  • Most Wonderful Sounds My Sisters in Christ, Tear after Tear a Anointing forever !

  • Let us find safety in the Lord. In times of trouble, let us find comfort in Jesus. Blessed be his name! From one pilgrim to another, and brother in christ, thank you for posting this wonderful song. It's exactly what I needed to hear. Let us press on and not look back.

  • @M131669 amen friend

  • Great Message And LOVE The Strings

  • @bobbyr1954 - the video was posted in 2008. Maybe that's why? It wasn't available anywhere then.

  • Why do you say it can't be found or puchased anywhere, when it is not true. You can do it right on Nancy Honeytree's own Christian website. Just do a web search

  • Nancy Honeytree has a heart that sincerely Loves her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She has a tender gentle genuine heart that seeks to share the love and forgiveness she has experienced through Jesus.

  • heard this song once before. a long time ago. still touches our hearts.

  • Wrong on the note that it cannot be bought anywhere - it can be purchased by going to honeytree's website - 20th anniversary Pioneer cd.

  • There's something so PURE, pristine & vulnerable about artists, like Honey Tree, Keith green & Evie. I accepted Christ as my Lord & Savior back in 1983. Twin sisters introduced me to the PURE worship folk of Honeytree. & others. Things have greatly changed. I'm a worship leader for TWO pastors & Have to continually learn new worship standards. The new production does nothing for me as far true worship is concerned. These "surrendered" were not hindered that their work had to be polished.

  • @angels77100 Your comments are pretty shallow whether or not you are a hater. You have to remember these folks were motivated by the Spirit and on very limited budgets for promotion. Besides it was not all about IMAGE but about the message back then. Believe me I know I was there. Honeytree was always true to herself and I believe had one of the lovliest voices singing Christian music at the time.

  • Did it ever occur to you that the reason it can't be found or purchased anywhere is because it's nothing to write home about? And that girl on the cover isn't exactly helping sales. It's very discouraging if anything. (Not a hater, just trying to help you out). God bless.

  • I love this song so much <3 I listened to this at camp its amazing :)

  • What an amazing, wonderful song...as I listen I am reminded of the never ending journey each one of us are on who follow after our Lord into a place we have never been before. Only by His grace, and love can we go!

  • Just go to her website, search for honeytree you can order her music there

  • Fantastic song, great singing, saw a recent utube, love her...Great smile and a cool lady. I'm a 1969 Woodstock fellow, involved heavily with music, bands, (etc) all my life and the words of this song fit where I live..inside and out. Some things work for folks, but for a small number, we try it on, and say..nope not this, nor this, nor that, and then we find what does, and never again can there be anything else, nor is there anything we would trade it for. This song reaches us. Phoenix AZ

  • shes the reason i wish i was deaf and blind

  • What a songwriter! What a song!

  • This is my friends mom. She is a good singer, just not my style lol.

  • @tcollier34

i like the way you think buddy!

  • I use to write a friend at Adam's Apple Coffee House in Fort Wayne, she turned out to be Honeytree's secretary. At my invitation Honeytree came into to my house at the time, the U. S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, Mo. (Sara Groves home town). Praise God...

  • Why the 1975 album cover to this 90s classic from Honeytree? She looks much better now than then, but she was always beautiful on the inside

  • Why the 1975 album cover to this 90s classic from Honeytree? She looks much better now than then, but she was always beautiful on the inside

  • @EricJamesHanson ?What do you mean "beautiful on the inside" You trying to say she was not pretty? Look at her, man she was as pretty as any girl you might have thought was "hot" back in 1978. My sister had that album "evergreen" and I would take it out of her room and she would come to mine and get it. Never say someone is pretty on the inside, that's an insult!!

  • Nancy is still in the work of the Lord, she has a website as do many of the old time Jesus music people. do a search for your favorites, lots show up. Nancy Honeytree was one of my favorites and she still sings just not as often/

  • I love this song so much...thanks for posting!!! :)

  • I've been singing one of her songs, Fr Lift Me Up, for over 30 years now. People love it. It's timeless. I forgot how beautiful her voice was. Thanks for the post.

  • What a beautiful voice. I heard her in the 70's. I forgot how beautiful her music was. Thanks for posting.

  • My husband and I had the opportunity to meet Nancy Honeytree before a concert she did at the Lamb's Club in NYC in 1978 and had dinner with her. She was a genuinely nice person who had and still has a true commitment to the Lord. BTW, I have a copy of the First Love video and CD and it's a gem...

  • Rick Pino recently recorded this, very anointed! It's on his album The Narrow Road. rickpino dot com

  • nice glasses john lennon

  • THANK YOU for posting this. Never heard this studio version before. I believe this song to be one of the most moving odes to faith, trust and risk and it has often brought me to tears. Thank you for sharing this

  • Yes... Its Called FIRST LOVE... i love that DVD. this song is my favorite though!! Terry Clark is amazing as well!

  • Here is the official website for this DVD, but you can find it less expensive at other outlets. I have this and it is highly recommended. Barry, 2nc Chapter, Talbot, Lovesong, Randy Matthews, etc. are all in one place singing the music that so cut through out culture.

    explorationfilms..com

  • Honeytree- boy if we could fine her singing "Diamond in the Rough" now that would be something......

  • Buy the CD/DVD set entitled First Love - it is the gathering of some of the older Jesus Music people. Nancy sings this for them - one of many moving parts of a wonderful concert. Others include Barry McGuire, 2nd Chapter of Acts, Terry Clark, Darrell Mansfield and Andre Crouch. Excellent double CD and DVD!

  • All of the Jesus Movement songs are a treasure to me. They remind of a special time when I first became a Christian and also remind me of how timeless the spirit of God works. God reminds me that a thousand days is but a moment to him, and his spirit still moves through these songs.

  • God bless you Nancy Honeytree, and God bless all of you pioneers of the Jesus Movement! What a beautiful song!

May we have one more great "Jesus Movement" before He returns!!!

  • lovely voice !

  • Could you please upload "Diamond In the Rough" please. Thank you so much.

  • How did you get this a copy of this recording? I really want a copy of it.

  • i have found another copy, but i can tell she is younger in this one, and i love the younger quality of her voice. this track is MUCH better musically.

  • I just posted a version of this song which has guitar accompaniment which I've always liked better than the violins. Search "Pioneer by Nancy Honeytree" for it.

  • About 6 years ago I was in the basement of a local music store, and came across this very album still wrapped in the original plastic unopened!!!! I snatched it up for only 25 cents !!!!! What a treasure she is I had the pleasure of meeting her in Des Moines,IA. many years ago after a concert put on by The New Life Center.

  • My younger brother loved HoneyTree...I have just "re-discovered" her talents !!! thank you !!!

  • For anyone looking for Nancy's music on CD, you can google her name and get them off her website. Also, the Pioneer song is on the "First Love" CD/DVD set available through a variety of ministries and Amazon.

  • Pioneer is my all-time favorite song that came out of the Jesus Movement. I have always related to the message. Honeytree, you are a humble servant of the Lord.

  • You can buy a CD with this on Nancy's website. Pioneer 20th Anniversary Recording.

  • You can buy a CD with this on Nancy's website. Pioneer 20th Anniversary Recording.

  • Nancy Honeytree was indeed a pioneer in Christian music and I'm glad she's still ministering in song. Her music was so beautifully unique and timeless. Thank you very much for posting this song!

  • This sounds like the original album. I loved this one...

  • Music from such an innocent time...

  • Nancy, 2nd Chapter, and others are still signing strong for Jesus. It's sad that their music is not more widely played as it was in the Jesus Movement. They have a depth and maturity in the Lord that is still fresh and refreshing! Maranatha!

  • I wish I can Just have this song on my iPod.It's been such a Blessing to Me..and to hear it everyday has been very healing

  • Memories!!!! What a voice.

  • Its so Wonderful1 Thank you so much! Life is a vapor!

  • beautiful rare track by nancy Honeytree

  • i saw her live on the East Coast. She's real. just guitar.

  • Never heard this song and it touches my soul! God Bless you!! I was in the Jesus movement on the east coast in the 1970's and how wonderful to hear real music to the Lord..Thank you, is this on itunes?

  • Nancy was and IS a beautiful spirit..such sweet, natural talent for the Lord. A voice as sweet and pure as honey.

I wonder what she's doing these days.

  • Comment removed

  • I have the CD this is from. The album cd is called pioneer. There are several copies, new and used available on Amazon.com

  • I am weeping from the memories of this. I miss my friends from the Jesus Movement.

  • @lordairgtar I understand

  • Found Honeytree on iTunes.

  • @shiphranita Should note, I found Honeytree, but did not find this song.

  • @shiphranita

I found her too, but I didn't see the song that I wanted: "As The Deer"

  • Very beautiful!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH !

  • I had one of this chicks records when i was a kid....I had forgotten about her.....takes me back

  • Made me cry. I'm not alone!

  • Thank you. This song I have on a good video. *FIRST LOVE* with all other christians Singers and musicars. This song give me straingt and courage. Thank you to the HONEYTHREE, that you are always gone the way of God.

  • This song CAN be found and purchased. She sang it live on the "First Love" CD and Video. Both are still available for purchase. :)

  • @stonemarie

Thanks for posting correct info. I wondered how such a great song just couldn't be found, as this guy claims. I listen to it over and over, not hearing of it before.

I ran across this looking for 'Rattle Me, Shake Me'.

I have a young lady niece who said that she naturally smiles all the time, and some folk want to know 'what's up with that?'. I said, 'O, I know a Honeytree song about that...from way back when...I too hail from the Jesus People Movement in Canada....

    40 yr. later!

  • We saw Honeytree live in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1976 at the Showboat Hotel and Casino.(now extinct). The concert had maybe 100 people in attendence. The spirit moved the us all that night.

  • Wish I had known I got saved while living in Las Vegas in 1973, I was in the Air Force. I think I was still there then? Long time ago. Does the AOG on Lamb still exist?

  • If it does it has been relocated. We attended that church a couple of times, I knew the Pastors family back then. I think it was Childers, We used to Rev. Bill Sharp's church. It was in the Showboat, the Stardust, the Old Cinedome on Paradise, Circus, Circus. I attended the Old Maranatha House. Man that was a lifetime ago. Witnessed alot of miracles then, and still. Though my path has wavered the power of the Lord is almighty, and even a slacker like me can witness his miracles every day.

  • WOW you really knew the Childer's. What a small world. After that church sorta fell apart about 1976 we started going to Bob Devilbiss' Services, remember him he was the bible answer man on KILA? Well thanks for responding and re-kindling great old memories. Do you still live in Vegas?

  • The Bible Answer Man,,,thr best radio program ever. And his voice saying K I L A. . I t was very unfortunate when He passed away in a car crash out near Lake Mead. He was the best. Still here, raised three Children. If you haven't been here since 75 or 76 you won't recognize the place. I have been here 54 years and never run into someone I know. I have been in the same house for 33 years. Nice sharing, Praising the Lord

  • Bob really had a way. It was funny the way he diffussed arguments. Well I am in France now will be back home to L.A. area soon. Well God Bless my brother/sister? Thanks for taking the time to share

  • My pleasure, I shared this with my wife and we both got a kick out of it. The world is not to be judged by any single event. How many interactions had to take place for this short mutual sharing to take place? God is in everything.

  • I have begun collecting vinyl again and came across this album...what a blessing for me to here the music again from the time when it all began to change for me ...The time of the "Jesus freaks" ...The music was honest and fresh. great to hear.

  • Just saw her at a two day retreat and you can get this song on one of her albums. It's wonderful. She also sings it live on the documentary film "First Love" about the start of Jesus' music.

  • I still have her album/cassette "Still Single" from the 70's-80's. I loved her Undivided Devotion song. She's a beautiful soul still...God bless her!

  • How beautiful !!

  • Nancy is still goin' strong. Just google her and you'll find her website and will be able to purchase all of her songs, as well as her teaching dvd's. She's really into missions these days.

  • honeytree. org

  • test

  • I don't know much about honeytree but she seems to be a true minister to the ministers! :) God bless

  • I love you still Nancy! You are in the soundtrack of my life! No other voice like yours!

  • I feel like this artist, who was herself a Pioneer, kind of got lost in the shuffle of the "bigger" acts (like 2nd Chapter), but she was always my favorite. I thought they'd be making music all our lives and release music forever. Didn't realize their careers would fade like regular rock and rollers. Brings back great memories of her. How I wish this music was on C.D.

  • @keithcop i got this song on CD, its called..Pioneer 20th Annivarsary recording and its dated 1993. I also have a couple of her vinyl LPs i made into mp3. I do to used CD and record shops and find some rare gems.

  • keithcop,

    go to honeytree org

Second CD has this song on it. 20 year anniversary. Enjoy.

  • @keithcop Its so true, I miss those days ..But you know the Lord still is the same... Thank God for that... God Bless You

  • @keithcop You may have already discovered Nancy's website. She has a some albums on CD. Also, you can get this song on the "First Love" CD/DVD set available through Amazon and other ministries.

  • @keithcop You may have already discovered Nancy's website. She has a some albums on CD. Also, you can get this song on the "First Love" CD/DVD set available through Amazon and other ministries.

  • @keithcop Check out a dvd called First Love. You will really enjoy it. She's the last singer on the vid and let me tell you.....it was powerful. I hope you love it as I did. God Bless

  • You can get CD set, 'FIRST LOVE' ... (a historic gathering of Christian music pioneers) ... it was the gathering of many of the people we worked with when we first got married and started the annual outdoor Christian music festival in England ... Greenbelt ... I cried all the way through it the first time I watched it ... so many of them 'came to life' when they got to England and had the 'space' to keep growing. (Mary H.)

  • I love the song "Pioneer". Does anyone know the guitar chords for this song?

  • Yes, I know them. It's really very simple. Don't try to follow her chords. It's in C with a few A minors, F's and G's thrown in about the place...I could e-mail them to you if you want them?

  • Yes

  • This is an amazing and haunting beautiful song, and there must be someplace that you can find sheet music and recordings of it, because the first time I ever heard it was in church years ago. It has to exist somewhere. I just love it.

  • dope.

  • I have four of Honeytree's LP reocrds. They are some of my favorite Christian music. I need to tget my turntable working so I can start listening again. She has such a beautiful, calming voice. I just love her!

  • This makes me cry...

  • Beautiful...Favorited :)

  • Thanks my friend for sharing this, its beautiful :)

    God bless you.

  • Terry, this is so beautiful... thank you for sharing it with me. OMgosh.... it made me cry.... not only for the lyrics, but that my brother must see something in me, that inspired him, to send THIS song, of all songs, to ME! I am a blessed Princess!!

I DO see myself as a pioneer, in so many ways...and a lone wolf, at times. Your showing up, shows there are strong men willing to stand beside us gals, in the battle of & for our LORD.

May He bless you abundantly, for caring & showing it. ~conzi

  • Lovely song. But I am searching for a copy of a song of Honeytree which was based on Job:

Naked came I from the womb,

Naked shall I return, whence I came,

    whence I came.

The Lord it is who gives

    and the Lord takes away.

Blessed be the name of the Lord.

Would so love to get a copy of it. Had the album from which it came in the 70s.

    Any hints!

    Stephen

  • I believe this is on a compilation FIRST LOVE of a bunch of early Jesus People like McGuire, Fisher and those guys....LOVE IT

  • Yes, I saw a documentary where all of those people reunitited. It was so beautiful, I have to get a copy of it on DVD, which is available.

  • My Wife and I attended a concert by Honeytree in 1975 at the Showboat Hotel in Las Vegas. Not in a showroom, but in a conference or convention room. About 200 attendees in folding chairs. She literally slew the whole room, or, the spirit did, with a few exceptions. Me being one of the exceptions, hence the eyewitness testimony. Praise the lord for such real music, Praise the Holy Spirit for.......

  • wow!! I had an older friend who was into Honeytree....so cool to come across this!! thanks for posting :))

  • I'd forgotten all about her, but someone sent this to me, and I've listened I bet at least 20 times since yesterday. We're all pioneers trying to be faithful to follow where God leads. This is just beautiful.

  • lovely! Thanks for posting

  • i've loved this song for so long - it just does not get old!

  • Wow. I remember Nancy from the early 70's. I was a newly minted Christian, and her music meant a lot to me. God bless her!

  • Huh. I too was a newbie in early 70's and remember sitting next to her at a concert in Sacramento. She is a sweetie for sure.

  • Nancy has a website where you can find out what she's been doing and purchase music. She's such an awesome lady!!!

  • test

  • Her real name was Nancy Henningbaum but that was too hard to remember so she used Honeytree

  • Does anybody know where I can get an album from a christian group called The Way? It was about early 80's or late 70's

  • Both The Way's 1st & 2nd albums were put on one CD about 5+ years ago for a Jesus People Reunion concert. Try googling the members in the group...they have them!!!

  • beautiful song love it x

  • The beautiful voice of Honeytree got me through some very, very tough times back in the 80's. God bless her.

  • Ahh, a beautiful voice from my early days as a Christian! Thank you for the walk down Memory Lane!

  • geoasher023,

Gosh, Nancy Honeytree has such a clear, classic, tonally pure voice. A real blessing! And yes, I was listening to her decades ago when I was beset by doubt and depression, and she gave me a few moments of solace and hope. If you have other music of hers, would you share with us, please? Thank you,

    bboucharde

  • Also there was an Album named Honeytree about 30 or 35 years ago with the best songs ever listen. Where could I can reach it?

  • Does this singer has a song named resist the devil?

  • Yes.

  • yes you can get it at her website.

  • Lovely!

  • I have the cassette with this. I have been waiting for a long time to see more Honeytree on CD (Maranatha Marathon, for instance), cause it's music from my Christian teen years. Thanks so much for uploading this.

  • Everytine I listent to this I cry. It is so very moving: "but we can't stay here".

    Beautiful lyrics sung beautifully.

I saw her a few months back on TBN and could not get this song out of my mind. Lo and behold, it was here and I have been listening to it regularly and sending it to people ever since.

She sure looked gorgeous, and surely she must be 60 now? The love of Christ and living in His service definitely keeps us young!

  • tomanderson92 Believe it or not I was going through a stack of old albums where I used to give guitar lessons. And low and behold I found the Evergreen album still in the original plastic. My boss sold it for next to nothing. I have often wondered how much it is worth.

  • shaba

  • Honeytree was at the infancy of what's now Contemporary Christian music, an evangelical Joni Mitchell, whose music had substance and was nurturing. She's still recording. I was blessed to hear her in concert once, long ago. My favorite songs of hers are "Father Lift Me Up", "I See the Lord, High and Lifted Up" and "Clean Before My Lord"

  • I'd never heard of this lady before, but I'll have to look up some info on her now. Nice voice. Pretty song.

  • Not true, this can be purchased at Nancy Honeytree's website on a few different cds.

  • nice song but great violence will continue in Israel. It will not stop. violence on violence. its not going to stop. the hatred the violence the taking will continue. its wrong. the so-called "palestinians" get a worse deal than any 19th c. american indian. violence on violence. peace through perpetual war the cult of the circumcision is the inheratance ritual without meaning. hagar is gone but slaughter each other for your cheated promis gone. never forget-give. take.

  • Why do you bring up Israel? If ya wanna talk about Israel, I will say this much: obviously you are not Christian, because Christians are to pray for the peace of Israel. We know this will only come about when our Lord returns.

Anyone who has no love for Israel is not Christian. That said, I will certainly be praying for you.

  • does Christian support for Israel include supporting building a temple and the ritual sacrifice of a red heifer? Polygamy is legal in Israel. is that Christian. Christians can not minister in Israel. are we, a nation where you cant even display a manger at christmass time because of separation of church and state,to support the est' of a religous nation. And the Palestinians are nuts but they are grossly mistreated. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, but not Jewish peace. Christian

  • There are churches all over Israel, but i am aware that the moral tone overall in Israel is not good. It is not good because they don't have the Lord, which is why we as Christians should pray for the peace of Israel.

Jesus Christ IS the peace of Israel, but only a remnant in the last days are going to know Him.

Btw: I come from a family of Jewish artists and atheists who have disowned me for my beliefs. There are some Jews who do accept Christ as Messiah.

  • I agree, Jesus Christ is the only peace for Israel. And what I typed is true. the odds of Israel accepting Christ is nill. between the temple for the red heifer and legalized polygamy, I must surmise this is back sliding heifers times. The place is in big trouble. also, I have Soloman Carvalho, 1853. He traveled w/ JC Fremont. He spent a little time in Utah. Interesting story...

  • According to bible prophecy, two thirds of Israel will be destroyed in the last days, but one third (the remnant) will be saved. Israel in its present state is no different than the U.S. and Europe, i.e. filled with pornography, drugs, apostacy and every manner of moral decay.

    Israel needs our prayers!

  • it will probably be 3/3rds. that would level the playing field and make everything really clear....read your page. you have made difficult choices... Carvalho was a Jewish artist, family is interesting.

  • perhaps i erred, maybe this wasnt the video/song to address the issue of concern.....

  • I think you're right.

I would be happy to talk to you about it privately, though, if you like.

  • Does anyone have, and can post, her folksy "Mary Was a Waitress at the Broadmore"?

  • anyone have I am a Servant by Nancy Honetree? Where did she go anyway?

  • haven't spoken to nancy in several years. she was living in indiana near fort wayne but was making missions trips to mexico and was launching a ministry (it had "nets" in the name). she, her son, and her husband were well, and when last we saw her, she sang at our church.

  • Actually she is quite active in ministry and I email with her occasionally. she is very accessible that way. I loved that song too, used to listen to it and pray it over and over. It was so cool to connect with her. I've been an intercessor for her a few times now on mission trips.

  • Really? How would one go about contacting her? I would love to tell her personally about what her music has meant to me. She is such a beautiful soul! Please contact me about this jlighari.

  • Great song! Honeytree is truly a gifted and blessed musician! Thanks so much for posting this song! Blessings to Nancy Henigbaum!

  • nice voice

  • In listening again, few songs, in their soothing, softening, soulful glory, while gently flowing, are so touching that they seem almost as if to complete one's life: simply experiencing all that is so beautiful, simply to love, eternally then, as the Pioneer in all that becomes this in you, eternally now.

  • Bello! Beautiful!

  • Awesome!!! Breathtaking!!! Beyond words, just let the heart weep.

  • God Bless Nancy Henigbaum for singing it!

(Which - in case some don't know, is what Honeytree means.)

Bless all the brethren here as well, and geoasher023 for posting it!

  • This voice is like an angel. I wept deeply as I listened. She is prophecying in song.

  • I was sleeping with TBN on in the background. I woke up to this song, and wept like a child. Such a beautiful, touching song. I have spent a couple of hours looking for this: and it was right here under my nose!

This is my favourite song now, and this woman has blessed me with her angelic voice and precious song.

Thank you and God bless you for posting this.

  • Thanks for posting! Honeytree does this song live in an intimate setting of "pioneers" on the VHS/DVD set called "First Love--The Music of Contemporary Christian Music Pioneers." The set also has a CD version with the same title. This historic recording also has a song from Keith Green that never made it to an album, "Born Again." Melody Green offered a demo Keith made of it and played home movie footage over the track. Fabulous! We miss you, Keith.

  • I have cried with great emotion hearing this song. Thanks Nancy

  • Fantastic!! Please post more Honeytree! Also I can't find anything on youtube by "Fireworks". I'd love to see some of thier old stuff.

  • You might want to check out the DVD: "First Love: A Historic Gathering of Jesus Music Pioneers". Nancy does "Pioneer" & "Clean Before My Lord". So amazing!

Thanks for posting this song. It's one of my favorites!

    :)

  • Any pioneer's out there getting this emailed to you? ... or anyone emailing this to a pioneer that they know as a means of encouragement?

  • You know, I have sent it to all of my believing and some of my nonbelieving friends as well, Dave.

    Everyone loves it!

    (How could they not?)

  • Thank you, silmalila for posting this beautiful song, having meaning beyond the poetry of words!

  • geoasher023 posted it, bless their heart.

I merely sent it, which I take you enjoyed?

    It is wonderful, isn't it?

  • i really wish someone could find her song "I Am Your Servant" or I Am a Servant"..if so pleaseeeeeeeeeee put it up, it's such a beautiful inspirational song..thank u

  • That's a Larry Norman song.

  • how significant!

  • AMAZING!
