This was phenomenal to experience in 76 @ the San Diego Sports Arena on the floor in the middle of the 7th row (the Lasers, fog, and explosions blew me away, totally unexpected!)
i wish paul mccartney and denny laine could just make up he only said he wasnt clever 4 taking those drugs in japan and he wasnt and paul hates him 4 that come just 4give and have a reunion tour it wil b nice
Linda is just fooling around, almost during the whole show (just like in the89/90 and 93 tours), cause the parts played by Laine on the keyboards are the real ones, with real notes.
Linda: pure obstruction, I don't know why Paul insisted including her into his tours.
Every song from these tours has been bested since the 90's tours to this very day, and Live and Let Die has reaches its best in this Up and Coming Tour.
@Thebestbuddy1986 I don't know about every tour, but since "Back In The US" he has maintained the same, if not more, level of energy. Maybe it's the younger band. IDK. And isn't that the goal of any performer? To get better and better? Paul shows that age has nothing to do with it!
@kincaide67 You're right, but you know what, in fact this is the oldest band, counting the Beatles, Wings and the 89-93 band: the Beatles where under 30, Wings under 40, the 89-93 band, under 45, but this guys are over 50 except for Laboriel. So yeah, this fact prove your point: age has nothing to do with talent, and shall I add good health and desire to perform live.
Summer 1990, saw him in NY on his US tour. My date was from E. Europe & didn't know what was about to happen at the intro of this song. I just grinned and asked "Are your ready?" She hadn't the foggiest of what I was talking about. The crashing boom and pyrotechnics at the Meadowlands were incredible...and scared the living daylights out of the poor girl. I could not catch my breath for laughing.
Wings was awesome...I still remember..even though i was just a kid in the 70s...but my old man had nightclubs..and this song was one that the bands that played covered fairly often. Nothing like the original though.
@tikmol I hope he doesn't "as a fitting finale to a hugely successful career" because I don't want his hugely successful career to come to an end. I do, however, want him to release the whole concert on DVD :)
paul en uno de sus mejores momentos, wings era una banda muy buena , con mucha fuerza en el escenario, se lo notaba muy feliz en esa epoca, GRANDE PAULIE !!
My friends step-brother took us to this show in Seattle! It was one of my first concerts. The same friend and I also saw McCartney in the Kingdome in 1990 as well. When he was last in Seattle at the Key Arena it sold out before I had a chance for tickets. :(
Great songs from an unbelievable concert. Paul and Wings were at their best here, with McCartney in superior vocal form. Wish this were available as a whole show again on DVD.
Just a little footnote: when I saw McCartney do "Live and Let Die" in 2002 in Canada, the biggest bang at the end mistimed and McCartney leaped under the piano--scared that it was a real explosion--he eventually came out with his hand on his heart and was laughing his head off in a minute or so---but actually scared for a minute there...
I saw him do this at Giants Stadium, summer 1990...and knew about the cool light show and explosions that were about to happen.
I remember smiling and asking my date "Are you ready?" just as the song was starting...her reaction - not having a clue of what I meant - when a stadium of 90,000 people went "KA-BOOM!" was freaking priceless!
