why are you monitoring the discharge and return of the air temp and the delta t? what is the benefit in this, what will this tell ya? i just purchased a prestige iaq, going to be hooking up the remote, outside temp, and a dehumidifier...
do you know how many of the outside temp modules can you hook up? i was thinking of purchasing a few extra, then i could monitor the temp/humd in my crawl space and attic...
To continue what I just said, I'm over 10 degree rise per hour, feels way oversized. Coldest day of January yet my 3 degree span setting on my stat only yeild a 10-11 minute runtime or so even at 0 degrees. Oversize is evil takes 10 minutes to get to the heat rise rating of 55 degrees, I experience so much waste with metal ductwork thats actually sealed meticulously.
I wish I had either a smaller unit or two stage at this point. Have just under a 60k output in a very well insulated and air sealed home with over 2000 sq ft. Ran 35 percent duty cycle at that output level when the temperature was between -15f and -20f outside that morning. Strange to think that 20k BTU would close to manage the set temperature in a home over 2000 sq ft in Minnesota yet the smallest unit most sell in a 95% or higher is around a 30k BTU output. 2 stage 45k high fire.
@jay11j The IAQ is a very good t-stat! The literature said that there was a option for a some sensors so I had access to a couple of discharge air temperature sensor. The only problem is that if you want to monitor the delta T you have to access the installer set up.
@fart1fart1 I haven't receive the invoice on the t-stat and the sensors are from some zoning kits which I will have to replace but I think the sensors are around 80 dollars. OUCH!!!
@tstatech No problem, that thermostat is real accurate it is within a 1/2 degree you would be happy with it.I also have the outdoor sensor and wireless remote too.I have that thermostat data log you should see the accuracy it would blow your mind.
I am with you on the delta T mine are around 65 and up too!
@fritzhvac LOL sorry Fritz, but I live north of those guys where its 39, they live in sunny southern Cali., where all the girls wear bikinis all year long lol.
Honeywell's Prestige stats are already too high-tech for me but that IAQ is off the charts! The air temp sensors are really cool. Add in the fact that the furnace has a diagnostic board and you can cut troubleshooting time in half. Cool video. Nice work.
Man I can hear in your voice how much you are diggin it !!!
How is she workin out today ?
Delta T is awesome !!!
Dallas you can tell me , did you kidnap a coulpe of the Kebler Elves , and stick them in your furnace ? I have never seen such a clean furnace in my life !!!

I forgot it is redlink and has wireless outdoor sensor

@topdoozie1 The redlink system is great! I have a wireless outdoor sensor and you can hardwire it too.

Is it dual fuel or can you only install dts ras. I didnt see terminals for outside air temperature sensor

Your so right. I think most home on the heating side are oversized.

I have the VP IAQ, and been tempted to upgrade to this one... Reason why you did the return/supply sensor?

Thanks for posting. I may have to get one of those. Though York is about to release their communicating thermostat.
Your Delta T is right in line. Your ducts must all be in a row. Pun intended.
Seems like every time I check temp rise on service calls It's always north of 65 degrees, even on high fan speed.

Very cool, I have yet to come across these t-stats, nor have I ever installed one.
I think the features and sensors are great for service techs, but I doubt many customers would actually care about the added features and benefits.

@mazzmari Your right about the sensors and the extra cost but it does have the cool factor.
