im makeing a oo-scale presevation railway at the moment it will have a small diesel to act as a reacuer since some of the small tanks stall alot and need to be reacued when too far away to reach. but the diesels have room in them for decent motors.

im making a tunnel for my railroad. it wont look as good as foam but it will still look good. im about half way through. first u get chicken wire and make the frame of the tunnel. then u make the first layer with PAPER MACHE. after that first layer dries u put on a second layer as reinforcement. u can put on as many layers as u want as long as u have enough stuff. when that dries u paint it then secure it down where u want. make sure u can get it back up so u can change that track if u want to.

What you see is smoke coming out of the smokestacks. This is from the coal which is burned to heat the water, which turns to steam, to move the pistons that turn the wheels that move the steam engine down the tracks.

Train tracks are cheap, and you can't build them from wire.

My three year old son loves trains. We don't have a lot of money either, but our set can grow over time. Maybe by the time he has kids our set will be something to see. In HO scale it doesn't cost much to get started.

Very beautiful. Just the deep "wailing" American steam whistle (three chime?) doesn't quite fit for the European steamers. These have single chime "peeping" whistles (at least the ones I know of).

great layout. I didnt have room in my condo for a layout, so i install near the ceiling of my livingroom. The turns are wide allow fast speed. This baby fly without derailing. There are safety rail that prevent trains from falling to the floor. See my video.

Have you seen that Hornby now make 00 gauge live steam? At the minute only A4 Pacifics (like the Mallard) and A3 Pacifics (like the Flying Scotsman), but the technology does exist. RTR price: about £300.
