  • i can't believe you stopped singing... such a tragedy. you are SO TALENTED. i'll smack you if you don't start singing again. really.

  • This is lovely. Your voice is rich throughout your range. I can't believe you were only 18 when you sang this; your voice sounds much more mature than that. I also love the tempo that you took this at; some people sing it slower but if you look at the words of the poem you can see that Brahms did not intend for this to be sung slowly. I am learning this song right now (at the ripe old age of 55). Brava!!

  • why did you stop singing? your voice is beautiful! im a singer myself and searching for help on pronunciations for this song. you helped me soo much! my contest is in two weeks from today and although I passed the first round, your performance has helped me to be prepared for this next contest. Thank you very much! And you should definately SING!!!!

  • This is beautiful. i think you did an amazing job. i feel that one note was sharp, but your vowels are amzaing and clear. I'm working on this song right now. hopefully i'll sound as good as you.

  • what's with the microphone?

pretty sure Mr. Brahms the genius wouldn't have approved!

Also, Brahms is a mezzo lover.

This song ws probably originally written for a mezzo-soprano, not a soprano.

    Otherwise, good!

  • This was wonderful - the best version I've been able to find on YouTube. I'm singing this right now, I am also 18. Love this song, your voice is beayootiful!

  • ptilda has a great point.

I'm singing this peice in the state finals of solo an ensemble, and I have the same problem.

But this really is a great performance!

    Take pride!

  • Chills to infinity, thank you Kaylyn. love, Nancy

  • You have a lovely voice! Keep working, and add more videos!

I suggest you roll your shoulders back before singing. This will open you up more and give you a nice, straight posture. It will also create a "vacuum" so you don't have to gasp for breath.
