  • LOL! This was the MadTV of the 1980s. I used to love this show! RIP John Candy.

  • Great great tv show!!!

  • One of the greatest shows ever produced, I miss the old SCTV...John Candy, Eugene Levy and the gang are true comedy legends!!!

  • I love Joe Flaherty playing Ward as a boozehound.

  • That little creep Beaver is really going to get it up the butt "now".

  • Their impressions are all pitch perfect. This is just spectacular.

  • Joe Flaherty does a killer Hugh Beaumont!

  • Love SCTV..people to this day still talk about the show

  • GOD o-o-----? 712

  • Call to GOD

a cross off this Guy (ortiz)? o-o-----? Costa Verde #51

  • Catherine O'hara made every skit she was in just that much better.

  • Fantastic. Haven't seen this in many years.''Life stinks. Yeah, but so do you Beaver." lol. Thanks.

  • My mom is watching Leave it to Beaver right now...naturally I had to look this up again. lol

  • This is pretty good. First time I've seen it.

  • i love leave it to beaver, and this was funny as fuck, cause some moments in the show really do seem corny to me, this kinda brings them out a bit more :)

  • get a job ya creep

  • john candy would have been better as larry mondello...or lumpy rutherford.

  • @johnrunion I LOVE JOHN CANDY HE COULD PULL OFF ANYTHING ..... oooh john candy

  • Weetabix, OK, eh!

  • Old joke: "Have you heard about the new gay sitcom? It's called 'Leave It, It's Beaver.'" Haha.

  • "Maybe thirty-five years in the slammer will teach the Beaver something." lol.

  • I remember my dad showing me this a few years back, and it's still just as funny! SCTV rocks! :)

  • i DON'T KNOW IT'S AGAINST THE LAW. CLASSIC SCTV SKIT.

  • Another CLASSIC SCTV skit!

  • Genius on so many levels.

  • June Cleaver sounds like Rocky the Squirrel

  • Classic... I loved it when they spoofed old family shows like this. Like when they did the East Side Kids (Bowery Boys) sketch, or even the "Merv Griffith Show," where it was a cross between Merv Griffin and Andy Griffith. He he. Love it. I agree with Bagelbutcher about the 2 types of people in the world. :)

  • @crazysingingchick i don't remember them doing the bowery boys. speaking of bowery boys,i have heard of them but never seen their shorts. i tried everywhere to find them and if anyone does have them, they are cheap transfers from VHS. I hope sometime soon, they'll release them on DVD for real. :(

  • @Paulgr Yeah I think the SCTV spoof is kind of rare - I can't find the exact sketch that I saw as a kid, but I did find one with Robin Williams where he portrays Slip Mahoney (who is apparently out of the closet) and Martin short as Satch (who else). The sketch I saw as a kid had (I believe) Dave Thomas as Slip and again, Martin Short as Satch. I know Short played Satch because I almost choked on my chocolate milk at what a perfect job he did impersonating Huntz Hall and his character. (more)

  • @crazysingingchick I just typed in SCTV Bowery Boys on youtube and that sketch came up. i guess i didn't know that was the one. i remember it now. i think when i saw it originally i did npt even know what or who they were. lol. now i know. I'd post the link but youtube don't like links in the threads, but tyoe "SCTV Bowery Boys" without quotation marks, and it'll come right up.

  • @Paulgr ... also, I agree with you on the poor quality of the DVDs. I have a couple of "East Side Kids" versions of the gang on DVD which are like VHS copies. One's a full movie, but kind of muffled sounding from what I remember. It's been a couple of years since I watched. The boys were wayyy before my time, but thanks to my dad's love of all that old classic stuff, I love it now too. Good luck finding a good quality copy - they were pretty funny kids. Like grown up Our Gang/Little Rascals. :)

  • @Paulgr -- Bowery Boys didn't do shorts. They did feature lehgth Grade-B comedy films.

  • @crazysingingchick even if i could find the complete shorts on youtube,i'd live with that. there are small clips on youtube but no complete stuff. Oh well. :(

  • LMAO!!! xD eddie:so thats the story wally i cant hide it anymore im gay and im proud of it wally: jee eddie you better stop commin around here anymore LOLZ ITS FUNNY CAUSE THAT IS THE WAY THEY ACT IN THE SHOW WHATS NOT FUNNY ABOUT THAT?

  • @TheParanormalpunk

jesus what a fucking giggling tard you are.

  • Third type: Those who thought that Saturday Night Live was funnier!

  • Third type: Those who thought Saturday Night Live was ever funnier than SCTV!

  • The sad part is that life would imitate art in the early 80's when 'Still The Beaver' would return to the air...

  • Quite possibly one of the greatest skits ever written! Classic!!

  • The mannerisms are quite accurate, especially John Candy and Dave Thomas.

  • This was the most stupid thing I've ever seen

  • @dhucke4assembly

There are 2 types of people in the world. People who understand and appreciate SCTV's humour, and those who are utterly stupid morons.

  • @Bagelbutcher Aaa-men!

  • @dhucke4assembly you have no sense of pop culture history and parody. it's okay. not everyone is blessed with the humor gene.

  • I have never seen Harold Ramis without his glasses! How cool is that. But he's quite tall to play the very diminuitive Whitey. (Guess that's why he's only seen sitting down.) Catherine as June = perfect 'helmet' hair!; Thomas an all-too accurate portrayal of Eddie (it's almost spooky). John Candy is great as The Beave. Notice the freckles. And he has Beaver's stupid smile down to a tee in the beginning. Perfect. So awful that he died -- way too soon. R.I.P. Mr. Candy!

    Cool upload, tks.

  • life stinks. so do you beaver lol

  • i hope this cures that bad case of the shakes.Gee , Eddie ,you better not come around here any more.,(I always knew you were speciaLLOL)Gee Wally, life sure does stink. But no big deal, because I know I stink too . Life sure makes more sense when life stinks and I stink too.

  • "Gee Wally, life stinks" "Yea, but so do you Beaver."

  • Whisky on your Weetabix. lol

  • "Thanks, Wally...". This is THE perfect 50s satire !!

  • Oh the memories!

  • It makes me both so sad and happy to see John Candy so young in this footage. He was a complete natural!!

  • I like how they used that same music cue over and over again.

  • Maybe my favorite line is when Ward says to the Beaver, "I thought you had died in Vietnam," referring to the old rumor that Jerry Mathers had died in Vietnam without actually mentioning it straight out.
