Also, the Spanish taught in the United States is the Spanish most commonly used in Mexico. These are the reasons why the decorations tend to be Mexican and not Spanish.

@ThePrimeOracle Actually it's not only Mexico, I believe that in the US there are more people from South America than from Mexico. Actually everytime I go, there are more spanish speakers from colombia/venezuela/ other South America countries, than from Mexico, it's just common for people to say "oh they speak spanish, they are mexicans" but actually they should ask first, there are a lot of differences :)

I am also Spanish, but the fact is that apart from the reasons given by PrimeOracle, there are more than 100 million Mexicans v less than 45 million Spanish (a lot less than the official population figures, because we have several million immigrants). So it makes sense to have Mexican decorations for something Hispanic, like the language, in USA. I would be nevertheless with you if the same happened in Germany or China, where it would make sense to refer to the country of origin of the language.
