Although I admire everything he has done, President Ikeda should have resigned when he turned 75. Yet he will be reigning over this organization until death and it is suffering tremendously.

@Sactomojo Please consider this as sharing info-not an argument. First of all, Pres. Ikeda has never and does not "reign." If you admire what he has done then you should understand that. Will he be the SGI Pres. until his death? I hope so, no one deserves it more. However, he has already passed the baton to the Youth Division and since then he no longer attends meetings. You are entitled to your opinion however, SGI continues to grow with joyful shakubuku.

Mr. and Mrs. Williams are very dear friends of mine as I am sure they are to so many. The way Mr. Williams has been treated is an absolute tragedy! He may have been strict but the organization was so much happier. Thanks to one woman (I will not mention her name), due to her jealousy over losing an appointed position, she is the reason that Mr. Williams resigned. How big has SGI grown since? Very little here in the States. I believe that the energy left the day Mr. Williams stepped down.

@Sactomojo If Mr. Wms is a dear friend of yours then you would know the truth of what happened was of a personal nature. If not, ask him. I really liked GMW and he grew to know me thru the yrs. via Jr. Pioneers. I even named my son after him. GMW's time was crazy fun and challenging as it was meant to be. Times change The SGI continues to grow according to the time and condition of the 21st Century. GMW is enjoying his time with his grandchildren and I am happy for the time he led us.

@kehau96701 Not very personla, when Senior leader are even Slandering Mr. Williams at meetings. Even meetings with guests. They go too far. Mr. Williams should be a Gakkai Treasure, not demonized as he has been.

One of Evil Ikeda's halfway measures to scam & collect money from the members is to claim that he will leave all members' names on monumental stones or bury a time capsule containing your names. Where is the capsule buried when Shohondo was built in '72 now? He & Soka/SGI-USA still do the same fraud to the members to collect donations. Unfortunely, Mr. GMW didn't know he was used as a tool for Ikeda as a money machine. He used GMW's pure faith in EVIL way! NS is the same!

@ehofuenin First of all ask Nikken about the time capsule. You know there is no more Sho Hondo. I did have my name on a monument in Pupukea, HI. Did GMW ever say he was "used?" I doubt it. There were no fraud or evil in the collecting of donations, which by the way every Church organization is allowed to do. Who is supposed to pay for the electricity, etc. in the buildings that the MEMBERS use? It is not free.

Both the priests and the Ikeda-centric SGI cult have strayed from practicing true Nichiren Buddhism. The feuds between the narcissistic, ego driven cult leader President Ikeda and the angry, destructive priests, both living in the world of anger and anamality, have de-Shakabuku'd millions of people as a result of their feuding. In doing so, they have BOTH made major VERY REAL bad causes. Not to mention they have both enlisted their many followers to repeat and imitate those same bad causes!

Mr Williams stressed Shakabuku, and he warned that in relation to a country, to Shakabuku "before it's too late."

REAL Shakabuku is NOT promoting the fake version of Nichiren Buddhism that President Ikeda created, where Ikeda is the centerpiece of the religion. Nichiren Daishonin would NEVER have demanded that people donate money, so he could build monunents honoring himself.

REAL Shakabuku is encouraging prople to practice the REAL Nichiren Nuddhism---NOT the fake SGI Ikeda-ism, or the pries

@mksutra As you know, Nichiren Daishonin's practice, is our practice. Faith and the Law are two kinds of Kechimyaku, Faith Kechimyaku means amonst believers from Nichiren and person to person shakubuku to help other learn the practice. Anyone who claims they are the Master of Faith or Master of Law is using Buddhism to become famous or powerful and Nichiren rejected such behavior, as did the authors of the Lotus Sutra.

Law was already transmitted by Nichiren. It is passed down through time, through Kechimyaku of faith not by a lineage of Presidents or Priests claiming superioity and ultimate catholic authority.

Nichiren, created the Gohonzon, and taught the practice of the Daimoku as primary practice, from his OWN enlightenment. Never does he place himself up as the highest pedestal. The Gohonzon does depict a hierarchy, with the Law of Nam'u Myoho Renge Kyo in the center. The Daimoku is the Buddha Nature, and the Gohonzon was Nichiren's Mandala of his own life, as he depicted based on the Lotus Sutra-each function on the Gohonzon from Shakyamuni and Taho on down the last of the ten life-states.

There can be no hierarchy of Buddhas because all of them are equal, yet sects claim ownership of Nichiren's Buddhism, causing sectarian arguing and slander. Nichiren said he was not creating a new sect, yet the orientation in Nichiren Buddhism, has been based on Sects claiming they are correct and saying the other Nichiren Sects are wrong. Each claims certain dogma as superior and will quote the same Goshos to prove themselves right.

Nichiren called his Buddhism the Buddhism of Shakyamuni. He defers to Shakyamuni. The authors of the Lotus Sutra also gave the respectful position of "Eternal Buddha," in the story of the Lotus Sutra, to Shakyamuni. They too deferred to Shakyamuni and did not pass their own names down as the actual authors.

The Lotus Sutra was the Sutra that shows the Eternal Nature of the Buddha within everyone's life and the dream that all people can attain Buddhahood. It is a literary work written by people who woke up to their own Eternal Buddha identity. Some take it literally and do not recognize that it is a means to teach Buddha nature, Using a too literal approach such as thinking it came from historical Shakyamuni is short-sighted. Practice and Bodhisattva actions is the basis not, theory or lineages.

@mksutra President Ikeda never said he was our Master. He is a mentor to the SGI just as Pres.Toda mentored him and the Soka Gakkai. I believe he is a Master of Nichiren Buddhism in Society and he has accompolished what no one else has but, that was his mission. I agree with you that Nichiren Daishonin is our eternal Master of the Lotus Sutra of Nam myoho Renge Kyo in the time of Mappo. Peace out!
