism.'

  • @Simboiss so its a kind of world domination scheme.

  • @tiffanynem The thing is, most feminists have an erroneous view on social phenomenon and are unwilling to give up the privileges of chivalry while at the same time demanding equality. Sorry, but if you want to be taken care of and still have all the rights of men, that is called domination.

  • @ipwnorcs

I'm interested to know what sort of chivalry you have in mind; care to elaborate? (If it's alimony, don't bother-- 500 character youtube comments aren't the best format for such discussions. :))

  • @tiffanynem

A woman that believes females are superior to males are called Femnazis.

    Just sayin'

  • @iamantony1

According to whom? The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines it quite differently. (Rush Limbaugh's definition doesn't have any merit; just sayin'.)

  • @tiffanynem

    Urbandictionary>Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

It shows the opinions of people and people are what cause a language to evolve with such slang terms etc.

Seriously though, you can't exactly have a direct definition for such a word. But Urbandictionary agrees with me so I'm using that :p

  • @tiffanynem Just because that is the definition of the word, doesn't mean that's the case.

  • Men! Shave and get drunk! Because you're already brilliant

  • No, I'm not gay. Should a woman be able to trade a view at her cleavage (sexual personal power) for work instead of actual work the way men do? Apparently, you haven't noticed the breadth and depth of commercialized media that target women by telling them that men are dumb dolts. Well, women are paying attention to that message.

  • A much more accurate parody on the men's end would've been: "Men, shave and get drunk, because you're too stupid and embarrassing to accomplish anything else."

    Anybody else agree?

  • hmmm... no, if men are so stupid, then why are all the great inventions, the ones helping women to, done by men hmm?

  • @renardo3333 I'm not saying that it would've been an accurate portrayal of men. I'm saying that it would've been an accurate portrayal of the way men are shown in advertising, which I think is a fucking horrible double standard. Men are almost always portrayed as hyperactive and scheming buffoons that come up with stupid ideas or act in ways that make their more "sensible" wives and daughters roll their eyes in exasperation, even if the commercial isn't particularly aimed at either men or women.

  • @ometta7 No, I never agree with stupid.

  • @cosg9531 Christ...another idiot that doesn't get what I was trying to say.

The advertising and entertainment industry, contrary to what this parody is suggesting, tends to depict men as oafish and childish morons who constantly embarrass their much more intelligent wives and daughters.

In a comedic show or commercial where stupid or embarrassing parents are portrayed, the father is almost always portrayed as the stupidest.

That's why this parody is inaccurate.

    Moron.

  • @ometta7 No, it's not inaccurate. There are multiple stereotypes that can be portrayed. Advertisers use whichever one will get their things sold. Take for example, the popular Old Spice commercials of late. That's exactly this.

  • @GenDoukeshi

The Old Spice commercials seem to be using stereotypes in an ironic way though.

  • @Asarelah I wouldn't call it ironic exactly, but definitely over-the-top. Regardless, the message is still MEN: Use this and be awesome.

  • @GenDoukeshi

True, but the creators of the commercial said they were specifically targeting women because they do most of the shopping for body washes and so forth...its a rather multilayered commercial when you think about it.

  • @GenDoukeshi I thought the Old Spice commercials were based on the idea that stupid people on the internet adore things that are weird or random because it makes them feel like individuals. There's no stereotyping in those, because that's exactly the kind of shit that this generation eats up like chocolate fondue.

  • @ometta7 I'm pretty sure this is just saying advertsing targeted towards men is mostly for beer and shaving cream and is saying "use this and you'll show how awesome you are" while most of the advertising directed at women is saying "you need this to be awesome, without it you're just a mess"

  • @NickStedmon Either way, both play on the insecurities of the people they're targeting.

I messed up, didn't realize what exactly this was mocking. My bad.

    My point still stands, however.

  • @ometta7 you live a life surrounded by idiots.

  • Genius!

  • for god's sake, SORT YOURSELF OUT

  • @feministsAreCorrupt all this talk about politics and whores is making my butt wet.

  • "and your childrens clothes are filthy" i think i exploded a lung

  • its 2 am and i almost fell of my chair trying to laugh silently... =D..

  • It's funny a lot of adverts for cosmetics aimed at men end with some really hot girl all over them

  • Every time someone uses the "get back in the kitchen" joke, it just gets funnier and funnier!

    NOT.

    Be original, at least.

  • @starxdust925 Get off the Amstrad and cook my fry up.

  • @starxdust925 What are you doing on youtube? Get back to the kitchen!

  • Get back in the kitchen and make me a sandwich!

  • @BigUndertaker Give me an orgasm and I'll give you a fucking sandwich.

  • huh, what's a satire?

  • I love the approving nod Rob gives the beer when the medicine cabinet opens.

  • I wish i could fit a glass of beer in the medicine cabinet!

  • That's a funny looking kitchen :S

  • and I thought when I clicked on this video it'd be a joke

  • Thumbs up if you're fed up with idiots trying to argue about feminism.

  • LMAO. very funny. me like :)

  • fucking awesome thats hilarious.

  • Lol I found this funny its taking the piss out of the advertising industry more than anything else.

  • Did anyone notice the hand grab Rob's chest at the end?

  • sexism works in favor of women 90% of the time. i just had to get my haircut for work. but did any of the women have to change the way they looked? nope. because if they were told they needed to change their hair or makeup to make them more presentable, it would be a lawsuit. thanks to the years of blatant sexism in the past, women are now untouchable when they're sexist towards men. be sure to thank your grandfather for screwing the pooch on that one
