  • CHECK OUT MY BEATS

  • Along with all the other great bands already mentioned, I hope you've gotten up on some THC, Telepopmusik, IAMX, The Funky Lowlives, maybe some Bush, definitely Lovage, Emilana Torrini, Laika, Bis, Blue Foundation, Dark Globe, and Thievery Corporation!

I only just got into Trip Hop after hearing the song How Long by Out Hud back in 2008, and I'm still finding great trip hop bands everyday!

  • The sexy bass and beats and heavenly female vocals make Trip Hop Music a mind trip. It puts me in a state of euphoria without any drugs except the music itself. Other favorite artists of mine are Esthero, Soma Sonic, Hooverphonic, Morcheeba, G-Spliff, and Soulstice.

  • good music

  • All I could think of was House.

  • whats trip hop???????????

  • @BIGG209 Swag.

  • Gary Wright - Dream Weaver

  • to rate trip hop songs is just as stupid as .... .... every song has it's unique feeling and every band has a unique style,it's just a matter of taste which one you will like better than the others

  • @damiqde6uq damn straight

  • Good list, but needs some Saltillo. If you never heard of him look up some of the songs like giving in and a hair on the head of John the baptist.

  • Great tracks, but why only one Portishead song? They pretty much invented the genre. Biscuit, All Mine, Sour Times?

Also a little Morcheeba would've been nice

  • @HelplessInOttawa mate, no offence, but check your facts. Massive Attack were and still are the grandaddies of trip-hop. They were around before Portishead.

  • @Matthewkilb Yeah you're absolutely right, Massive Attack predates them, but to me their old stuff doesn't really sound like Trip-Hop. Nothing really has that slow, sophisticated sound that makes you sneer and nod.

This is just my opinion and I'm not trying to start a fight, but a list without All Mine breaks my heart.

  • Thanks for this!

  • You should have done a TOP 1000, there are sooooo many good trip-hop songs and artists...

  • Tricky is a must and I'd love to see some Little Dragon as well.

  • Cosmogramma is the best trip hop album. If you can say it's Trip-Hop

  • Flying Lotus!??!

  • @akuu193 Pretentious nonsense. All texture, no structure.

  • UNKLE, Tricky, Phantogram (as of lately), Lovage, GusGus...there is more than enough missing here. I love Massive Attack, but why so many slots for one band. lol

  • @Electrotorturer because it wasn't very long ago after discovering trip hop music that i made this... now i know a lot more and plan to make another video.

  • @maiawashere lol why on earth did you make this if you'd only just discovered trip-hop? don't answer that. just sayin :P

  • @Electrotorturer because they basically invented the genre. They were doing this stuff waaaaay before any of the other bands you mentioned were.

  • portishead is the best.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • YOU GOTTA HAVE TRICKY!!!!! Maxinquaye is the best trip-hop album of all time! (Not his personal best, though. Just in the context of trip-hop. I think his best is pre-millennium tension, but it's not trip-hop... but maxinquaye is. so maxinquaye is the best trip-hop album of all time, haha)

  • @jaemoon2 yeah i know :) i actual;ly didnt know about tricky when i made this video... my fave song from him is overcome :) thnx

  • @jaemoon2 I tried really hard to like Pre-millennium tension, but I just couldn't get into it. Apart from Christian sands and She Makes Me Wanna Die, I think it all sounds a little too much like one man's weed-fuelled descent into psychosis. Which, as it turns out, and if you read about his state of mind at the time, turns out to be pretty close to the truth.

Maxinquaye sounded like a man using his demons to create something beautiful. Most of Pre-millennium tension just sounds like hell.

  • @Matthewkilb ...which is why I love it ;)

  • @jaemoon2 did tricky start trip hop?

  • NO TRICKY??!????!?

  • Nice selection! but don´t forget TRICKY

  • what about Controlling Crouds by Archive? nice list though :)

  • MA and PH RULEZ!

  • UAT DA FAC !!!!!!!! :))

  • Teardrop, intro song to House FTW

  • Love It :D

  • @SanggyTube thnx!

  • is frou frou trip hop?

  • @krazycore no - they aren't - but i felt like that song fit in to the mix :)

  • Good taste!)))
