The fact that our music was the MOST popular music in all the main stream media from 81-91 was great and everything, But when that time had passed we barely lost any actual popularity. When real music fans dont get offered real music on radio, they go find it, buy it, go to concerts and support it. Nothings changed, the metal family is alive and kickin, and strong as ever! thumbs up if you agree!

@romanianguitar He is entitled to His opinion. As a Guitar Player for 30 years I don;t find anything special about Hammets skills. He is a great player, but there are much better out there. I can see the argument here between Plant and Coverdale sounding the same, but let's be clear: they are still totally different. Style and sound are two different things.
Besides, this is border line heavy metal. This was when Whitesnake was trying to compete in that 1980s heavy metal market that was dominating the scene. In most ways, Coverdale was just keeping up with the times and not trying to emulate Plant or classic rock at all!

I see what you're saying about Dave's voice. He can still do the stuff that's in his higher range pretty well, but when it comes to lower stuff like the intro to slow and easy, he is not what he used to be. His midrange has lost some strength. His guitarists make up for it though. Reb Beach and Doug Aldrich are two of the best guitarists out there. Especially Doug. He's awesome.

I agree. I love every band that is capable to remain loyal to what they really are instead of "evolving" in order to stay cool for MTV no matter they stab in the back their real fans. Probably better than this, yes! I'm classically trained to Grade 7, so a lot higher standard than this lot! I like Coverdale of old but these days he's surrounding himself with a bunch of posers and the music has no soul. Seriously, if you listen to this and think it's good or original, you need to get a musical education. It's heavy rock by numbers.
He still has balls size of a Texas and a heart of a lion...and that's what makes whole difference. Combine those elements with great energy he is transmitting plus idea of the rock n roll....then you will understand you just can not do better than this....

I've read through all the comments and I've noticed how no one has noted how unfortunate it is that this was not a hit single in the US. I really think it could be if they released it here.
David Coverdale has always had a similar voice to Robert Plant but Coverdale has more power IMO. Listen to some of his earlier stuff with Deep Purple such as Burn or Mistreated. Both are great singers but I like Coverdale better.
Dave Cloverdale is like a technically better clone of Robert Plant that is in more modern music. He's technically better, but he's still a clone. I consider Robert Plant to be better because he was the first guy to sing like he did. And he was good with deep purple, but Glenn Huges kicked Dave's ass.
This guy kicks ass!!! I was listining to there latest album bad to be good and man when i heard song "call on me" i was dam my jaw just dropped cause thats how mind blowing that song was man it was like Amazing!
Doug & Reb team up perfectly...It's the first time in many many yaears that Whitesnacke looked & sounded like a band...Don't get me wrong I always liked their music but I felt it was David and the others-
I'm beginning to consider him a tad bit better than Slash as well. Usually, when guitarists are as technically good as Doug, they play weird theoretical bullshit that can only be appreciated by musicians. Doug has stuck to bad assness, as you can see. He's combined really rock n' roll kinda pentatonic stuff and soul with perfect, laid back, bad ass technique and the result is what we see: pure, unadulterated, rock n' roll awesomeness.

I consider Robert Plant to be better because he was the first guy to sing like he did. And he was good with deep purple, but Glenn Huges kicked Dave's ass.

Doug & Reb team up perfectly...It's the first time in many many yaears that Whitesnacke looked & sounded like a band...Don't get me wrong I always liked their music but I felt it was David and the others-

It's raw , ( it's got a good solo , kinda "pre zack wylde" ) , I felt the vocals were a little too much on the trebble side but tolerable.
This trac just doesn't do the trick for me, it seems to lack deeper thought processes.

I'm beginning to consider him a tad bit better than Slash as well. Usually, when guitarists are as technically good as Doug, they play weird theoretical bullshit that can only be appreciated by musicians. Doug has stuck to bad assness, as you can see. He's combined really rock n' roll kinda pentatonic stuff and soul with perfect, laid back, bad ass technique and the result is what we see: pure, unadulterated, rock n' roll awesomeness.
