Welcome to the world of ABBA! I warn you, it is very addictive - 8 studio albums to explore and much more too, and very few songs are substandard. No the group did not break up when the couples did, in fact it carried on for several more years. There was no official 'break up' announcement. It was more that their planned 9th studio album was abandoned in 1986 through lack of interest and the fact Björn & Benny had moved onto musicals, creating "Chess" with Tim Rice a couple of years earlier.

Frida and Benny were a "couple" in 1969, a full year before Frida was divorced from her first husband, the father of her two children!

They lived for 9 years unmarried until 1978, seperated in 3 years.

Benny's conscience haunted him. Seeing Frida's two children, knowing they were the offspring of the sacred marriage he helped destroy with adultery.

If you want to feel sorry for anyone, feel sorry for Frida's first husband & 2 children who she abandoned so she could shack up with Benny.

It amazes me that people still, to this day, feel they must judge these 2 people on something that happened over 25 yrs ago. Its none of our business what happened in their private lives. They shared their public lives as much as they could and gave some of the best pop music of all times. Theyve moved on, cant the rest of you move on and just enjoy what they gave us. I only hope that they are all happy with their lives now.
