When I see Plant I think of Led Zeppelin and 'Good Times, Bad Times' I just can't believe how talented he is still going strong. They ruled the world when they were younger, I am glad Plant is still singing.
Incredible song, first and foremost and wonderful tribute. I have always know somethng happened, however, this is relesase. My own 20-year-old younger sister diappeared from Phoenix AZ on July 13 , 1986, never to be hear of again. We met once brriefly at Atlantic Records. I've always wanted to start a foundation for missing children. Perhaps you may be interested in involvement? Take Care.. Denise Beauriful song, lyrics, vido. Thank you.!
'I Believe' this is a moving song just like 'all of my love' which was the first track Plant wrote for his son-obviously you carry 'something' like this with you till the day you die as corny as that sounds but 'I Believe' that it's true.
Well even a golden god has gone through hard times...Years ago he was the front-man of a legendary band, lost his son but still continues and this song still shows the wound in his heart! Rock N Roll Percy!
Page has contributed nothing of substance since 1976...thats 35 yrs...35 long f***** yrs my friends..i respect Jimmys work from 70-76..but i gotta be honest...i doubt he could write anything...he hasnt composed anything remotely decent since Achilles.
Robert has come a long way. With all that has been in his life, he continues to work. Codo's to him, he never had to, but I am glad he dose. Zeppelin I believe in his mind is still Great, I believe he just wants freedom is all. With that, he presuses greater intrest if thats possible I believe. Zeppelin will always be in his heart and soul, we should thank him for a glimps in, every once in a while for us. ) I know I'm greatful.

The symbolism throughout the video is moving and more than makes up for any weakness in his voice. Robert Plant is THE best of the best. Beautiful, brilliant, and dare I say it again, brilliant
@TacomaPaul Thanks so much for your quick answer. Do you know whether there's any hidden significance as to why Plant chose to include those lines? The last one seems to imply there was some sort of water-borne sendoff or ceremony. A lovely tribute to be sure.
Robert Plant was invited by Page, but Plant was the big head of Led Zep, because, Jimmy is shy, John Paul is shy, John was shy and Robert took them to another level.
long live...Led Zeppelin. Forget plants selfish solo career, he fucked over Jimmy and John Paul Jones who wanted to revive Led Zeppelin on so many occasions and if anything has marred Jason Bonham's career, think of how his career would have been in Led Zeppelin hes Bonzos son for christs sake! and furthermore hes proud of it. Plant used to be cool...until 1981 :(
When Bonham died in late '80 it was a mutual consent between the remaining band members That they could no longer be Led Zeppelin as it were. Their bond as friends to this day remains strong
Page and Plant toured successfully during the '90's. We all wish that they were together Plant is as good in '81 as he is today . . .sad that you miss it altogether
@PacificVanillaStorm i do agree with most of what you said but what you and alot of other ppl seem to over look is that JPJ and jimmy page wanted to get back together and revive Zeppelin on so many occasions over the years but plant always refused, he wanted to be in control of the band in the 70's and now in effect he is and he loves it, he refued to sing Stairway he refused to sing the immagrant song in the o2 reunion.
@rasenshuriken198 I disagree wiz u , he refuses to sing stairway to heaven for his own reasons not bcuz they wanna do it and he just wants to be in control so he says no, immigrant song needs to be sung on high pitch note , I dunno if he can do that any more , he thinks of Zep as his legacy, and he doesn't wanna ruin it ,as I recall he said he doesn't want them to sound like a punch of old hippies touring the country & following the stones , so trust me I dun think it's a control issue
@Immortality0Zep well man what it all boils down to is dissapointed fans in the end, i dont think of them as "old hippies" nor will any other zeppelin fan robert plant is thinking too hard about the state of the music industry today and less about the fans of his legacy altho technically its jimmy pages, they did a great job at the o2 concert and it was respectfully done too i think bonzo would have been proud especially of jason.
@rasenshuriken198 I know it's disappointing 4 us and u might be right , he thinks 2 much about it, but Zep is not jimmy's legacy it's their legacy (Plant,Page,Bonzo & JPJ) when I said he thinks of zep as his legacy I didn't mean it's his own work I meant that he is very proud of their music and wt they did .Zep wouldn't be a big name if it weren't for the four of them I can't imagine Zep without Plant or Page.
@rasenshuriken198 OK, I will tell u sth , check dazed and confused with The Yardbirds and dazed and confused with Led Zepplein, and tell me if u still think Page made Plant what he is now .
@Immortality0Zep i know everything about led zeppelin and i still admire page even if some of there songs are "uncredited covers". especially on led zeppelin I besides artists didnt have a lot to go on at that time.
@rasenshuriken198 I think the reason why Plant hasn't been eager to do reunion shows is not so much that he wants to be in control of the band, but because (1) he realizes that his voice has changed; and (2) he wants to preserve the legacy of the band. Also, at this point, he's had a longer career as a solo artist than he had with Zeppelin. Those old Zeppelin songs might not be as meaningful to him as they used to be.
When Bonham died in late '80 it was a mutual consent between the remaining band members That they could no longer be Led Zeppelin as it were. Their bond as friends to this day remains strong
Page and Plant toured successfully during the '90's. We all wish that they were together Plant is as good in '81 as he is today . . .sad that you miss it altogether, your clueless
@rasenshuriken198 ...actually your wrong.Plant grew up after 1980 and left that hack Page to be exposed for what he was..a fraud.Plant has sold millions of solo albums.Y?..cos hes quite talented and the first 2 solo albums especially are great albums.on the othr hand wtf has Page done of any substance since Achilles Last Stand way back in 1976..i'll tell u what hes done...F***All.hes done nothin in 30 yrs..In thru the out doors guitaring is average and Coda is outtakes dating from 70-78.
@TheMicturation and your forgetting the firm, it might get loud,no quarter and the page and coverdale album hes done plenty you probably couldnt be bothered to look for it.
@rasenshuriken198 ..i rest my case..course ive heard of The Firm...giv me one song of note from that experiment...ditto with wanna be Plant frontman Coverdale?..i was around 19 at the time of these bands so i remember them well but not so well the material...It might get Loud is not new music...anotha eg of Page dwelling in the very distant past...the question is were u around when Robert was selling millions of solo records 82-88 and Jimmy wasnt?...
@TheMicturation ok page wasnt selling millions of records in the 80s but hes a guitarist its easier for a singer to start a solo career especially with all the attention he got from Led Zeppelin which Jimmy Page put together might i add like it or not Jimmy Page made Robert Plant who he is today if it werent for him he would still be singing in hobstweedle in the black country still.
@rasenshuriken198 ..yeah point taken..maybe i been too harsh on jimmy..i have stated else where that i do respect his work, specially 70-76...its probably cos i grew up with Plants solo stuff and recall how some of my friends of the time even tho they werent fans of Zep...liked the stuff he was doing, specially Big Log & In the Mood,Little by Little ect.

This is the old Welsh tradition. His son Karac died at 7 years old in 1977. "Twice over death" (meaning 2X the age of death) a funeral pyre (fire) to the child is made. 14 years after Karac's death, Robert made this.
@TacomaPaul How could I have missed this fact, I have been following Robert Plant since the 60's and must have been way too entrenched in my marriage not to have known! I am soo sad...~Terrie~
The greatest voice of all time!!!!!! LED ZEPPLIN ROCKS!!! if only Bonham hadn't had to much to drink that night and drowned in his on puke from being upside down head first in a street gutter:^(
dont make me vomit ... they pretend John Paul Jones never existed at every turn and never cut him in on new projects. This idealisation of post Led Zep history is a pewk
Robert Plant is simply the best, few singers can captivate the public as well regardless of age, because the songs are for everyone from Robert, I'm a big fan, too short its beautiful music.
correction sental :D thee greatest voice of all time :D , wonder what Zep would have become had John Bonham not had to much to drink that night ? ?? , maybe thats what makes Zep so great tho, the tragic end to a great band and the fact, they are still, very popular..... his mus sure changed but , although different from Zeppelin sound, still awesome all the same , because....... it;s Robert plant !!!
@bacalex61 obviously young people that relate the word music to ppl makin words rhyme without meaning behind tribal " music" that haven't a clue who or what Robert Plant, John Paul Jones , Jimmy Page and bonzo gave to music :D then and now , 2 strange people without a doubt !!!!!
Wow, an immaculate later tune by Plant... his voice is the only weak spot, he was meant more for Blues Rock wailing than melodic pop singing, not to mention his voice hasn't much power here... but seriously, songwriting-wise, this beats most of Zep.
I have seen Robert once live although I never got to see Led Zeppelin. I wish I did. I still think he has great music left to do. I can't say that he has nothing left to offer after Led Zeppelin as great as that was. Let's see what happens.
Such a beautiful song, written for his son- who died so young. Plant is a true artist with the ability to turn his grief, hardships, and struggles into art for everyone to cherish. The words are so beautiful - it wrenches my heart when he sings the words " tears from your mother- from the pits of her soul- look at your father, see his blood run cold" and then " Like the wind, you are free - listen hard, I can hear you -so talk to me" Beautiful video too.
@51Thundersticks maybe there is someting wrong with you ,he i practicly naked in this video ,use your fantasy !!!!!! i always imagine somebody nude, sometimes it,s very funny !!!!i have lots of fantasy !! the song is a lot more important then a video !!
rockisheaven... you are so correct. And the fire is totally an ancient Welsh (Celtic) pyre to the son that has been dead "2 times over". Has been gone 2 times longer than he was alive.
Karac died in '77... he was 7 yrs old... this song was written in '91... 14 years later.
Plant, like so many of my favorites like Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd, Rush and all thier off-shoot individual soloists have gotten better over time. Sure they're not as heavy, hard, or full of energy, but it's thier life's experiences and wisdom gained over the years that reflects in thier later years that shines in these songs.
@rockisheaven No need to compare or forget "All of My Love". Grief changes over the years, it means different things at different times, and you express yourself differently at different times. They are both what he wanted or needed to sing.
What a magnificent song! It's only what you come to expect from Plant. He never sits still for a second, and never manages to put out a dud! I love it!
Plant was iconic with LZ, but he evolved in a beautiful way to the next level of his career... and then again with Krauss. I so enjoy every episode of his rich career. It is what it is... and it is every bit fantastic.
its only Robert Plant who has that very distinctive voice...Incomparable voice quality..very original....he was my favorite when I wast only a teenager...ha ha ha now im in my 50s Thanks a lot...
xxmusicheadxx, you have the best music videos on the web! I'm trying to introduce my 3 daughters to great musicians like Robert Plant to keep it alive, 'cause all that's played on the 'TOP 40' now is just CRAP!!! " We, the annointed ones, the dying bread of meaningful, artistic music, have a quest bestowed upon us, to keep the flame of heart-felt music alive, and to not allow it to die to the untalented, 'gotta make a million bucks no matter the music's content'. YOU, SIR, OR MAM,,,,,ROCK!!!
This kind of reminds me of that part in Zoolander when Zoolander's commercial is running on TV and he's a mer-man. Not that that takes away the awesomness of this song, but, it's just a thought.
I love this song, though I feel it has a very sad meaning that I fail to understand. Maybe it's just Robert's voice, or the "big farm on the top of the hill" part. Or maybe it's just that I was playing Doom II (surrounded by enemies) when I first heard it.
This song was written for his son Karac, who died back in 1977, thus "see your brother in the sky" and tears from the mom and the father's blood ran cold...
si tuviste la oportunidad de verlo en vivo!! tengo que decirte que sos un privilegiado en esta vida, viviste arte en vivo que poco artistas como Plant puede transmitir, más con un registro amplio de su voz, reconocido en su medio.

@TacomaPaul How could I have missed this fact, I have been following Robert Plant since the 60's and must have been way too entrenched in my marriage not to have known! I am soo sad...~Terrie~

One of the greatest voices of all time???
The greatest voice of all time!!!!!! LED ZEPPLIN ROCKS!!! if only Bonham hadn't had to much to drink that night and drowned in his on puke from being upside down head first in a street gutter:^(

dont make me vomit ... they pretend John Paul Jones never existed at every turn and never cut him in on new projects. This idealisation of post Led Zep history is a pewk

Robert Plant is simply the best, few singers can captivate the public as well regardless of age, because the songs are for everyone from Robert, I'm a big fan, too short its beautiful music.
santofabricio 1 year ago 2
correction sental :D thee greatest voice of all time :D , wonder what Zep would have become had John Bonham not had to much to drink that night ? ?? , maybe thats what makes Zep so great tho, the tragic end to a great band and the fact, they are still, very popular..... his mus sure changed but , although different from Zeppelin sound, still awesome all the same , because....... it;s Robert plant !!!
jdfred1970 1 year ago
I love the fact that a true hard rocker can turn into a middle aged, sensitive man like this. He grew so much since the Zeppelin days...

bacalex61 1 year ago
@bacalex61 obviously young people that relate the word music to ppl makin words rhyme without meaning behind tribal " music" that haven't a clue who or what Robert Plant, John Paul Jones , Jimmy Page and bonzo gave to music :D then and now , 2 strange people without a doubt !!!!!

Wow, an immaculate later tune by Plant... his voice is the only weak spot, he was meant more for Blues Rock wailing than melodic pop singing, not to mention his voice hasn't much power here... but seriously, songwriting-wise, this beats most of Zep.
KingCrimson776 1 year ago
I have seen Robert once live although I never got to see Led Zeppelin. I wish I did. I still think he has great music left to do. I can't say that he has nothing left to offer after Led Zeppelin as great as that was. Let's see what happens.

one of Plant's best songs he is a true legend
benkovicr 1 year ago 2
Such a beautiful song, written for his son- who died so young. Plant is a true artist with the ability to turn his grief, hardships, and struggles into art for everyone to cherish. The words are so beautiful - it wrenches my heart when he sings the words " tears from your mother- from the pits of her soul- look at your father, see his blood run cold" and then " Like the wind, you are free - listen hard, I can hear you -so talk to me" Beautiful video too.

rockisheaven... you are so correct.

Gorgeous! Forget "All My Love"--THIS is the perfect father-to-son song. And it proves just how beautiful Robert is, inside and out.
rockisheaven 2 years ago 36
@rockisheaven Another great father to son song is In Your Time by Bob Seger that he wrote for his son, Cole.
Bosingr 1 year ago
@rockisheaven No need to compare or forget "All of My Love". Grief changes over the years, it means different things at different times, and you express yourself differently at different times. They are both what he wanted or needed to sing.

Plant was iconic with LZ, but he evolved in a beautiful way to the next level of his career... and then again with Krauss. I so enjoy every episode of his rich career. It is what it is... and it is every bit fantastic.

xxmusicheadxx, you have the best music videos on the web!

Coolinbnyoncrack 2 years ago 2
I love this song, though I feel it has a very sad meaning that I fail to understand. Maybe it's just Robert's voice, or the "big farm on the top of the hill" part. Or maybe it's just that I was playing Doom II (surrounded by enemies) when I first heard it.
takeshimyu 2 years ago 2
This song was written for his son Karac, who died back in 1977, thus "see your brother in the sky" and tears from the mom and the father's blood ran cold...
