@KattjaNOR couldn't you tell me how to make the custard. The truth is that tomorrow I'd like to prepare this cake for my family (as I'll have my birthday) but I'm not very sure about the pastry cream. Really thanks in advance. :)
Princess Cake! Ahhhh! I Luuuuuv Princess Cake! My Mum makes the best one. We learned about it when a handsome young Swedish sailor came to stay at our home. Well, not really a sailor, but he worked on a ship. So yah, kind of a sailor. Mmmh.
@amanners1993 wow! that is really nice to hear. pratar du svenska? I guess you do not, yet. Well, your first lesson from me will be Prinsesstårta = Princess Cake ;)
Love it! I am obsessed - time to make one and try it for myself! Living in Tokyo so will search out some swedish shops to see if the green marzipan is available... unless I can make it? A little hard work? :)
@metcalfejoanna well you can make it yourself and but as you said, it is hard work that I prefer to skip if I don't have to! But, you should be able to find regular marzipan in some store in Tokyo, then you just have to you roll it out yourself. Good luck! (if you can't find it, here is the recipe: candy.about.com/od/nougatmarzipancandy/r/Basicmarzipan.htm)
Great video! That's my favourite cake in Sweden and I want to follow your recipe to make it here in France (Grenoble). Do you know if that sponge base you take out of the oven is available in shops in France? (I have no oven in my room so it'd be great if I could find something like it.) I had a look around Carrefour and Casino but couldn't find anything like it.
@k1mk1mk1m I'm glad you like it! Yes, the sponge cake is available in a Swedish store in Paris called Affären, 17, rue Duperrè. Unfortunately I don't know about any Swedish store in Grenoble. Next episode will be recorded here in Sweden which is where I will be for the summer. See you in the show!

Mine was better ;) And I made the cake from the bottom ;) Why didn't you whip the cream more? Your cream was floating.
KattjaNOR 10 months ago
@KattjaNOR yours was better? well I'm all okay admitting that you might have beaten me in princess cake baking. But the cream was aaall good.
linnlar 10 months ago
@linnlar Ok. It just looked that you cream was not whipped enough. I didn't mean to be mean.
